You are definitely improving on your single bass drum speed. And you have that kick drum camera angle to show it. Really nice! The open stance on the hi-hats is something I want to learn. I think I watched a video of Aaron Spears doing that. Cool drumming everywhere in this video. I got to read the comments and I know you did a great job in this video because so many are happy with it. Including me. :)
@Drumizta Thanks a lot for voting Stephen! I'm not sure we'll make it through, but we'd have tried anyway. :)
I've had time to practice my single bass drum yeah. I need to have it stronger though. We can't hear it well :( Thank you sooo much for the compliments and for commenting on my videos Stephen :D That's great to have a friend like you, thanks :)
@ptitepoulettedu91 YES!! IT DEFINITLY shows that youve had time to work on the kicking, SINGLE at that!! the "off time" work is top knotch too. sounds wise,,its sounds very solid here, the little quick piece at 2:51 with out usung 2nd pedal is i,presive. i use 2 to do that .
Chloe! Fantastic. Just overall fantastic. And a huge compliment from the man himself! -JimmyK. That's huge! =D And you deserve it. Seriously, the intro is cute as hell. It's nice to see that as opposed to just a black screen or something. Your confidence with your left hand is huge. I have serious respect for MikesDrumLessons. He is helping to teach new drummers incredibly fast. I wish YT had been around when I was a kid! hahaha. Can't wait to see more! See you on Facebook. =)
@octoberdays Hi Tony :D Thank youuuuuu! You're great :) Jimmy's comment made my day! And i was stocked when i saw he subscribed to my channel few weeks ago. He is a really awesome drummer, i feel lucky! :D Thank you thank you thank you haha :) Well i've been taking MikesLessons for 3 month now, and they are great. He gave me motivation and made me want to practice a lot more, and he gave me confidence, too. He's a great teacher. See youuu :)
@ThePranock - No I'm not taking lessons from Mike. I just see him all over the web and the people he's teaching lessons to and it's just really cool to see. I would recommend him to just about anyone.
Awesome cover :) You have improved a lot very fast but I think you need to work a little on the sound you make. I noticed that you are just doing normal strokes on the snare but I think you should be doing rimshots (hitting the head and rim at the same time). I haven't heard Mike ever talk about them but he does them all the time on the 2 and 4 in rock beats. It will make your rock beats sound more professional and aggressive and will soon just become natural to you.
@JoelandMitch Hey Mitch, thanks. LOL i know what a rimshot is haha. I don't play because i don't think it's needed... that's a drumming style we could use or not. i've learned them at music school for accents in latin beats mostly. I could play them but don't see anything interesting in it, except the attack of the stroke and the sound it makes. And i'm not sure about your professional argument lol... Anyway i'll ask Mike about it ;D
@ptitepoulettedu91 Oops, I obviously underestimated you :) Sorry lol :P. If you actually make a decision not to rimshot that is much better than not knowing how to :). I guess it all comes down personal preference and I personally prefer the loud aggressive sound of rimshots on most rock songs and that's what it sounds like the 30stm drummer is doing.
Wow, really good cover. I'm a drumer in training myself and if you have any tips, hit me up with a message. Realy awesome cover! Always have liked 30 Seconds to Mars, but I never take the time to look 'em up more than I hear them. So Great Job!
@F0uLy u mean the sound or the pillows in it ? :) Pillows are normal, the sound is different because that's the first time i'm using a recorder instead of my camcorder's mic, so i may need to tune it a different way now :)
