The parts in a $1000 Apple notebook are worth a $350 PC notebook. PC's can be upgraded, Mac's are glued together (that is how they are so light). If your PC is slow you get a memory upgrade with a 2GB DDR2 stick of RAM for $40.00, but not on a Mac. 90% of people throw away their notebooks. Who is green now?

The new Mac OS is Linux, so if you want a Linux notebook get a Mac.
Resale of a mac is pretty damn high and good. I paid 1200 for my macbook 3 years ago and can get $850 for it today. My 4 year old pc that I paid $1600 for is worth $25 on ebay. PCs suck because they get viruses and windows is shit with all it's errors and blue screens.
Well first of all if I am going to write a virus I would rahter infect 90 PC's rather then 5 Mac's. Second If you buy a Mac there are like 3 mac's, when you buy a PC there are hundreds of thousands PC's. Thanks to the market that 333Mhz PC has been replaced by a 15000Mhz computer at the same price.

Crashes happen when either a piece of hardware or a driver goes bad Viruses attack system files too, which can create BSOD. I've seen a Mac BSOD (Kernal panic) my friends stopped booting past the main boot screen and had to take it in! atleast when a problem occurs on a PC it's commonly easily FIXED!

All Macs are very environmentally friendly, especially the macbook family. They are mercury free, bromine flame retardant free, and are made of highly recyclable aluminum and arsenic-free glass. Plus, the macbook family's displays are LED displays, so they save a lot of energy.
Many PCs are environmentally friendly too, I just don't know that much about them.
Regardless of your preference between a Mac or PC, environmentally friendly products are the way to go.

If you are suggesting that companies make green products then let me be the first to say, it's a bad idea. Not only is this some stupid idea ("Protect the environment") but half the time these so called green products put out more waste then normal ones, just to make it.

Thing here though is they want the companies to create green products, that's not bad, alot of places are already going lead free and getting ROHS standards online. Thing is the massive amount of old technology, the companies that produced it have no control over it anymore. I'm not claiming that these chemicals are harmless, I just think that this is a bad tactic for informing the general public about enviromental dangers. most people wouldn't think much about the chemistry of what was said in the video, and people sometimes exploit the public's ignorance. I'm just reminding people to be skeptical, and not believe everything that they hear.

OK, you're right about bedbugs! I got eaten alive by them one time at a hostel in Laos. Every inch of my skin was covered with swelled up red bumps. It was the itchiest thing I have ever experienced, I literally wanted to scratch my skin off. So DDT FTW! (to be fair though, DDT can seriously screw up the environment if used too liberally) the WHO resently recommended its reintroduction in malaria epidemic areas.

This video was terrible and not overly informative. Neither Apple, nor anyother computer maker for the fact, have forced China or India to take in the old products, and they have NEVER condoned the terrible way in which these countries have disposed of these products.

Resale of a mac is pretty damn high and good. I paid 1200 for my macbook 3 years ago and can get $850 for it today. My 4 year old pc that I paid $1600 for is worth $25 on ebay. PCs suck because they get viruses and windows is shit with all it's errors and blue screens.

Well first of all if I am going to write a virus I would rahter infect 90 PC's rather then 5 Mac's. Second If you buy a Mac there are like 3 mac's, when you buy a PC there are hundreds of thousands PC's. Thanks to the market that 333Mhz PC has been replaced by a 15000Mhz computer at the same price.
And my last point, if you want a good Linux computer buy a Mac. Learn to read code, then tell me that the new Mac's arn't just uppity white Linux boxes.

U never talked about resale. With a pc your throwing away your money because in 4 years it's not worth a damn thing. With a mac it holds on to it's price pretty well. Why because people trust macs,the're just built that well. With a 2nd hand pc you don't know what crap your getting. Mac writes it's new OS's so a mac of 7 or 8 years can run it. well, your right and wrong. If people want a cheap computer they'll buy second hand, I've seen people buying second hand computers & parts at my work. Your not taking into consideration how many PC's there are compared to Macs, take Windows out of the equation, Linux, Redhat, FreeBSD, even MacOSX itself, Custom PC machines from thousands of parts and companys are everywhere, almost more than OEM (Dell HP etc). That's why they go for soo less. COMPETITION! BTW I've run Vista on a 4yr old laptop!

