You know, I can relate to Applejack's story. I used to work at a local candy store and they were so pumped on selling at the Taste of Chicago. So just to set up everything for the taste of Chicago we didn't get paid for about 2 months, but our boss promised us that we'd get paid 10 fold after the Taste. I think one of the reasons MLP is so awesome is because of the subtle ways it promotes capitalists values of hard work, entrepreneurism and free trade (AJ, Rarity and PP demonstrate this clearly) and libertarian values of personal accountability and limited government (Princess Celestia's delegation of responsibility to subjects, instead of appointment of commissars to micromanage society). The show really deep.

What I felt during this song sequence almost sums up what I felt from the point where I first heard about MLP:FIM until the last episode. At first I only read about it and that it was good. I realized that it was special soon after the beginning and then went from "more than I expected" over "this is awesome" to sheer amazement about what a "kid's show" could pull off...

A nice ending to a show which surprised me all around.
