Not from the factory, no. The Range Rover in the video is a 2006 model, which means it has open front & rear differentials with a Torsen (torque sensing) limited-slip center differential (LSD). There are no locking differentials on 2003-2006 model Range Rovers. 2007-onward model Range Rovers have a locking center differential (controlled via Terrain Response) with a rear locking differential optional (std on SC models). The driver cannot lock/unlock the differential(s).
Landrovers are the only S.U.V:s that actually can go offroad, and damn they are good at it to. like you said "isctony" i would like to see a normal suv like a, Merc, or a cadillac do this.
If was really a video on what land rovers do best, it would be a video about blowing suspension or getting stuck in an inch of snow....I don't know about the LR3 but the range is terrible....
@sirtubemaster Land Rover honors the warranty even if you take it off road. I think it would be hyporcritical if they did void the warranty went you went off the road.
@headleed Thats good news and then worth spending the money. Too many trucks claim off off road but the minute they are off the road and break they wont touch it!
range rovers suck ..........price sucks...... capability sucks..........replace parts sucks...... most of the drivers suck..........lets face it they suck
Hey cock smoker, have you even driven one. I doubt you've owned one, so quit with the sooky remarks. Land Rovers, Range Rovers are extremely capable. They are reliable contrary to some opinions. Also, many people in the US call them SUV's. WTF? These are serious off roaders and should be treated as such.
@TheNgr123 sounds like ur trying to justify em to urself.....goodluck with that..."contrary to some opinions" ....ever heard the frase .. how can a million people be wrong?????? ... buy a real car lol ...oh and yes a mate of mine bought a rather expensive one, a voughe or some crap and yes i drove it...didnt change my perception of them .....lmao
@mongrelkharma No, I don't need to justify it. I own one, I am totally happy with it. I have owned 3 so far, plus 2 toyota's. All good vehicles, just all different from each other, but don't kid yourself, they are fucking awsome, go try one and see for yourself. Don't knock it till you try it.
stock for stock, no german or jap suv could outperform land rovers offroad. I like toyotas for their meticulous craftsmanship and impeccable reliability (not to mention competent offroad performance) but I gotta admit i wish i had the money to buy and maintain a range rover. they aint kidding when they say its the best 4x4 by far.
@ChuddleBuggy do you know of toyota land cruiser or sequoia? Have you ever heard about mitsubishi pajero or nissan patrol? May wanna think twice about your comment. People might laugh.
Stock versus stock, no SUV except perhaps for military-purpose vehicles can match offroad performance of the LR Range Rover. You go to a showroom and buy any 1 suv you want and tell me could be better than a L/R Range Rover OFF ROAD. Only the Porsche Cayenne can come close but I've never seen these 2 compared side by side against each other. Until then, I think the R/R is the best offroader.
range rovers with their ifs, street tires and low ground clearance are clearly not the best offroad truck, get a clue. but you are correct in saying they are more expensive and luxurious. as for the styling, thats objective, i think their kinda girly
to be fair they are still bloddy good even though landrover are making them lower and street tires ect but if you really want the best 4x4xfar then they are still making the good ol' defender.
that explains why the wheels sliped so much when you tried to climb the river bank in the range, you probably would have been best off in rock crawl.Awsome video btw!!!
The range is an '06 so it doesn't have terrain respose...but I didn't have the lr3 set on rock crawl which is a good idea, I'll probably have it on that setting next time. Thanks for the tip
Yes a $60K vehicle designed for this type of use ~ great job i have had my LR3 in water up to the windscreen and some very scary rutted trails following and eventually passing the jacked up 4runner i was following ~ he got stuck so pulled him out and went on to complete the trail !! truely amazing vehicles !!!
range rovers are among the very best offroad vehicles better than jeeps and lancruisers and with better luxury and styling its just better but expensive
i wish i could do that with our range rover would be so much fun these cars are amazing how deep do you think the range rover super charged go in wright back
The ammount of air coming out of it stopr anything going in. I broke down under water once and the exhaust was completely full of water/mud & ance i got out and restarted just gave it a good rev and the water was gushing out of the exhaust by about 30 feet!
easily the land rover (lr3) is going to be better.. It has always, for the most part, been more based on the off-roading experience, while the range rover has been known to be a more luxurious based vehicle, although it will still perform off road decently.
OMG, you weren't nervous? You must know that swamp pretty well. Most of the vid you were one hole away from drowning the vehicles. Nice job! Great vid.

Was wondering what the music is for the intro => 1st couple of bars before it mixes into another song?

you should read your user manual...
from memory it says the max water depth to go in is 30cm deep... anymore and you void warranty/risk drown it.
even with a snorkel you wouldnt be covered, all snorkels these days are advertised as 'cold air/fresh air' intakes, nothing about being 'waterproof'
