Banjul airport is a joke the security infrastructure is on a critical level at this airport and being in that sort of field of work knowing what i know staff need to be sacked something is wrong when a Indian man can walk onto a full B767.300 with a good litre bag full of some sort of oil without been stopped it's a joke and to think everyones bags get scanned before leaving the airport something is sadly wrong, im about to send a email to Thomas Cook CEO to see what he says about the matter.

@FlyingTreg Yes i was well aware that most African airports may of had some problems with security...but i thought with The Gambia's security would of been a little better that other African airports i read about since they have lots of holiday makers there...even the check in desk were not bothered about passports, and packing your bags yourself...and they work for Thomas Cook..i feel its my duty to inform T.C. about my worries since i the correct level qualifications in this security field.

I was told that the long runway is a designated emergency landing place for the space shuttle.

It was but not anymore. There is still a special apron called NASA apron but this is used to store some old aircraft (wrecks). The runway is in such a bad condition that the Space Shuttle will break in 1000 pieces when landing over there :-)

Yundum Airport !! I've been there.. kinda little a bit to western standart, but very nice and clean Airport.

It ony has one runnway you may wonder.. I duno why, but its typical to most african airports.
