FYI, there is still the shit going on in india, if your willing to fight the same fire with fire, the MAD mutual assured destruction will have its place. Submission is submission. I will die free, truth is only what you understand.
This is the best movie you have made. I am so proud of you. Your starting to really get your message of peace out. Keep up the good work for you and your son.
It's not about laying down to die. If you assume we can win any type of battle by making war against those with power, you are sorely mistaken. I know very well what they are capable of, if we fight like that, we will loose.
You say it never worked...
What about the civil rights movement. That could have turned out way different. The reason they had as many supporters as they did was because of the method, not just the message. India became a sovereign nation because of the same method.
The quote was meant to effectively outline how similar law prevents people from having valid marriage, the law being put in place to impose a moral standard based on someone else's beliefs. This is a form of bigotry, regardless of where it comes from, I believe marriage is a human right. Either way, nobody is above anyone's right to pursue happiness. Gay people getting married doesn't hurt anyone, except a certain few's pride.
I can agree that it doesn't hurt anyone, but I can't agree that it's a "human right". Marriage by definition has always been between a man and a woman, and I don't believe in catering to someone's needs simply because they choose to lead a different lifestyle and demand that literal definitions of words be changed to fit their chosen ways.
Regardless, this issue is yet another illustration of how to successfully promote division in a situation where unity for freedom is needed. Yay.
I can see how the word marriage may offend some if it's used by same sex couples. Ask yourself a question, please. Does it devalue or desecrate the marriage that heterosexual people enjoy? I don't mind if one would call it a civil union, but we all deserve equal rights. Regardless of what one would call it, gay people don't deserve to be treated differently by the law, unless homosexuality illegal. Then we shouldn't discriminate and make all sin illegal.
It isn't offensive, it's retarded to cater to a minority at the expense and unwant of a majority. Give them equal LEGAL rights (civil union) instead of attempting to change historical and legal definitions to fit their own desire to match their chosen lifestyle. This argument is completely silly. There are some SANE homo's out there who agree. This continued debate however, is solidifying my comment earlier about division.
We may be divided on opinion, but I would hope that we be united in purpose. Unity does not mean that we should agree on everything, that's the wrong kind of unity. Also one I choose not to be a part of, my church advocates the same unity. I prefer to think for myself, I can see you do the same. Let's not change that and continue to discuss things like this. This is nourishment for one's soul, discussing important issues that effect those around us, this is why I love my country.
The problem is most people tend to get emotional about issues like this and usually part ways when it's all said in done because it's not something either side agrees to budge on. I'm not sure what kind of unity you are saying your church advocates.
Discussions like this would be shunned in my church, the same unity you were talking about I assume. People should disagree and discuss it, that's how problems get solved. It's the beauty of free agency that we all have, our civil rights are a design of this free agency. We should be united in heart naturally, but united in mind through open debate. If they can not agree, then they should look where they have commonality and agree by it's principles.
Our ignorant fellow citizens are too consumed with their own self absorption to stand against our satanic, psycho, fascist, govt. This current crop of people are the reembodyment of the spine less Good German citizens of the 1930s and 1940s. Clint Hershey
@Clint076: My sentiments exactly. Unfortunately, we're definitely not alone; many Russians, Israelis, Saudis, etc. also have that exact same problem.........
