  • Doctor shit talker please leave the Anti-lock Braking System to the automotive specialists and keep butchering people just the way you do so. I bet your car hasnt got roadworthy suspension keeping your tyres from contacting the road, reducing your braking distance and makes you to think that the road is too bumpy! LoL Idiot...

  • The US ads are NOTHING compared to these ads, which is a shame because it would help a lot more.

  • Holy fuck

  • if he looked in the first place he wouldnt of got hit

  • the sad thing is that he won't die from the car hitting his body at that speed rather than his head hitting the ground when he lands ..

  • @40390576 I still don't understand the mentality of somebody who sees a video like this and responds "fake!" like they're exposing some grand conspiracy. Did you get no response at all then? Can you tell me where you found his details?

  • Back then they were telling us to cut ten K's off our speed. Many years later they are STILL telling us to wipe off another 5. It appears some people weren't listening.

  • the question still there, is this a real footage? but for me it seems real!

  • @KelvongKlein If people think this is real, they're massive idiots.

  • @KelvongKlein Is that a real pizza, lol.

  • rear brakes dont work?:]

  • Yet, I will continue to speed, because in America people don't run into the streets, and my car stops in 107 feet. An average car stops in 120 feet.

  • @Mogul20478 Really? I hope you'll never be corrected then.

For the sake of the other guy.

  • Comment removed

  • @Mogul20478 Are you really that stupid? And I thought most Americans had common sense, but now I guess not. I'm sorry to have overestimated you Americans, I hope you can forgive me.

  • @malbert34 so what, some areas are 40, most are 50 or 60, the point is, is that the faster you go, the longer the stopping distance thats basic physics

  • i dont agree with this, its his fault for not looking both ways

  • Poor pizza

  • Oh come on trolls, how hard is it not to put the pedal to the metal.

You obviously need to slow down on town roads.

The man crosses the road without looking because he's pretty darn sure the road is clear.

He may be a local, besides of the road being a town road where obviously it's just silly to go fast on.

If you drive too fast, you have lesser time to react and you'll kill him, no matter if he looked before crossing or not.

  • it is real ?

  • @kogitto Are you serious?

  • @wuzzlevideos yea, i think it can be.

  • natural selection

  • ROFLOL dumbass dropped my damn pizza!

  • I couldn't agree more! I've come THIS close to getting run over. Between slowing down and watching what's in front of you, you'd be less likely to hit a pedestrian.

  • Yeah, or maybe walk on a zebra cross

  • Yeah thats what they've been trying to tell us for years. If any object weighing 1.5 tonnes hits something weighing 65kg's, it obvious who will come off 2nd best. It doesnt matter how fast either is going. LOL, Eventually they'll lower the speed limits to 5km/h so people on foot(like this guy) can walk faster than the cars, therfore ensuring people never get hit by cars again. Thats Vicraods logic ifyou think about it!

  • @dethbyspud Yes but the slower you're going, if something out of the ordinary happens, you may be able to stop or hit them at a MUCH reduced speed, lowering injury. It really isn't rocket science, but the amount of motorists who are so childish about it really concerns me. Nobody is saying you can't drive your cars, it's just about making sure that everybody looks out for everybody else. There is no "war on the motorist" despite what the right-wing press may think.

  • the pedestrian should look out to soo that they dont get hit too

  • The guy walks out onto the street without looking and gets hit by a car.

    Speeding is to blame apparently.....

  • @mrclown88 The point is not that anybody who hits somebody is automatically at fault. You always have to take these adverts with a pinch of salt as they have to grab attention etc. The point is that you shouldn't be going fast enough so that if something strange happens, you have no chance of reacting. That's why we have speed limits set to certain limits in certain areas. It's an incredibly hard balance. and we ALL need to do our bit to save lives.

  • if some people are so stupid that they step into the road without looking, them i'm afraid it's a case of natural selection! i feel sorry for the driver and whoever ordered the pizza!

  • You are being extremist. I never said speeding was okay. I simply said that we should be less annul and revenue raising in approach to speed & look at other factors. Yes I am talking about staying at the basic level of year 10. And no I wasn't the brain at school. You don't know me. You display no discipline or restraint in your reply. I could not imagine you on the road. So because you did not stay means you don't want to encourage others to stay at school to basic level year 10.

