I'm most confused by the fact that they're portraying being a zookeeper as some sort of crappy job a stupid man would do. Being a zookeeper requires at the very least a degree in biology, and a ton of volunteer work and experience. Hell, this guy apparently works at San Diego Zoo, one of the largest zoos in the world. It's like making a movie where the main character is a professor of law at Harvard, but everyone just treats him like he's the janitor.
