and btw i bought the exact same model i could only get through a couple dozen vhs tapes till the vcr broke i have one that a panasonic combo from 2007 and its still working perfectly 4 years later
I have a Daewoo DVD VHS combo witch works ok but if i copy an old VHS to disc and attempt to play it in any other player it wont recognise the disc so I transfered the disc copy back on to a VHS tape and played ok in the Daewoo but when i played the tape in my normal VCR it was like the tape was a hundred yers old! Its as if my DVD/ VHS combo copyrote the recording! Now when i want to show my brothers school play from the 1980's i have to take the whole damn machine with me! Whats going on?
This machine is a piece for crap. I bought it in March of 2010 from Costco. The programming methodology is crappy compared to my old Sanyo. I sent it in for repair when it would no longer accept programming instructions for a timed tape recording. i.e. it just kicked into DVD mode when I hit the final programming button. They sent me a new one and after running into the identical problems as the first unit, I returned it to Costco for a refund. Toshiba (made in China) never again.
load of rubbish - this machine chewed up 3 old tapes and ruined 2 others i purchase cheaper unit from maplin never again will buy toshiba crap equipment from crap company
@sports4uk2012 shut your a tool and you have clue what your talking about Toshiba is a really good company almost every thing i own is Toshiba and nothing of mine has ever fail your a tool your just upset that you don't have the money to buy this go back to your mom basement you big tool

i still use my vhs for recording tv programs, i have 3 dvd-vhs combos with dvd recorder, so i cant put in the trash the vhs :)
