You know that person in the school bus driving across the crossing when the gates were going down you could've turned that video into the school transporation people and that drive would have gotten in BIG trouble because that is a HUGE no no.

@WhistlepostWP Love the Video btw, though on the School Bus part, if it was a Seminole Co. School Bus, assuming that the procedure was the same as down in Orange Co. the Driver is supposed to come to a full stop, open the front Window and Door to look and listen to see if anything is coming by. On Clip #1 (and I haven't been there in a while, so I could be off), is that right by the Appliance Direct? Seem to remember tracks right next to it.

Yeah, the Silver Star/Meteor use to have them behind them behind the baggage car. They were 10-6 Pullman Sleepers converted to crew dorm cars.

Several posters have noted that at about 2:48, a school bus crosses the tracks even after the gates have started to come down (meaning the signals have probably already been operating for 10-15 seconds). It's possible the bus was empty (i.e., no kids aboard) and the law did not require empty school buses to stop; however, even if that was the case, it was foolish and dangerous of the driver to cross the tracks after the signals had been activated.

The bus was empty. However, what makes that particular crossing annoying is that it is near the end of a double track siding. This means that some long frieghts [i.e. coal trains] will stop and block the intersection to wait for a passing train. Still, no excuse for the bus driver, but thats probably why he was in a rush...

The horn salutes are great on this track! But, I'd really like to know if the school buses in that town always run through crossings as the red lights are flashing and the gates are already coming down with bells ringing while mega-ton trains are fast approaching. I'm sure that the parents of the children who ride these buses would be comforted to know that drivers like this one are trying recreate trains and the keystone cops - - with their children on board.

Alot of people in central Florida drives like this and it's getting worse. The recent passage of Amendment 1 has caused the courts to cut positions and its ability to collect money from traffic tickets. This means that even if you do get a ticket, there's a good chance you won't actually pay the fine.

Well, the bus didn't really drive around the gates, he drove under them before they came down. Yes, by law they are supposed to stop for every crossing gate, but he didn't care. Floridians don't have a reputation for safe driving anyhow! lol.

BTW you emailed me about the Sunset Limited. I do have videos of this train. I will post more of it in the future. In the mean time if you look at my video Railfan Longwood, you will see 2 appearances of the Sunset.

Like I said, the engineers on this line really like my dad and I =D. We use to railfan this line like everyday, so the local engineers were always looking out for us. We always smile and wave at them and talk to them at station breaks. They return the favor by blowing the horn and giving us free stuff. This is only a sample of what most of my home videos are like. BTW I don't remember seeing any kids on that bus in the 5th clip, but the driver was still wrong.
