  • awesome interview, Suzanne Vega is amazing.

  • it looks like she was just sitting down enjoying some coffee when she got swamped by interviewers

  • Gorgeous......

  • Great, honest .. and tender insight into the realities of motherhood. Ruby is a lucky girl - and quite lovely!!! She looks alot like Mom! ;-) Thanks for posting.

  • yeah she goes to my school

  • Wow, her daughters pretty! Probably close to my age too...ahem. hahah!

  • Lucky guy ;) I'm sure she's got a great personality if Suzanne is anything to go by

  • @nicck She is about 17 or so now.

  • What an interesting woman.

  • Yeah, how many of us could have used a mom like her??? Surely would save a good few years of painful self-discovery.

Thanks for posting the interview. It's so much better to hear it straight from the horse's (no disrespect!) mouth--too many other people blathering on about other people these days!

  • Hey! That's a nice interview. Suzanne Vega is such a level-headed person and a great song-writer!

  • the term intellectual( she used that term) is not normally so flattering in the art world, but that is only the beginning with SusanV. The rest is simply beautiful music/lyric. a total genius..

  • She rocks! I love her!

  • what a beautiful woman

  • Suzanne Vega sure has taste...

Just listen to that passage. Sounds like the kind of mom that would never embarrass you.

  • Thank you for posting this interview!! I relate to trying to hold onto the things that represent YOur child ... they grow up so fast!! Suzanne is so real and honest!! Love her for that!

  • She didn't really care about lyrics unless they had animals in the songs, which I wasn't really writing about...

    Very charming and funny.

Although she writes such complex lyrics about deep inner feelings and sometimes dark issues, she is also a simple person. I like that about her. She's so complete.

    Go on Suzanne!

  • No matter what anyone says, she is a babe...yum:-)

  • Bad angle and lighting, makes her look older than she is.....but it's S/V so it doesn't matter, always awesome.

  • ***LOL***

That's right - not very flattering,

but then again: who cares, the real beauty comes from within anyway.

  • Brains, talent and charm, she's still awesome after all these years. Thanks for always standing up for your own music, it's not everyone that maintains this level of integrity in face of fame and success.

  • She's brilliant & a hard worker. I saw her in the 80's ( even opened for her in '85, when she was performing Luka, but hadn't recorded it yet) & then a couple years ago. Her musicianship is still flawless & her voice still pristine, haunting & angelic. And she continues to crank out some damn amazing songs! I was floored by In Liverpool & thought her classics were as fresh as ever. And now her newest stuff is great! Zephyr ROCKS! A gorgeous being in every way she is! I'd love to meet her again.

  • Hmm... She was so young! She looks so much older, but she still sounds the same.

  • A perfect example of a milf

  • Still babelicious after all these years. Love to have a drink with her and just talk. Articulate, artistic, intelligent women are the bomb. JayMazz is right, she speaks poetically and it's mesmerizing in its own way.

  • She is a great mom!

  • she seems to have a serious break in her artistic approach. a person at her level of abstraction must have had a hard time putting things back together once a small blue thing breaks them apart.

  • Who is murdered in the background. May I ask?

  • I love her and I know she's beautiful, but I have to say... That is some VERY unflattering light & camera angle.

  • The camera guy needs his fun too. So leave him alone.

  • I agree. I don't think the lighting in this video or the angle of the camera is particularly flattering.

  • yes...the video has horrible contrast and color hue.

  • (Not that you being a jerkoff bothers me...)

  • Terrific insight and charm as always.

Wikiwikiwakk, if you ever find yourself in the vicinity of a woman this beautiful in real life, your mind (clearly deeply insecure over...what exactly?) would no doubt leave you a stammering imbicile. Stick to the net instead, but keep in mind that you're not just talking into a void.

I can only say this for you Wiki - may YOU never ever grow old. There is an alternative, I believe...

    Jerk.

  • well black arm - your obvious over reaction to such a transparently shallow comment speaks volumes about your currnt state of mind. Chill out please

  • excuse me, blackarmofthelaw. i do believe i said IT DOESNT BOTHER ME AND SHE STILL ROCKS. i simply had a different image of her in my mind when i first heard her. and the fact that you told me im deepy insecure about something....please dont even go there, okay? you don't know me. shut the fuck up.

  • i luv her forever!!!

  • she is so sweet.

  • Just saw her in concert in Chicago. Met her after the concert. She's as beautiful as ever and it was a great concert. Dream come true. She's very funny on stage.

  • been listening to the quieter side of hers since 80s. though little nervous in this interwiew, she´s still thoughtful sensitive and creative being using every step of her life for creating different sound and conveying different thoughts. bless You Sue...

  • ew i didn't know she was old.

not that it bothers me. i just pictured a very different image. she still rocks.

  • You're in trouble!

  • where was this filmed; it looks like some kind of restaurant patio?

  • the girl is pretty, the new album is great.

  • 'Beauty & Crime' is just AMAZING

  • 3:09

    Is that her daughter?

If so, how old is she, she looks like her mom.

  • her daughter was born july 1994, so it might be her on the picture. does anyone know for sure?

  • My parents used to keep all my teeth as well, so the 'Tooth Fairy' was dead by the time I was six. I didn't have the heart to tell them..plus, I wanted the money to keep coming.

I saved such vestigial remnants when my kids were little, too. Didn't want to lose any 'parts' of them. Teeth, umbilical cords after they fell off, you name it.

Love Suzanne's candor. Wish she had been in my 'play group' years ago...

  • amazing! i can listen to her sing OR speak anytime. her manner of speaking is almost poetic. lol @ her outting the tooth fairy!

  • love Suzanne !
