Yeah, it's so much better to have a pack of elitist socialists dictating our diet, our lightbulbs, our cars, our video games for us, rather than eeeevil corporations which exist to make money, not control people.
We are already in "Corporate Society", it's just that many of us don't know it! Thunder Arc released a music on Youtube about our corrupt U.S. government, incorporating the 1975 "Rollerball" movie & John Carpenters 1988 "They Live" with my real life experience & Washington D.C. The music video is called " Butterflies Marching" :)
If you love this film, you should read "Market Forces" by Richard Morgan. It's got the same feel to it; except based in London and looking at the world through the eyes of junior executive...with him struggling to keep his soul and his individuality in the face of a brutal corporate society.
the important thing to remember is that corp.'s don't fear other corp.'s or groups but they fear the individual cult of personality. why? because as humans we are hard wired to follow strong personalities with the emphasis on person. we all feel it when a carismatic person enters our lives and we want them to represent and lead us; to show us our better side and what we all can be. princess diana, john kennedy, mlk these trump corp. power-maybe that is why they are gone.
Un James Caan scatenato...il suo orgoglio e determinazione ha battuto un sistema che controllava la vita di ogni uomo. Grandissimo film unico nel suo genere. Colonna sonora formidabile.
@tszubasc I have to agree that we're all not far away from living in a "Corporate Society". Has for the crowd occupying Wall Street, I think more good would be done if they occupied good old Washington D.C.
I swear, us living here in the "modern" western world are living this shit. MMA, Boxing, sports stars living like gods, corporate America, technology advancing at a hyper-frightening rate making us all drones. Maybe that's why I love dystopian films so much, someday our Rome will fall.
This movie shits all over the remake!!!

@Dodec84 - no, corporations exist to make money by producing a product or service and exchanging it for money. Entirely different mindset.

@Hiraghm and with advertisments they control people to buy their products

If there's one message in this film it's this: The individual in a "Corporate Society" is extinct.

@alonenjersey Occupy Wall Street is occuring for this exact reason. WE ALREADY PRACTICALLY LIVE IN A CORPORATE SOCIETY.
