Activision did great with the first Call of Duty. Blizzard did fantastic with the first StarCraft. INTERPLAY did a splendid job with the very first Fallout. Without the first stepping stone, the achievements in games today wouldn't even enjoy such glory.

Beth ruined what Fallout is now, but putting their name on the good ol Fallouts, that's going over the board right there. Obsidian better squeeze their shitty engine for what's it worth.
@Chopp3dOuT fans of the old fallouts (like myself) agree that 1 and 2 had more immersion and true rpg elements than 3, imo 3 is still a good game, and has plenty of cool moments, but story wise, its very shallow and uninteresting compared to the originals. fallout 3 is a great sandbox game set in the wasteland, and can be very enjoyable, but it lacks some of the character and overall class from the first 2 games. has nothing to do with graphics tho
I get that, but I still dont understand how someone could get that much enjoyment out of a 2D game. I think Im just going to have to check it out for myself.

I was talking to my friend about fallout 3 and I asked if he'd ever played the previous 2, he said: "it looks crap, 2d graphics and turn based combat. What a waste of time." I bought fo1, fo2 and fot and got hooked. For their time they knew exactly what they were doing. If the level of effort and cleverness put into the old games were put into fo3 then it would fantastic! Note:(i love fo3 so don't accuse me of a retro fanboy. I just feel fo3 didn't have any of that charm that the old ones did).
i love this game. got a free version of it on Gametap, but they made it cost money, and i couldn't play on my new computer. THIS version works 32 bit and 64bit. THANK YOU GOG

I don't see why... at least they are doing something with the franchise. On top of that they are actually bringing in people who previous to Fallout 3's release would have previously never even known about &/or considered playing the first 2 games. They have done much less harm than good.

Usually its the old games that are better than the new, take half life 1 for example.
