"..Like peeling a banana..except that it was full of people.." When this was airing live, I could hardly believe what I'd just heard. I wrote it down on a scrap of paper for some now-forgotten reason. If not for the fact that thousands of lives were shattered in the event, I think that this quote would be laughable. Ten years, several military engagements, hundreds of billions of dollars, and countless maimings and deaths later, I still find the banana-peeling analogy pretty awkward. Peace, PJ.

If the buildings had been "bending" or "leaning," they would have fallen in that particular direction; not straight down. Obvious nonsense.
