Hubby (The Hills 1914 - Xbox360) just used Ryback Firestorm , followed video precisely, and timed in @ 103:96! Great video!!!! He first tried the GT12 (108), then the Corbetti 530 (107)...Firestorm worked the fastest for him.

@Sonicisunleashed2008 True, but it takes some practice. One detonator took me 45 minutes to finally beat. They are hard, but with long practice, you wil eventually get the one first you need to then forget bout it then move on to the next race.

I tried so many times with the GT12. I was landing the jump @ 33s but still not getting less than 1:07.79. I then read some of the comments here and changed to the Cobretti 350 GTS. 1:06.39 within 20 minutes of trying! Sheesh!! It wasn't even a perfect run. Tips, let it drift but control the drift. Keep the turns smooth and not too tight as this way you maintain overall speed.

Thanks for the video though. It still helped in a big way - especially as I hadn't noticed the shortcut!

I see this is XB...I am playing PS3 version & Ive been trying like hell to do this with multiple cars. Doing it with the GT12 and racing your lines, I can't land the jump in under 37 secs. Using the 350GTS I'm still in the 35-36 sec. range and my best time is 1:07: 24!! My lines are very smooth with little to no drift...any thoughts anyone???

hey man, just wondering if you've come across a secret route in the very last race of split second?? i'm sure it comes after you detonate the tower, roof jumps and hairpin turn at the bottom where the building can blow up on you to the left. anyway, after the hairpin turn, i usually see 1 or 2 AI cars coming of the bridge ramp to the right, and it pisses me off that i can't find this route!! anyway, any help you can post is awesome. hope my details weren't confusing! d.

I found the Corbetti 530 to be a much easier car to do this achievement with. It has a lower top speed and lower acceleration than the Elite but its stability is superior and allows you to keep the acceleration jammed down on pretty much 99% of the track (at least imo). Acutually, the same goes for beat the team II... 530 worked better for me.

@Made4DBZ33 I'm not gay but i could kiss your face right now, just tried this car as opposed to the Elite, its seriously rapid, got 1:16:03 on the 4th attempt, doesnt even matter it you hit walls, i just tried to go in a straight line as much as possible and bounced off some of the corners, cant believe i beat the time by this much, my PB with the Elite was only 1:18:73. Hi guys, as an addition to this video for anyone struggling with it theres a cheeky trick that'll get you an even better time. At the start quickly hold the reverse button to stop your car before it hits the line (and the timer starts), reverse slowly, the game will let you go back beyond the Split Second yellow writing to the yellow line below it. Start from here and you pass the start line and start the clock at pretty much full speed. Makes it ALOT easier (whos gna b 1st to call me a cheat:-)

Some people are thrown by the stats of the vehicles. There are at least 5 or 6 cars in the game that can be used for detonator time trials in quick play or online play and yield top scores, depends on your driving style. I have all achievements and use/prefer the cobretti 530 GT myself, very stable and super fast, with minimal drift (but will drift if you force it to with braking).

@Thrillzeek Most players use the Elite GT-12, it's positive being quick acceleration and tight cornering, drawbacks being highly unstable and drifty, requires god-like throttle control. I use the 530GT because it's not as twitchy and is actually faster in straights. Try passing a good driver in a 530GT in the open area, you wont.
