  • Most have seen 'A Clockwork Orange' prior to 'If...' and almost always say they were just waiting for the character Alex to surface at any moment.

  • @1ASMA3 i didn't

  • Probably as important a satire/ allegory as A Clockwork Orange Malcolm McDowell was indeed inspiringly cast by Kubrick a few years later, perfect in both parts

  • And the Tories want soldiers tobe teachers.........

  • @MrCJSuperbad It would solve a lot of discipline problems.

  • ingleses violentos y bastardos como siempre!!!

  • Effetti della riforma Gelmini

  • Was essentially the plan used by the columbine kids. They were to set off a bomb and execute people as they fled the school as opposed to starting a fire. Funny this was shot shortly after the University of Texas tower massacre.

  • In a world of us and them you now how " them" are educated.

  • fucking hell! why do germans dub every mother fucking movie. don't they know how to read. i watch loads of german films, and i always choose to listen to them in the original language and read subtitles for what i can't understand.

  • @videochemist

(and when i say german i mean spanish...)

  • @videochemist Italian

  • @videochemist It's not German you moron

  • forshadowring colubine

  • is there anywhere to get the whole thing?

  • Most badass ending ever.

  • "Bastards Bastards"

  • best ending for any film ever made

  • One of my favorite films

  • Malcolm looks badass with that Bren machinegun

  • You missed the part when it suddenly cuts off to black and shows the title "if..." That's one of the best part of the film, and a great ending.

  • In my vid about if.... i show the scene at the end with some music over it but i leave in the bit were it cuts to black

  • Even better ending than Butch Cassidy!

  • The hymn here was my school's hymn!!!

    Sigh, nostalgia ...

  • hi,

what is this hymn called? i have searched on internet for the lyrics (stand up stand up etc) and cant find it anywhere...

  • Hi!

I think it's called various things but one of them is "Lift up your heads ye gates of brass".

If you type it into google the third hit has a midi file ...

  • hi thanks for that, the song i was referring to has the lyrics "stand up stand up for college..." etc, or am is the same one?

  • it's called 'He who would valiant be' also known as 'To be a pilgrim.' we used to sing it at school. hope this helps

  • One of the greatest film ever.

  • anyone have the video in english cause i would like to know what their saying

  • Kinda spices it up to see it dubbed into Italian.

I love Malcolm McDowell's comment on landing the lead in If: "I'd been up for six, where it was either me or Hywell Bennett, me or Michael York, or me and somebody else and it was always them that got it - thank God! Because those films were such crap and this one turned out to be a masterpiece"!

  • I have the DVD and it's excellent

  • the headmaster looks like hitler

  • Great fucking movie!

  • I'm watching the film right now!

  • Actually the movie was made and released PRIOR to the May 1968 events in France! Great movie...

  • ive ordered it today

  • That is the ending of the film. The build up is superb. The main characters are put under the absurd pressure common in English schools and they eventually explode. It was made in 1968(ish), the same time of the Paris student uprising; although it's a product of the time in which it was made, it is a landmark in revolutionary cinema. Try to see it. It has only been made available on DVD in 2007, so get it while it's hot!

  • how does it end?

    thanks.

  • if i had to chose a way of dying, it would be on the roof of that school with mcdowell, guns blazing in hale of glory, alright! eat lead you f**king mummies!!!!!!! :)

  • Spanish?!? HAHAHAHA

Stupid bloke thinks this is Spanish. It's ITALIAN you ignorant twat.

  • and all the better for it...!!

  • What's this doing on Paramount Comedy? lol

  • Looks like Monty Python.

  • Monty Python did a famous parody of this scene, that's probably why it looks similar to you.

  • i was wondering if there was a way i could see that parody..?

  • NO, NO. It´s suaheli.

  • It is in Italian

  • haha it is in spanish.

  • A terrific movie. Brilliant ending.
