There is a canal near my house and when it dries out you can just flip over rocks and find one or two under each rock. Then we pick a few up and put them into a container with some water and cook 'em and.. Yuh guessed it EAT them
I catch em with a fishing pole. I put a worm on a small hook jig it near spaces between rocks. When one comes out I wait until it starts eating the worm then I quickly yank it out of the water. It works good.
you can find these thingies (us Californians call em crawdads too) in any stream around the world. if the world ends i know where my protein is coming from :)
@tnakai1971jp yeah its really fun! i'm from Illinois, and i remember going under this old stone bridge and catching crawdads when i was a kid. the local baitshop would give me a piece of candy for every one of them that i found. good times :-)
@diabloxscorchox oh we use them for bait to catch largemouth bass. we don't really fish for carp too much over here. carp get really big, but people say they aren't very good to eat because they're bottom feeders. lol, id eat them though.
guys come on use nets i will teach u wut to do find a cray in the water, put yur net behind it, lure it into the net ith yur hand, lift net, put in bucket
get a $7 minnow trap from walmart, but the wholes wider and cut up some shad, bluegil, carp, or any raw fish really and set it out in the evening before the sun starts to go down and go back for it in the morning. i use 4 traps and catch upwards of 100 a night, one night i pulled 209 in on a 13 hour soak
I live an fish on the Gulf coast an we folks down home here call 'em CRAWDADS! You a Yankee cuz you call 'em 'crawfish' an you live NORTH of me. That makes you a yankee, son. Don'cha forget it now.
I live in south south louisiana... and we call em crawfish... now, it's been the main income for alot of families and they've been doing it all their lives... I actually hate it when people call them mudbugs or crayfish... but ur safe with crawdad...
Best combo is get a opora house trap, or the other box shaped one, Get Some liver, brains, heart put it in a blender blend it up and tip a little bit on the edge, they get a scent then throw ya traps in with some brains or liver or whatever you want, and boom.
lol i dotn need a fucking pole to catch a crayfish =/ i use me hands you can catch the biggest crayfish ever with your hands and not a crappy pole >=/ lol try bowfishing for crayfish its fun and try spear fishing for them too lol
be careful...that is how mexicans are accidentally caught...just like dolphin safe tuna...we should have mexican safe netting practices in the rio grande

if u catch a good sized one and u break off the tail and claws then u can boil and eat them and they taste just like lobster because crayfish and crawdads are actually small freshwater lobsters, so if u catch about 10 or so good sized crayfish then thats the equavelant of a middle priced lobster dinner :P as for water, if u catch them and boil them in tap water or bottled water then u should be fine but if ur boiling them in the river water then thats not too good unless its ULTRA clean
I like to find them in Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennslvania (it used to be a river). I flip over rocks and catch them with a net. After I catch a bunch I let them all go where I found em.
I had a friend who would catch crawdads by using a rake. He would rake in some algae from a lake to the shore, and there would be about 20 crawdads stuck in the algae.
I've gone fishing and crawdadin' on the Rio Grand; also called the Rio Grande, which means the great or grand river, and in Mexico, the same river is called the Rio Bravo, which means tough or aggressive river.

DRAPPLEJUICE, you're beautiful to say you're sorry.
