what an anthem! so uplifing and beautiful. now i love being a U S citizen and i love our anthem, but in my opinion australias anthem is a bit better than our especially when Julie Anthony is singing it.

@elshazalie That's not correct. Australian troops were in Iraq at the beginning of the Iraq War and Australia also sent an aircraft carrier. No Canadians troops were in Iraq at the outset of the war. I'm not sure if any have ever been sent to Iraq from Canada. I know Australia sent soldiers to Vietnam. Canada didn't send any.

@chippewaman1975 Australian Aircraft carrier in Iraq? Australian hasn't had an Aircraft Carrier since 1980 when we sold our last one to China to scrap (who then used that chance to study how to make their own).

You must be thinking of either the HMAS Darwin (Adelaide class guided-missile frigate), HMAS Anzac (Anzac class frigate) or the HMAS Kanimbla (Kanimbla class Landing Platform Amphibious craft, formerly USS Saginaw) which are the Royal Australian Navy ships deployed to Iraq in 2003.