People make viruses for everything, XBOX, cell phones ect . Do you really think no one has tried to make a mac virus? The truth is on my mac i'm safe because of its OS being so tight. On my pc id get stuff shoved on my computer without me downloading it. Shit would just show up and take over. Id type one address and be taken to another. Anti virus/spy software costs me $90 a year.I always had shit popping up in my face saying i had a virus or the firewall saying im being hacked.Crashed everyday

I've seen a Mac BSOD (Kernal panic) my friends stopped booting past the main boot screen and had to take it in! atleast when a problem occurs on a PC it's commonly easily FIXED!

Mac has a pop up and it says "this is a program and it can be harmful to your computer would you like to allow it to download. " So when your on limewire downloading what you think is a song your safe when it's not. Maybe your friend hit yes allow program?If so that's not macs fault, PC easily fixed ? I remember when i got this virus on my pc I could not remove it and spent hrs and hrs at anti virus forums and sites reading on how to remove it. Id get it removed and the sucker would come back

How so? Even though my $1600 pc from 2005 still works like it did when I bought it after I replaced the virus infected harddrive and it's graphic card. doesn't mean it's worth anything. I seen my pc going on ebay for $25. So in 4 years I lost $1575. PCs are great for people who enjoy fighting viruses and shit. Or ppl who enjoy spending hrs reading on how to remove one that wont delete. Oh boy I miss those days .. NOT. I also love how dell was like well you can talk to a tech for $50.

All Macs are very environmentally friendly, especially the macbook family. They are mercury free, bromine flame retardant free, and are made of highly recyclable aluminum and arsenic-free glass. Plus, the macbook family's displays are LED displays, so they save a lot of energy.
Many PCs are environmentally friendly too, I just don't know that much about them.
Regardless of your preference between a Mac or PC, environmentally friendly products are the way to go.

Thing here though is they want the companies to create green products, that's not bad, alot of places are already going lead free and getting ROHS standards online. Thing is the massive amount of old technology, the companies that produced it have no control over it anymore. It's sad really that developing countries are buying it to scrap it, and the worst part is they are doing it the cheap dirty way, exp. burning copper wire to remove the vinyl insulation. Scrapping it needs to be green too.

carbon tetrahydride is a perfectly fine name for a covalent bond such as methane. we just don't use that name much because people had names for commonly occuring chemicals like water and methane before the modern system of chemistry was invented. and methane is not dangerous; the only way you could possibly die from it is through axphiliation, a deprivation of oxygen gas, which is true for any chemical. and it is NOT harmful to the enviroment, except in very large amounts.

I'm not claiming that these chemicals are harmless, I just think that this is a bad tactic for informing the general public about enviromental dangers. most people wouldn't think much about the chemistry of what was said in the video, and people sometimes exploit the public's ignorance. I'm just reminding people to be skeptical, and not believe everything that they hear.

OK, you're right about bedbugs! I got eaten alive by them one time at a hostel in Laos. Every inch of my skin was covered with swelled up red bumps. It was the itchiest thing I have ever experienced, I literally wanted to scratch my skin off. So DDT FTW! (to be fair though, DDT can seriously screw up the environment if used too liberally) the WHO resently recommended its reintroduction in malaria epidemic areas.

This video was terrible and not overly informative. Neither Apple, nor anyother computer maker for the fact, have forced China or India to take in the old products, and they have NEVER condoned the terrible way in which these countries have disposed of these products.
If Green Peace were to open their eyes, they could see that it is in fact the respective governments China and India who is their enemy ... and for more then a couple computers that have been improperly disposed of.

Right you are jbtascam. There seems to be an unwarranted stigma surrounding chemical names, that this video is based on. Many of the chemicals that they mention have only an "unverified" type status, and Apple, especially, uses as environmentally- and people-friendly chemicals as possible.
