I like the concept of free roaming shmups. I just wish you could move around at your own pace, or hold still on those overhead maps. A good idea that needs better execution.
Thunderforce series was good, again a series of games that got better with each one not worse like Golden Axe, the Thunderforce games should have been on the Genisis/MD collection for PS3/Xbox360

Reminds me of a free-roaming Xevious or something. I'd never played any Thunderforce game lower than 3.
