The police they they just don't give a rats ass they arent afraid of terrorists they are afriad of you..Someone should tell them V for Vendetta was a movie not a template on how to govern..Welcome to the Stasi state comrade.
You focus on ant hills and miss the Mountain. Almost all State Constitutions used "God", as did the Declaration of Independence (along with "Creator"). The Congress frequently opened with prayer, etc. Atheism, and the forced imposition of the religion of secular humanism (which is a state-sponsored religion), is relatively new. (Note I am not even religious, but your point is sophomoric.)
Also Republicans aren't responsible for MN police - that state is run by DEMOCRATS. DUH!
The fight between those who would parade their supernatural opinions around and those true professionals who endeavored to modestly keep their personal religious feelings private is not old. Franklin wanted prayers before every constitutional convention meeting. He was voted down. Sure there was god-talk, but the Constitution, of course, does not mention any deities. They were influenced by the enlightenment thinkers who held that law could be derived from reason, i.e. secular humanism.
Thanks for posting this and letting us know about Amy and the illegal arrest of reporters. I am not at all happy with what is brewing. I hope the true intention of Separation of Church and State will be brought to light in this election. It must.
actually Palin could very well know that the Founding Fathers had nothing to do with the Pledge or "Under God" But would still say exactly what she did.
Because most of the people who will vote Republican don't know. And the rest will act as apologists for them.
Without this ignorance, the GOP (and the Democrats for that matter) could not get away with all the bad stuff they do.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

So what do you mean..."...Also Republicans aren't responsible for MN police - that state is run by DEMOCRATS. DUH"
The governor of Minnesota is Tim Pawlenty, member of the Republican party, and he was very close to being McCain's running mate.
Please get your facts straight.

booley, Winston Churchill said the best argument against democracy was a five minute conversation with the average voter. He was correct.
