  • haha i didn't know churches like this still existed! it's like something from a movie.

  • This sermon could have been exactly how God intended it for somebody ears in the church that day and nothing more or for some other reason. Im not going to try and question it for what God has used it for. But if you would like to come visit our church and feel the spirit of God and worship with us to see and feel for yourselves, shoot me a message and I'll give you directions. God bless you.

  • I heard a preacher say one time that he listened to his sermon afterwards, and had noticed how he could have said more or wished he said more and others like wise from time to time. But we are not perfect and could not say anything as perfect as Jesus did. We need to be followers after Christ and pray for our brothers and encourage them and love them, not speak against them, which I am guilty of sometimes.

  • Hey guys I want to thank you for all your comments and thoughts. But just to give a thought in your conversation I know this brother personally because he is my Pastor. The Freewill Baptist believe in worshipping in spirit and truth, as well preaching John4:24. We do not have prepared or pre-orginized service and sermons or Bible series. We are Holy Ghost filled Christians that believe in letting Jesus do the preaching, he gives the message through his spirit.

  • amen! but don't you stop working for your salvation! because its of your freewill!

  • Preach on brother, preach on. Good to hear there are more spirit moved preachers out there. I'm not alone!

  • Please don't stop reading the scriptures when it fits your "traditions" this scripture has a context and I assure you this man much less cares. Continue reading further my friends through John chapter 6. Don't stop at verse 35 read on to 44 and further on.

You don't need a smooth talker preacher to explain what God has already said! ^.^

  • @theembracedofgod Really, what exactly is the point and meat of what you are saying. Do you know him personally to know his traditions? He didn't say anything contrary to the word of God.

  • @athames100

My apologies, My point is that this preacher reads one verse and then started off on a tangent on the passage relative to it... the thing is he didn't even get to the meat of that entire context of john 6.

of course I could have been little hard on him, but I assumed when I read "free will" I thought of Arminanism and therefore became sensitive to it.

  • @theembracedofgod It's alright, you are zealous. I don't follow John Calvin, Martin Luther, or Jacobus Arminius. I read the word of God. Mens teachings versus the word of God = going after the doctrines of men. Book of Acts: you may say you're of Paul, Peter or Apollos, they all agree as one. Not living it = not going to heaven. Calvin - reprobate, SBC - Never saved, Free Will - Backslidden or Apostate - All say not going to heaven. Agree as one, just different angle.

  • @athames100

Everyone is zealous- yes even you.

You told me not to follow after men but of the word of God- this assertion is rooted in confusion since the Word of God contains the letters of Paul who later were more explicitly explained by the reformers who split from the Roman Catholic church, if anything you should thank John Calvin for his convictions and writings.

I was confused on what you ended your comment on... it just didn't make any sense to me.

  • @theembracedofgod I don't deny it that I am zealous, and said that you were as well. It's good to be zealous for God. Everything in the blessed book is the Word of God. Paul's letters are still the Word of God. I follow THE WORD, and not the writings of men. I don't have a problem with John Calvins convictions, but his statements are HIS and not GODS. By that, I stand on the Word of God. Forget Calvin, Arminius, and everyone else. Follow Christ, and the Word of God.

  • @athames100

awesome, I don't have a problem with the word of God either, 2Ti 3:16, and 2Ti 4:2 however I don't agree with your assertion that Mr Calvin's statements aren't from God.... I'd have to remind you that Calvin used extreme caution when exegeting the text of scripture *note; he believed in sola scriptura- in which you also believe. Arminius was a heretic that had to be addressed because he introduced universalism into the belief system of Christianity which isn't biblical.

  • @theembracedofgod Don't get caught up so much in theology, because you are going off on someone without even listening. Christ used portions of scripture teach, would you say to him "You didn't get to the meat!"?. I know theology, I know many teachings but I leave them all behind and follow Christ. Tearing each other up does nothing for the kingdom of God. Just makes people say, "look at them fighting again" and the devil gets the victory. Leave Free Will's alone, and chase the devil.

  • @athames100

My friend! Theology matters! Without correct doctrine and theology Christian ethics is just merely another system confused as the rest of the "faiths" out there... having a relationship with Christ is to completely understand your theology- you can't have one without the other otherwise you would support Mormons calling themselves Christians then I see how you would have a problem here.

  • @theembracedofgod Theologians have been battling one another for years. The church has gotten farther and farther away from sound doctrine because theologians have argued. People laugh at us because of it. Then you have splits because some want to get drunk so they form another denomination. Theology goes away with a simple Word of God: Pure religion and undefiled is this, visit the fatherless and the widow in their affliction. Love the Lord with all thy heart, mind, soul and strength....

  • @athames100

there is no battle... because the issue has been resolved from the start with "allowing the context of scripture to speak for itself" because when you do this, then you don't have to extract from your own understanding of the scripture but extract the textual meaning from the scripture allowing the writer to speak to the audience it was meant to be spoken to. The reformers have been beating this drum for a very long time.

  • @theembracedofgod I would take it that you are a calvanist?

  • @athames100

I do agree with John Calvin's teachings on how the gospel is organized. Does that make me a calvinist?

your probably reformed too- the first baptists of the reformation were. do you think I could ask you some questions?

  • @theembracedofgod ask away. email is faster and less drag time. drop the 100 on my name @ gmail dot com.

  • Amen!
