  • HAve any ofyou fellas ever stepped inta boxing ring with the one of the greatest heavyweights that ever lived? have u ever been on a comedown From doina lot of drugs? have you ever done them both in one night? i think not!

  • hello my name is olive mccall and i will cry when he hurt me. :)

  • poor mills lane he gets all the crazy fights!

  • if u r real champ--u destroy McCALL who does nothing--IF U CANT do this in this situation--what kind of champ u r?

  • @wurble yeah but the mental breakdown didnt happen until the fight was almost over. It was obvious to me that oliver was capable of fighting back and lewis knew it. But he just gave up to me. But probably figuring he wasnt goinf ro win, it was the thought of a black bloke frok another country that did him on.

  • American pansy

  • maybe he thinks about a dead relative in order to pump himself up, and he got too emotionally involved and walked around the ring thinking about them too much

  • I always wondered why his cornermen didn't stop it when they saw his head wasn't screwed on right.

  • wtf is wrong with mccall ?

u know hes a better boxer then that

  • Lewis wants revenge on drunken druggie Oliver

    Dillon John

    (London, England)

    Date: Jan 5 1997

McCall has hardly been seen in public since he entered a drugs rehabilitation clinic in North Carolina last Autumn to fight cocaine and marijuana problems.

When he did surface, he was promptly arrested for slinging a Christmas tree across a hotel foyer in Nashville.

His erratic behaviour means no-one is quite sure what shape or frame of mind he'll be in when he turns up to meet Lewis next month.

  • Lennox "The Vulture" Lewis: career breakdown

Here are Lennox Lewis' most difficult opponents:

Ray Mercer - 1996 - Mercer was 35. So poor was his record, he hadn't won a fight for 3 yrs, a controversial SD against Jesse Ferguson in 1993. He was also outclassed by a 43 yo Larry Holmes in 1991. Mercer dominated and was clearly robbed. Naturally Mercer wanted a rematch offering to donate his all his $10m purse to Charity (Project Pride-Newark). Amazingly the Vulture Lennox Lewis refused!

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward you talk shit, styles makes fights, lewis still won, but not every fight is going to be a piece of cake, you moron, and after beating him he wanted to move on to the next, there was some top fighters still around that lennox wanted to fight, other then rematch someone he just struggled to beat, where is your fighting sense man...you spend that much time trolling youtube you have never even had a fight, so shut your noise

  • @dean24uk I agree. McCall definitely had the tools to trouble Lennox. He just quit.

  • Lennox "The Vulture" Lewis: career breakdown

Here are Lennox Lewis' most difficult opponents:

Razor Ruddock - a walking Asthma Attack who had already been ko'd by a bum called David Jaco who retired with a 24-25-1 (18 by KO) record, who had never held any version of a world title and no relevant wins

Frank Bruno - 1993- Famous for stamina problems and a caramel chin (James Smith '84 + Witherspoon '86) washed up Bruno had fought just 4 times (against bums) since a KO to Tyson in '89

  • very shamefull night for usa;;;;xaxaxa he was crying ,where is don king xaxaxa

  • @jedigujjar01 you didnt mention how lennox lewis go ko'ed and lost his belt the 1st fight they had.......but i guess you blocked it out of your memory......that was a shame getin ko'ed my a sorry boxer

  • this time refree not accept the money.......shame 4 usa

  • I guess McCall got his payday prior to the fight

  • and not a single fuck was given by McCall

  • McCall needed a payday man. He had just got out of rehab and took this as his "comeback fight..... He prolly just wanted to get throwed! They coulda paid this nigga in Raw a couple ounces and some Crown Royal!

  • why mccall stop fighting???

  • The referee for the fight, Mills Lane, stated in an interview after the match, "In the third round, he got in close, and then seemed frustrated, and then he just backed off and put his arms down. . . . I thought he was playing possum but then I saw his lips started to quiver and I thought, 'My God, is he crying?'" Lane stopped the fight when McCall had refused to defend himself for several rounds.