  • @robinhood2be I think it's just really annoying to see people flaunting speed or trying to say they're better than anyone else. I get sick and tired of people being childish and whiney because someone is trying to look out for them so they don't die :) Yes, the current way police forces worldwide enforce traffic laws is a little shitty, but it's still an important task and people shouldn't be so cavalier about safety.

  • @wuzzlevideos Agree. However I think it's over the top there is only 3km grace in 70, 80 & 100 km speed zones where if you don't continually watch your speedo & not the road you are over the limit. I think these areas should be 10% with 60, 50 & 40 km zones 3km grace. Tell me what is the harm in year 10 have driving practice? TAC have said "More Practice." Also I want you to know I lost 2 friends to drink driving were the one car hit a friend coming the wrong way. I'm objective on the issue.

  • @robinhood2be Over in the UK it's widely believed that the police give you 10% each way, but it's not always that simple. Sorry about your friends :(

  • Comment removed

  • More factors to accidents than speed. Driver error, control of a vehicle & unthinking pedestrians crossing the road. 40 km zones are unworkable. 50 km zones with grace 3 km over the limit. All other areas should be 10%. In year 10 all students should do driver education with lessons on how to avoid accidents. Should be mandatory b4 getting learners permit. This responsible policy. Keeps kids in year 10. If they don't have the discipline or stability to stay @ school

    they aren't stable to drive.

  • @robinhood2be You're a genius. Did they call you "The Brain" at school? I love the Neanderthals whom have convinced themselves that speeding is ok for "good drivers." "If they don't have the discipline or stability to stay at school they aren't stable to drive." What the fuck does that even mean?

  • What the fuck? Why would the speed limit be 70 down a road as narrow as that?

  • @Donavan68 Remember that in Australia they use kph not mph.

  • I said: 'No pepperoni on my pizza'

  • I was shown this advert by my Local Police at a school lecture. The message they said was "don't cross the road between parked vehicles".

  • He didn't mention anything about what happens to the pizza

  • Im sure we have all been walking longer then we have been driving so why not teach people to pivot their necks and look both ways? that will also reduce the crash rates!

  • I'm sorry but the doctor is very wrong, his knowledge of maths and physics is very poor, 70 km/h is the same as 70.000 meters/3600 seconds, it means you are moving at 19,44 met/sec, if you are moving at 60 km/h you are making 16,67 met/sec, so the improvement in the speed decrease is 2,78 m/s, so the pedestrian has the same fate.

  • Why don't these guys do special effects for movies?

  • It's the driver that is the guilty???

The guy cross the street and the driver is the guilty...Unbelivable...

  • Not quite sure how driving at 70kph means you hit them at 46kph, while driving at 60kph means you stop with a couple of metres spare...

  • @masterbakery OK, think of this. You're doing 10 m/s. Every second you cover 10 metres. But if you break and start taking off speed, you start to travel less distance every second. So the last part of your total speed doesn't a lot of distance to disappear. Make sense>

  • @wuzzlevideos Nah, it's a load of shit.

There are too many other factors to take into account rather than speed. Driver awareness, vehicle capabilities, visibility, road conditions, even how many passengers are in the car or how much fuel is in the tank all affect stopping distance.

If the person walks out 5m further away, then you won't hit them at 70. If they walk out 5m closer, you'll still nail them even if you are doing 60.

All of this is beside the point - why are they on the road??????

  • seriously, why don't they use the emergency brake, it stops the car twice as fast! even though it hurts the car, could have saved his life

  • waste of good pizza if you ask me

  • Hmmm odd... shouldnt the red one have been going faster...?

  • I never knew it was an ad, I thought it was real!

  • IDEH

  • for a trauma surgeon he knows alot about cars,

i'd rather have him changing my oil that stitching me up...

  • or does he know alot about cars, because of the amount of dickheads that he has to fix because of speed?

  • @StRuMzNdRuMz i can understand that your friend or relative was involved in a bad accident and i sympathize. I just think there is a better way to spread awareness about speeding than these gory videos...

  • @timorz99 those gory videos aren't a friend of relative, they are me.....

  • @timorz99 also, my accident is only going to be seen by the rest of the nation in september anyway on Crash Investigation Unit.... i was hit head on by a truck doind OVER 100km p/h and im alive, i think its all left to fate as to whether you survive or not :D

  • it was his fault. Darwin.

