  • Never been a particular Ferrari fan but the F40 has always been one of my all time favourite cars, ever since it was launched. It's just an all business, take no prisoners type of car !

    I think of it as a modern 250 GTO !!

    I'm sure it's just backfire...hot fuel meeting oxygen and igniting in the exhaust pipes. 

  • ArthrusGigawitAnteon, the work on these cars are usually carried out thru the Ferrari network. Been to Classic Coach once, pretty impressive facility

  • Jcadlols, these motors are built to the teeth. Get proper maintenance and support & rebuilt with regularity. More than a couple have larger displacement engines over 3.0L. I think up to 3.6 on the F40LM/GTE, but not 100% on that.

  • My F40 R-TE will smoke that thing :P

    800 HP > 2.4 sec 0-100 > 4 Gears > lots of downforce...

    BTW R-TE = RETARD TERROR EDITION = in TDU1 ...

  • @ArthrusGigawitAnteon I may be wrong, but I believe that the LM motor was relatively closely related to the road motor. I believe it mostly consisted of larger turbos and more boost. :)

  • @jcadlols That is correct to my knowledge. I still wanted to know where it came from though. A rebuilt motor for a F40 would probably be a tough job.

  • @ArthrusGigawitAnteon Most engine builders who have experience with racecars would probably be okay. My point was that to my knowledge, as the car is already setup for high boost, I believe the internals are standard. Getting hands on original parts is probably the harder part. :)