  • A man's having a mental breakdown. The only thing more annoying than the fight commentators are the dopes commenting on this page who have no idea that the man has severe emotional issues. If your mother's were in the ring crying, would you be saying that the fight was fixed or would you be begging for a knockout then?

  • fixed fight.la camorra

  • U morons, clearly, if u smoke weed and think a little, the fight was out of the ring, in the corner when McCall was crying, he's coach told him, this is for you're daughter....if u ask me, id say someone put a big bet down, and McCall was orderd to loose,,, tried to tell us he could take dem pussy punches all day long but only for so long....but hey, im high...

  • cry baby

  • Apparently McCall use to be on drugs and is recovering but as to why he was crying n gave up i don't know, prob sunk in that he was getting his ass kicked lol

  • WTF was that?!?!?!?!?!? i don't know the story... does anybody know what happened here?

  • dickhead!!

  • Lewis all class.

  • Does anyone now why this mental breakdown?

  • @tricksterhuaun something to do with drugs i think

  • Lewis ready to even slate against McCall

    1997 The Associated Press

    LAS VEGAS (AP) -

'McCall, who was accompanied to Las Vegas by a drug counselor and who attends meetings of both Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous.

The legal problems include a parole violation stemming from an arrest in Chicago for possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, and an arrest for vandalism, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in December in Nashville, Tenn.

  • I don't even care about boxing, I just want to listen to the Scottish commentator.

  • @dashab

The commentator is Jim Watt, former lightweight champion.

  • shame george benton had to be a part of this fiasco (along with anyone else mccall made look ridiculous here)

    RIP George.

  • what is lewis wearing on his feet... looool

  • ref from celebrity deathmatch

  • @jmj540 LOL come to my hood and talk that shit, and you'll see first hand. In 1 hour you'll be leaving with your thumb in your mouth calling for mommy.

  • NICE LENNOX you won the fight...but you never put down the atomic bull...6-7 flush punches that knocked out tyson..klitshko..golota....but oliver put you down...cmon come out of retirement face the atomic bull for a decider...lennox was a champion no doubt...but the god like jaw and right hand of the atomic bull will always get my vote!!!

  • Without even knowing the context of McCall's issues, you can tell there's something up with the guy. It doesn't even look like a strategy! The commentators are as thick as shit.

  • I bet he broke down because he was paid to take a fall.

  • the anouncers r f*ckin annoyin but this is funny hehe

  • McCall says this was strategy, but I don't believe it.

  • Poor bastard, I feel for the bloke. Must have been tough times. :(

  • @AntiProtonBoy Man, I know it's weird but I always feel sorry for McCall here. I know it's his job to be a professional boxer but I have to believe that he had a good reason for breaking down like that in the middle of a match. Shit, if a woman at McDonald's started doing that while serving you, you'd be like: "Geez, forget the order, get a glass of water and a smoke or something." Same applies here, in my opinion.

  • Ill give u something to cry MotherFuck.......SMASH!!!

  • never thought I would see a pro-boxer cry

  • ah man, that's just plain sad.

  • Why doesn't Lennox just smash the shit out of him with a combo when he is just strolling around?

  • @MultiTrollHunter Lennox Lewis would then be viewed as an extreme asshole for beating a man who is having a mental breakdown.

  • @Unknown21714 but it's his job...he is a boxer....he is paid to beat people up

  • @MultiTrollHunter That doesn't matter. McCall was totally looking to be hurt at round 5 and Lewis wisely laid off to prevent more serious damage to an already damaged mind.

  • @Unknown21714 shudda put that niggah to sleep

  • @725clem right? me 2 :)

  • Sad to watch

  • Boxing is a mentally tough sport. I'm not surprised.

  • So I won't reply back so u can get on top so u can feel how it is to be a woman with a real men ha,ha,ha,ha go ahead I know u wanna be on top ha,ha lol;-)

  • The guard got pissed @ 8:51

  • he must of been on crack before the fight!