  • has anyone but me realised that regardless of the speed of the car an accident was inevitable as even at 50kmh which is the speed limit now that 'person' would still have been hit by the car

  • doing 50K's and the dickhead walks out on the road 3 sec earlier would see the same injuries.............. people need to look before walking out on the street.,... This ad shits me.

  • hurr durr, im gonna walk out onto traffic without looking...

he dies. not fit to survive this environment. deal with it

  • @ChrisSheaffe "The Darwin Awards" - Honoring those who improve the species...by accidentally removing themselves from it!

  • @Kelly2357 lol that's funny

  • That car doesn't have ABS it's clearly completely locked up at the front and still rotating on the rear. Pretty serious stuff.

  • ABS does not reduce stopping distance. It keeps the wheels from locking, and enables the driver to steer.

That said, the car has clearly been tampered with - all four wheels would lock in that scenario.

  • Clearly the same thing I have stated. but you forget the VN commodore/dunnydoor has no abs capabilities. This is merely the point I am trying to get across. therefore a worse and less capable vehicle for stopping on a dime than a later model. k?

  • ABS makes no difference to stopping distance. None whatsoever.

  • Yeah mate. I see you clearly missed the point of my comment and don't understand anything about brakes safe braking distances. Go change some brakes and learn about how they work and then let me know what you think. or thunk The slower you travel the better your chances of stopping before you have an accident.

Remember your stopping distance and rate of travel can mean the difference between life or death.

  • As an IAM qualified driver I think I'm quite capable of commenting on the overall effectiveness of brakes, and having replaced my own brakes on several occasions I understand how they work.

ABS is designed to allow you to steer the car while braking. It is not designed to reduce braking distances.

  • It Does Really. Brakes Lock, Basicly Like a Handbrake, ABS Keeps the wheels rolling. If you Have Forza MS Try Stopping a Car at 70 Mph With and without ABS. You Will See the difference!!

  • Oh yeah I don't give a shit about abs braking capabilities. All I know is that I am a competent and capable driver and I am mature enough to drive within my abilities making allowances for conditions and surroundings.

  • @PeowPeowPeowLasers

    thats not the point

  • lmao.

  • 15 km/h more and you wouldnt of hit him at all

  • It's too hard to see!

  • if this car had ABS it wouldnt have killed the man

  • its 50kph now this is a really old ad

  • From 1997

  • How is this not the pedestrian's fault for not looking where he was going.

  • WAIT! 0:05 sec! Someone is on the screen, then there is a doll!

  • Hi is this real?

I SAW THIS CLIP 7 YEARS AGO.

This time I can see it again.

    Was it a real accident?

    Somobedy knows?

  • No, it's not real

  • Yes i think so. Someone appeared on the creen right before man takes a car.

  • I still buy Chinese food from the restaurant you can see behind the man :)

  • He said "oh my god"

and yes, it is fake <_<

if you're not sure you should be

  • The pizza is wasted

  • Adelaide city was 60 and change now 40kph drive. That's good safe SA!

  • look befor crossing the road, you'll be amazed how well it works in stoping being run over

  • Did you watch ALL of the video...?

  • Or if the fucking idiot pedestrian was looking he wouldn't have gotten hit, I don't have consideration for idiots so fuck off

  • your seriously sick in the head, that could have been your father, brother or grandfather.

  • so this is fake right

  • No, they went and ran over some guy so they could use it in an advert. /sarcasm

    What do you think?

  • idk thats why i asked smh...

  • Bahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know right

  • Somers Parade, Altona. :)

  • Look on Google street view :-)

  • wait ur not making any sense

  • @s3tTz wot about somers parade, altona?

  • @s3tTz ARGH!! your right it is osmers parade, the fish and chip shop there isi THE BEST!

  • @StRuMzNdRuMz Yeah, I remember dad driving me to school back in '97 when they were filming this ad that day. Dunno about the fish n chip shop, but Best in the West Pizza certainly lives up to the name! :)

Ironically, the bloke carrying the pizza . . . the Pizza shop is on the opposite end of the street! Unless, he ducked into the Milk Bar for whatever reason... :)

  • @s3tTz God it really is weird seeing people talk about the local area in the video. Thanks for the insight

  • @s3tTz hahaha not any more! 1.5 tonnes of commodore just owned him

  • @s3tTz Haha, I am an Altona boy and watched them filming this when I was in Year 12. All I remember about Best in the West Pizza is that fucking spaghetti pizza that dude used to sell. It was hideous.

