I stayed at the Luxor in Vegas in '08. The directions to my room were "Go across the lobby, down the corridor past the first Starbucks, around the corner past the second Starbucks..."
Originally they were building a new store across the street, planning to close the old one once the new one opened. Once the new one was ready both the stores had more than enough sales to stay open. To this day both locations are still in operation.
go to seattle; I went to a mall with a starbucks kiosk on the first floor, a starbucks on the 2nd floor, and more starbucks across the street from the mall in every direction
Yes Lewis Black was right. I was in Montreal where you couldn't get a cup of coffee before 7am almost ANYWHERE. I wanted to walk out of my hotel at 6am and wonder down the street to find a coffee shop....NONE OPEN! I had to walk 7 blocks to the STARBUCKS...thank you starbucks....maybe they need two in close proximity there!
Once I was in Victoria BC, and I got lost and ended up finding a corner where on three of the four corners there was a starbucks. I still can't find it again XD
People that go there alot are nuts, pay $4 bucks for a coffee. Buy a top of the line coffee machine for 1600 bucks and you'll save lots over so many years to come.
I hate the one on the south. And they're both so f-ing busy, there's no seats in either one. They have to put up a third one where Banana Republic is or something...

It's amazing that they've managed to stay afloat when they're actually competing with themselves for business!