  • and the fact that lennox just dident wind up and throw combos at him and ko him is a disgrace

  • @malcolmscotty1 no idiot lennox was being was being a gentlemen

  • @FIGHTFANNERD3 your a clown "he was being a gentlemen" get the fuck out of here he was prolly scared mcall was going to knock his ass out again

  • i dont care what anyone says this is hilarious i do not care about mcall's well being this is awesome lol and everybody who just read the espn article on him is a clown for feeling bad great moment in boxing fucking drug addict

  • Wonder if he got paid to throw the fight?..maybe the drug rehab just over up?

Lol why the fuck he crying for?

  • @arizonastyle I think he was trying to kick his addiction if you ask me. But who knows. Whatever it was, he shouldn't have been fighting that night.

  • Comment removed

  • Not sure if Lennox could've knock McCall out with a punch

  • A guy was doing the mallwalking and Lennox doesn't even try to finished what an scared, unskilled pussy move by Lennox Really, really,REALLY this was hilarious and literally seriously funny

  • @pacu47 What a moron you are. Why the hell would Lewis be scared of a man who's refusing to fight? Lewis really showed his class here. McCall was clearly having some sort of mental breakdown. I'm sure many other fighters would have taken advantage of a mentally broken man and laid into him at that point. Lewis saw something wasn't right and held back. It's called sportsmanship.

  • @wurble Lennox Lewis was a coward with a sponge cake chin, McCall has an iron chin and never been dropped as a pro or amateur. If not for the drugs McCall ko's this bum again

  • @JoeCalzagheTheCoward Zzzzzzzz.

  • @wurble lennox was one of the best sportsmen in boxing history, a good clean fighter. bit lazy and sloppy sometimes, but clean and a fair fighter, he probley did not want to have a mclellan incedent on his concience here, he knew the referee was going to step in and do his job,its a'shame really because mcall had the tools to trouble lennox,

  • @wurble I'm not sure it's really sportsmanship or fear. The way fighters train, they are conditioned to throw punches at a certain range, when the opponent does certain specific motions. Emmanuel Steward had conditioned Lewis to throw punches from better positions and be less wild - that was the entire point of bringing Steward on after he lost to McCall in the first fight. It's just very hard for a disciplined fighter to respond to a weird situation like this. He did his best.

  • this was extremely sad to watch

  • and its a shame that this is what hes remembered for because this guy came up the hard way and killed himself to get where he was another fighter don king ruined effing shame.

  • 1 If you knew anything about the background to the story you would know McCall was fresh out of drug rehab. He had no business being in that ring and Don King and Lewis people knew that before the fight but they wanted to make money. What is really a disgrace is that people put a profit ahead of the health of McCall. Te guy had a mental break down in the ring

couldnt agree more its just a shame and sad i dont think lewis was taking advantage but king was always taking advantage

  • its crazy how the announcer totally dont understand whats going on with the guy. Do you all hear the criticism..."the guy just quit" SMH

  • Initially the announcers thought McCall was showboating. They didn't know the guy was having a fully fledged breakdown in the ring!

  • PLEASE,EXPLAIN TO ME,WHY MCCALL CRY IF SOMEBODY KNOW?THANKS!!!

  • @TERZA0 HE WAS HIGH!

  • @TERZA0 mccall was actually fresh out of drug rehab and was in no mental or physical shape to fight...but when don king is your promoter the show must go on no matter what...

  • Comment removed

  • lol mccall looked like he was payed to lose even though i'm sure he wasn't it just looked that way but i love lennox the only 2 heavyweights i like more than him is tyson and ali

  • Such a waste of talent.

  • Respect to Lewis. Floyd Mayweather would have knocked him out three seconds into the fourth round and then said, "First rule of boxing, protect yourself at all times."

  • @andan04 Mayweather wouldn't have even waited for the round to begin, but instead just gone into the locker room before fight and kicked the guy in the teeth. You didn't see his pseudo-KO couple weeks ago?

  • @ingsocof1984 I did, and I agree with your description of it. That's what I mean -- Lewis seems to have recognized that this guy was having a breakdown right there in the ring. He could have killed McCall, leaving himself defenseless like that, but had the class not to. Mayweather would have destroyed him and then tried to justify it. And then he would have cussed Larry Merchant, for some reason.