  • haha i can remember ads like this but it was from 60km/h to 50 whats next 40?

  • Actually now it is 40. In NSW, we have graphic ads about little children being careless, running into the street and getting hit by a car. Oh that bloody fanbelt will haunt me forever!

  • at 0.28 if you look closely you can see a figure behind the blue van with a string holding up the dummy on the road and u can see the string if u watch closely through the rest of the slowed clip pretty cool

  • IS pizza ok?

  • is that real?

  • when i was about 8 or 9 i was in the front seat while mum was driving down the main street of town, she was under the speed limit and this idiot just ran onto the road right infront of the car and mum slammed on her brakes and just missed him by litterally inches and then he started hurling abuse at mum cause HE didnt look b4 he stepped onto the road, mum was white and shaking like hell and couldnt drive for over a month

  • speeders have small dicks everyone knows

  • the moral should've been-invest in a car with better brakes, you yobbo fuck.

  • Wher is a Pizza!!!! RESCUE PIZZA!!

  • Oh shit... this was a pepperoni for me!!! Special delivery... yeah, right.

  • OMFG OMFG!!! IS THE PIZZA OK!?!?!?!

  • hahaha

  • lol :]

  • It's just fake. It's doll body! Lol.

  • Good advertisement.

  • Whoa I found this through your comment in the other video. I'm not laughing so much anymore. Thanks for the post.

  • Pedestrian should have looked where he was going. What happened to educating pedestrians? No such thing as a jaywalk camera to justify and no money in fining them, right?

  • it would have been funny if he had a pizza the 2nd time and the doctor said "at 60k he would have just dropped his pizza"

  • HAHAHA ROFL OWNED

  • you should see the adverts they have in UK, there's one with a little girl that they show being depulverised from lying against a tree with her wrists all shattered, and various limbs sticking in the wrong direction, and then they show her hit at a lower speed...

and they've got ones for drink driving, drink stupidness, etc. we're getting used to shock tactics now

  • can you post a link?

  • Try googling for "Think Road Safety"

  • stupid man thats a one way street and you need to look one way not at that car

  • Today I noticed a woman looking the other way on a one way street. I think its just a thing everyone gets use to by checking both ways. I notice myself doing it sometimes too

  • no this guy he only look at the car that went by thats his fault

  • It's a good idea to do so, there are drivers who drive the wrong way on one-way roads.

  • if he was going 20km/h faster instead, the dude would have still been in the pizza shop.

  • hahaha true =)

  • this is the smartest thing I have heard all day. props

  • you shouldnt have started wlaking when you looked thats why he died he needs to look longer not walking then looking

  • I don't why people are bitching about how some things in these ads may be or are inaccurate.

The point is, that if you take the simple precautions these ads want you to take, you can lower your chances of a fatal accident. I don't see what the big deal is. Speeding is speeding, DUI is DUI, and distracted driving is, guess what, distracted driving. They all kill, but they can all be prevented, as well. That's the point of these ads. To try and prevent these fuckups before they happen.

  • An intelligent comment? In MY YouTube? :-)

  • I think the slight problem with all of these ads is that the person at sixty has ALWAYS FUCKING STARTED BREAKING IN TIME TO STOP. The person going at seventy ALWAYS STARTS BREAKING MUCH, MUCH LATER.

These ads, as brutal and effective as they are, are all bullshit.

  • Are you seriously this stupid, or is this a clever troll? I can't tell.

Anyway, encase you are stupid, let me explain. A car traveling at 70kmph breaks later than a car travelling at 60kmph because the car IS MOVING FASTER AND GETS CLOSER TO THE PEDESTRIAN QUICKER, giving the driver LESS TIME TO REACT. (Look, I can do caps too.)

  • That would be a valid arguement if the driver going at sixty hadn't stopped moving before the pedestrian stepped out. Long story short, the car travelling at sixty would still hit the pedestrian in this circumstance.

  • Look, if you will, at these "Creeping" ads they've been playing lately. Specifically, the one that shows the two cars stopping at the intersection, with the "Creeper" plowing straight into the pedestrian. The driver there didn't actually start breaking until a few feet before the camera. If they had been at the speed limit, they, once again, would have hit the passenger doing the same thing.

AND LOOK I CAN BE A FUCKING COCKSTAIN ABOUT HOW SOMEONE EXAGGERATES THINGS TOO.

