u shouldn't keep ur xbox verically. it holds back the cooling system.and ur cdtray's mechanic parts will stop working so i advice you to keep all ur xboxes horizontally.

to get the internal memory off of the broken one do the towel trick on it then transfer the memory of the internal memory to your hard drive then put the hard drive back in the good 360

You know that RROD should be lights number 1, 3 and 4, not 2, 3 and 4. You have it vertical, so it seems like a RROD but it´s not, probably you have the plug not properly connected.

just look on the back at the power ratings sticker(next to where you plug in the power brick)if it says 12.1 amps its a jasper.if its a jasper and doesnt have a 150w power brick don't worry some come with older power bricks.or you could tell it is if you goto memory(if its a jasper it should have an internal memory chip) either 256mb or 512mb.....only jasper has internal memory

@iiH8raciistFUX- how could you know the failure rate even before its release? according to real statistics, the latest as of oct 2009, jasper has a failure rate of less than 1%, and most cases are repairable. i just forgot what company did the stats, its like an insurance thing, i kid you not. will post once i remember.

1. Avoid putting on carpet
2. Do not spill stuff on it as it can seep into the xbox
3. Try not to put alot of heat on it (Area with no ventaltion and do not put it vertical as is the bottom fan will not get to ventialate and overheat.)
Jaspers have the lowest failure rate & lowest power consumption compared to the original Xenon & Zephyrs which had a massive 175w power consumption the Jasper a tiny 100w which means the Jasper is far cooler too as both the GPU & CPU are running the same processing width of 65nm, this has not been present since the Xenon which ran 90nm on both, the best motherboards were Xenon for PAL users & Zephyrs for HD, Jasper is the best however as it strains the CPU a lot less & has been revised 5 times!

elites do get rrod,they are the same as an arcade or pro,just a 120gb hard drive and the system is black thats the only diff...vertical is bad because it vestricts airflow,on the side it is standing on that would be the right,and horizontal is supposed to be better cause it gets more airflow
Baught an xbox in 06' and died in 09' also alot of people I knew got the RROD too who had their xbox replaced...................I just baught an xbox 360 again because I really really REALLY! like its games. I lived with my uncle for a while (who has a PS3) and I found the games to be cool but once you beat them you probably never want to look at them. I beat MGS4 once and after that it collected dust, ive never seen my uncle play the game eaither.

i did a experiment with a jasper xbox. i run it for 20 mins without the fans on or shroud. and guess what. nothing not one problem, it did not over heat, no red rings. just goes to show jaspers run much cooler .

fake!!! he just unplugged the electricity wire a little beet for it can have electricity and turn on once its turn on it will have the 3 red rings of death and when you push the electricity wire to normal than it has no more red ring of death

aww you threw it out? rrod is mad easy and cheap to fix. i would have taken her off yo hands. haha the fans sounds like a jet plane. should have bought a ps3 instead of another xbox, thats what i would have done yo.haha i didnt even know the xbox had so many different motherboards till now.

actually it is,my bros 150w power brick plugs into it,and in case you were wondering 150w only works with jasper,if mine was not a jasper it wouldnt plug into it,and only jasper has internal memory,on the back of my console it says 12.1 amps,so yeah its jasper(just cause it came with a 175w psu doesnt mean its not jasper,after all some falcons came with the 203w psu instead of the 175w one. yeah its going to be better,its going to have the GPU and CPU combined into a 45nanometer chip,and will likely come out at the same time as project natal,and it might all be combined into a new 360 SKU

well jasper,has internal flash memory,and 65 nanometer GPU and 65 nanometer CPU...falcon 65nm CPU and 90nm gpu,xenon has both 90nm cpu and gpu,falcon and xenon have no flash memory that you can use...jasper runs the coolest,consumes less power,and a lower chance of failure

With a supossedly 4% failure rate, there is still going to be a lot of people suffering RROD just like the 3% failure rate of the PS3 (we still hear about YLOD).

dude i have a ps3 works great,had it for a year now and it works great! but im an x-owner of a 360 and I say 360 is way more fun than ps3. you have no excuses i won the ps3 and still prefer a 360, better online more people better community no online problems, and everyone has a headset. and there is a rumer that psn will be charged next year I hope not but,360 more fun,sure ps3 is a better machine but 360 has better games and better online.

is it?1 light 3 lights or 4 lights???if its three,or four disconnect your audio/video cables,and power cord/brick,then reconnect them making sure they are all plugged in all the way,and how fast does the rrod come on,is it instantly or 5 seconds,if its instantly than its a power brick fault,replace it if necessary

@iiH8raciistFUX- how could you know the failure rate even before its release? according to real statistics, the latest as of oct 2009, jasper has a failure rate of less than 1%, and most cases are repairable. i just forgot what company did the stats, its like an insurance thing, i kid you not. will post once i remember.

@cocoadile Yes get jasper it is much better. Jaspers have a 16% failure rate.
1. Avoid putting on carpet
2. Do not spill stuff on it as it can seep into the xbox
3. Try not to put alot of heat on it (Area with no ventaltion and do not put it vertical as is the bottom fan will not get to ventialate and overheat.)

Jaspers have the lowest failure rate & lowest power consumption compared to the original Xenon & Zephyrs which had a massive 175w power consumption the Jasper a tiny 100w which means the Jasper is far cooler too as both the GPU & CPU are running the same processing width of 65nm, this has not been present since the Xenon which ran 90nm on both, the best motherboards were Xenon for PAL users & Zephyrs for HD, Jasper is the best however as it strains the CPU a lot less & has been revised 5 times!

elites do get rrod,they are the same as an arcade or pro,just a 120gb hard drive and the system is black thats the only diff...vertical is bad because it vestricts airflow,on the side it is standing on that would be the right,and horizontal is supposed to be better cause it gets more airflow

Baught an xbox in 06' and died in 09' also alot of people I knew got the RROD too who had their xbox replaced...................I just baught an xbox 360 again because I really really REALLY! like its games. I lived with my uncle for a while (who has a PS3) and I found the games to be cool but once you beat them you probably never want to look at them. I beat MGS4 once and after that it collected dust, ive never seen my uncle play the game eaither.

that sucks,R.I.P 360,i got my first 360 on christmas of 06,died in aug of 08now im on my second,with jasper chipset,and i have to say it beats everything that my old 360 was,it terms of quietness,bootup speed,disk reading,operating temperature,and how fast it reads disks also,all is better on this one,and theres no freezes at all yet,first 360 froze alot,and the bootup on my old one was rather laggy took atleast 30 secs to bootup and would sat microsoft,this one about 7 secs,no micro logo

you can as well show not real RROD. cause if you don't plug the power cable the whole way in you'll get the RROD. and you get it straight after you press the power button. normal RROD's are flashin like 5 seconds after pressing the button, but the fake ones are showing strait after pressing the power button. BUT...i herar the cooling system so i know that you are not showing us the fake one =D