  • @andan04 lol. Quite so. :)

  • The Scottish commentator sounds exactly like Jackie Stewart(F1 champ), damn, its almost spot on :)

  • only a mentally retarded would quit

  • I keep thinking of the scene in The Royal Tennenbaums when Luke Wilson quits mid tennis match and takes off his shoes.

  • could any one please tell me, why is he crying ?

  • He mad bro.

  • They told him Mike Tyson is his brother.

  • even when he doesn't fight.. they CAN'T hurt him!! respect for mcCall

  • @carlitoboxing7 he was getting hit a lot thats why they stopped it

  • @recoroldan yeah hit a lot without gettin hurt

  • @carlitoboxing7 cause he didnt attack him, look the three previous rounds of lewis superiority,no one effective attack landed by mccall

  • @perokcojones lewis was technically superior to anybody in his era, ain't no doubt about that. but mccall had that great counter punch that intimited his opponents, ask lewis himself

  • @carlitoboxing7 agree

  • yeah something was really wrong with mcall

  • Lewis at this stage of his career would have beaten the Mccall of September 1994 easily on points or TKO.

Lewis should and would have beaton Mccall in 1994 anyway. If Lewis had just kept Mcall at distance & kept his eyes open Mccall's big, swinging counter right hand he would have been fine.

If Frank Bruno could beat Mccall clearly on points, and Lewis can KO Bruno like he did, then Lewis should have had been able to see of Mccall in 1994.

  • I just heard on ESPN radio they initially couldn't find him at first on the day of this fight but then dragged him out of a crack house to come down and fight.

  • i remember watchiung this live. i got goosbumps when i saw the corner mens face closeup. so disapointed and upset. was a sad moment for me because i lost £6000 on a bet which could have got me £12000

it was funny seeing lennox raise his gloves like he accomplished something

  • @Squeaky4CC I cannot believe you bet against Lewis??????

  • ID RATHER GO 12 ROUNDS OR GET KNOCKED OUT THEN QUIT LIKE A BITCH

  • @preoxwhygen2007 mccall is not a bitch.. he's never been down as a amateur, professional or sparring (and he's sparred thousands of rounds with mike tyson). He's got a granite chin, good skills and a very dangerous right hand (ask lewis himself). The only problem with him was mental, he just couldn't control himself sometimes and looked completely crazy other times. Drugs and alcohol don't help, also. But McCall ain't no bitch, he might have been one of the true greats, he's something special

  • Oliver is just a bad sport... the guy knew he couldn't take lennox so he just decided to be a pussy.. the imbecile even cried what a joke

If you know you are going to lose at least try to break the other guy's face this guy just took everything away from the other fighter by displaying his piece of shit attitude. If you are going to cry over losing a fight get the fuck out of boxing

  • @lhmm001 If you knew anything about the background to the story you would know McCall was fresh out of drug rehab. He had no business being in that ring and Don King and Lewis people knew that before the fight but they wanted to make money. What is really a disgrace is that people put a profit ahead of the health of McCall. Te guy had a mental break down in the ring.

  • @LBRTRN89 mcall diden't have to fight guy...he has a say

  • Lennox spared that McCall..Cry Baby

  • Lennox spared McCall.

  • McCall is a dog. He knew he couldnt touch him in this form - and he knew he couldnt get a repeat of the lucky punch he had.

  • Mccall was forced to throw the fight.

  • McCall just knew Lewis was going to lay some serious hurt on his ass and him bragging about not going to the hospital after a fight was about to be over. Just get in there and fight and earn your money you big bitch.

  • Lewis banished the memory of September 1994, regained his WBC strap and started his journey to become the undisputed champion and then cement his legacy as the best of his generation and the one of the greats of all time.

Lennox Lewis was better than Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Foreman and Larry Holmes at there peaks.

  • @opera123able PFFFFFFFFT... Yes he was good.. NO he was not better then the above mentioned in there peak. It can be argued but there is no proof as they never fought. Iron Mike at his peak v Lewis = LIGHTS OUT. Same with Holyfield as he could barely handle an older Holyfield.