  • what if the driver wasn't paying attention and looked up at the road the last minute?

  • What if, and, get this, you did that at sixty.

    Same result.

  • This man speaks the truth.

Seems the desire to brainwash the public to support a zero-tolerance (revenue raiser) speed enforcement campaign has replaced science and reason at the TAC (and pretty much all other Australian agencies)

If you are really that concerned with safety over there, you just need to reduce all your limits to 30k - simple as that. Then you'll always be able to stop in time and never hit people.

  • why are parents not educating their children on looking in both directions before crossing a road? is there a new abortion scheme going on that I am unaware of?

  • The fault here is with the moron crossing the road when he should have waited for a bigger opening. This is just darwin's theory at work weeding out the morons that don't deserve to live.

  • No kidding, anyone can see that.

The point the video is making, is "shit happens". You can't control the pedestrian walking out on the road, but you CAN control the outcome.

That's why speeding is so risky. When the cops show up they will ask, "How fast were you going?". Despite the fact that it was the pedestrians fault, you could still be facing jailtime.

  • What if the person travelling at 60km/h was more concerned about his spedometer rather than what was on the road ahead? Same outcome. I'd rather share the road with someone who is travelling 20km/h OVER the speed limit and watching the road, rather than someone driving under the speed limit with their eyes glued to the speedo.

  • In Sweden the speed limit is 30Kph within city limits. Since September 15 the speedlimits has changed nationwide so now we also have 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110 and 120Kph outside city limits.

  • You do mean miles per hour, right? Because people here whine because our school zones are 40kph.

  • Kph.

Or in miles, 20Mph within city limits.

  • Really makes you think..

  • I remember at our high school, we were shown a tape of all of the TAC adverts in a row. After that, I was shaken for the rest of the day!

  • Same...I actually had to leave after the fourth, I was in tears by the time I was out of the room. Then I found it hard to sleep for at least a month because they'd play through my mind, even the ones I didn't watch because it would trigger my memory...

  • 30 min or less or free

  • this ad is so stupid! no1 that street wouldn't be a 70kph street, and to the point wtf has the car goto with it LOOK before you cross! you can blame a speeding driver all you like from your wheelchair

  • Tried reading the rest of the comments here? The ad is not meant to make you out to be a criminal. It's to make you realise that things can happen that you have no control over and you should be in a better control of your vehicle. Lower speed helps with that.

  • ye ye, thats 1 factor. what about the rest: reaction time, tyres, skill, brake quality, road surface, etc etc. why Don't the ads says. ooh buy $300 tyres and you will stop faster and therefore can go 10km over the limit?

  • Because advertising focuses on simple issues to get a message across. Those other things are documented elsewhere and wouldn't be appropriate to talk about in a 30 or 60 second advertisement.

  • mafiouso: The street obviously isn't a 70kph street. All build up areas in Australia are 50kph or slower. The car was speeding which is why it nearly killed the guy when it hit him.

  • yep thats just great, now there is no need to look before crossing anymore and then blame someone in a speeding car for getting hit.

  • The point I've been trying to make is that EVERYONE has a responsibility to be courtious to each other. Don't speed in a built-up area, don't walk out without looking. If the driver was going slower, and the guy stepped out, there was a chance of stopping or a reduction of injury. This "passing the buck" to make someone else take the blame or to be responsible for things is a sad thing about our culture in this world. Everyone has to blame somebody else instead of chipping in to help.

  • that's right man, but your have to be a F-kn idiot if your speeding on a street like that that has people everywhere, but still its no right to place blame for a irresponsible pedestrian. Its like a cross walk. YES you suppose to stop for a pedestrian but if you get hit place all the blame you want to the driver but now you're the cripple.

  • the 50 limts wernt in place when this ad was out i don't think.

  • so u an speeder?

  • wtf

  • Stupid pedestrians. Use the crossing.

  • What does he say at the end...a severe what?

  • "Nothing worse than a severe fright"

  • Oh ok thanks =]

  • Bahaha, I remember this one, I watched them film it back in the day.

  • Woah really? Any more information you can give us? Whereabouts was it filmed, etc? Bear in mind I'm in the UK so I have no idea about the location other than "Victoria" :)

  • Somers Parade in Altona.

Theres another one with a girl on a bike that was filmed in Blyth street, Altona.