  • @newnrg

You've just contradicted your own argument by on the one saying there is no proof Lewis was better than the above because they never fought, and then your saying that Iron Mike and Peak Holy at their peaks would put Lewis's lights out!!!!!! - What proof do you have that either Tyson or Holyfield at their peaks would possibly KO or even beat Lewis.???? And if you base it purely on the 2 defeats Lewis had, then I could say the same about Holy losing to Bowe twice and Michael Moorer.

  • @opera123able Just my opinion.. Could be wrong regarding Holyfield but there was no man on earth that could beat a primed Iron Mike Tyson.. Thats just fact :-)

  • @newnrg

    - How can you say its a fact when he didn't fight a primed Lewis?? In your opion he would have beaton Lewis - fair enough you can have your opion.

In my opinion prime Lewis would beat Prime Tyson on points.

  • True, it is just my opinion.. And i could be wrong :-) I loved that whole era to be honest, so many legends and great fighters!!! Tyson, Lewis, Moorer, Morrison, Bowe, Holyfield, Tua... shame it had to end

  • @newnrg

Also Tyson at his peak in 1986 only managed to go the distance against Mitch Green and James Tillis, in 1987 Bonecrusher went the distance as did Tucler who boxed well with a broken hand!! Lewis was better than those and better than Bowe who beat Holy twice, and Moorer who beat Holy.

What the hell are you on about Lewis could barley handle Holy when they did fight??!! Lewis won 8 or 9 clear rounds in the first fight, and 7 or 8 in the second - despite the cheating Holy-head butt.

  • @opera123able Come on bro, ur way off regarding Tyson. As for the Lewis v Holyfield wars, the first one was a draw and the second one was contraversial and could have gone either way... Riddick Bowe was a weapon and great athlete back in the day and u cant say Lewis was better as they never entered the same room.. Michael Moorer was also a great boxer back in the day and once again he never fought Lewis.

  • @newnrg

I'm not way off - go and look at Tyson's record and watch the Tucker fight on Youtube. It was Tyson in 1987 at his very best and he struggled against Tucker (who had a broken right hand!!). Tucker said himself that he rated Lewis as the best he ever fought - and he faced Lewis before his peak in 1993 and Tyson AThis peak in 1987. - I think Tuckers opion counts a lot more than mine or yours having actually stepped in the ring with them!!

Your facts are wrong about the Lewis v Holyfield

  • @newnrg

    - Your way off with your facts about Lewis v Holyfield and it shows how anti-Lewis you are.

The first fight was an exceptionally controversial draw decision which caused world wide uproar as everyone - including Holy's fans - could see Lewis easily won the fight, and that 2 of the Judges were crap.

Holyfield cheated in rematch because he tried to use his head like he did in his 2 fights against Tyson. Lewis still clearly won the rematch winning on every scorecard and the punch stats

  • @opera123able Dude its all good, ur obviously an INSANE lewis fan that is blinded by your passion. I agree he was a legend. Iron Mike would have knocked him out but ill give you that he may have beaten Holyfield. Although both fights were decision fights so we both know it wasnt easy and very unpredictable... Goodnight :-)

  • @newnrg

Ok comrade, but we'll never know if prime Tyson would have knocked out Prime Lewis because it could never happen, so I dont actually know and nor do you, were only speculating.

But we DO know what DID happen to Bowe in the Olympic final of 1988, to Holyfield twice in 1999 & Tyson in 2002, all at the hands of Lewis. I think your probably basing your asserions on the 2 very careless fights of Lewis's career where he got caught by elephant punches - but he avenged those losses remember.

  • @opera123able Very true.. I admit u have a great argument.. Lewis was a legend and we are lucky to have witnessed so much talent during that era :-) lets leave it at that!

  • @newnrg Thank you - you have earned my respect.

  • I would Lewis just took his head off with a huge right when Oliver was walking away from him.

  • WBC sanctioned title fights at their best.

  • This was a sad moment, I remember watching it live. I've seen a lot of guys get beat up in the ring but never one come apart psychologically and emotionally in front of the world. Get tired of all the comments calling McCall a coward. He's been fighting for 25 years, and fought a lot of tough dudes. I don't know what happened that night, but the guy is still worthy of respect for a strong career.

  • ive never seen this before. what the hell was up wit that guy??

  • Comment removed

  • the fact is lewis couldnt put him down

  • @surfinaway10afly

Mccall has never been down EVER and hes been fighting top guys into his forties, I seriously doubt anyone can.

  • @403766 I guarantee that tyson, holmes, or big george would have knocked this guy silly...

  • @swingingadam

Well the old holmes like the one who fought tyson didn't, and considering Mccall was tyson top sparring partner for many years because he could regularly take tysons punches, hes 40 + and still beatign top much bigger contenders without ever being hurt.

You think that lewis cannot do it because he is british, but any american great you assume can...

  • @403766 didn't mccall quit as tysons sparring partner because he was sick of tyson hurting him? Ive read that somewhere and there's a vid on youtube somewhere of mccall storming out of the ring when sparring with tyson because tyson hit him too hard or somethin. I agree that he does have a great chin tho. One of the best.

  • @mike649fox

I have no idea where you got that from, I'm pretty sure Mccall just wanted to turn pro. And it takes alot to go so many rounds over so many years with tyson..

  • @403766 damn, I was hopin you could shed some light on it for me. I would imagine that it would take alot out of a fighter goin so many rounds with tyson so he did the right thing.

  • @mike649fox He was hit on the hip.

  • @capablemachine yeah that's right he was! I remember now.

  • @403766

Yes somebody can. lewis would have knocked him down or even out if he kept hitting McCall as hard as he did. Even the toughest guys will go down eventually if they keep geting hit flush with huge power shots.

just look at Margarito against Mosley. In the beginning he ate all of Mosley''s shot easily. But as a lot of time and punishment went on, it took its toll and Margarito was knocked out at the end. I have no doubt Lewis would have knocked him down and out if Mccall didnt QUIT

  • McCall to me in that fight was hungry becouse Lennox is in an very good form. And Mc not accept that. An crazy horse, an good crazy horse.

  • this might be one of the most bizzare yet saddest moments in boxing history. it was sickening to watch live. im a lewis fan and really wated him to get revenge on mccall but even i didnt like the way lewis kept hitting him even though he wasnt hitting back.

  • Oliver McCall you only fack big lenox..

  • Don King, same old story, ruined a great fighter. McCall has amazing KO power and a chin just as strong as George Chuvalo.

You can see McCall had been paid off to lose this fight, why else would he be crying, refusing to punch and lowering his hands when Lennox was open? King wanted a Lewis-Tyson and McCall was in the way...such a damn shame.

  • @MrBumboclart

Oh please, he wasnt keeping his hands down when lewis was close, and he never took a dive...

And you do release Lewis SUED Don King for $4million because he didn't get his shot at fighting tyson then , so that theory doesn't seem right.

Mccall is just a complete nutjob with a granite chin end, and I bet if lewis was american you wouldnt even have thought off that.

  • @403766 Don Kings all about money. A Tyson-McCall would do nothing for him, and Tyson even had the possibility to lose to McCall, as he got his ass kicked by him regularaly in training. A Tyson-Lewis, as it did, had the chance to make an all time high boxing purse. He needed McCall out of the way so he got him to take a dive, it wasn't hard to do, as you said, because he was on drugs and mentally ill at the time.

  • @MrBumboclart Sparring is different than a real fight, Tyson fucking killed Carl Williams in round 1 and he use to be his sparring partner and Tyson made hit him so hard he quit.

  • Dont know whats worse. McCall quitting or Lewis not being able to land a decent punch on a man who is giving up with his hands down. Lewis was lucky enough to be a heavyweight when the division was and still is nothing. Oneof the most overrated and boring champs to ever hold the belts. Very talented but boring none the less.

  • @rrmond

Oh shut up whinning yank, just because Lews beat every american out there at the time, and mccalls hands weren't down whilst he was close to lewis dumbass, and the divsion was the toughest since the 70's what the fuck do you mean hater?
