  • try drawing arcs from it

  • how can this be put to daily usage>

  • make a light rig with this while holding the battery backup and walk around your neighborhood at midnight. (a mirror tied to the back would help as well to direct the light to the windows and away from your face)

  • i thaught that MOTs put out direct current?

  • no, they're just a simple step-up transformer. It's AC. All they do is increase the voltage. Microwave ovens do use a rectifier and capacitor to convert it to DC and double the voltage for the magnetron, but the transformer itself is just high voltage AC.

  • oh, i didnt know that.lol

  • That's a beastly machine. I have a 6.5 Kv transformer that is the size of a small tissue box

  • nice sun in a tube

  • cool how did you make that 2000 volts machine

  • Two microwave transformers in series. *points to video description* :P

  • good work, its cool. excelente trabajo està chevre...

  • lol nice! i have a battery backup on my desktop lol beeps everytime i do something my logs everything that happens its funny after i run something like this and go to the log in the computer it says stuff about the voltage drop's and how much it dropet and stuff pritty cool.

  • and also ghease your computer beepted must be a lot of power

  • Oh it's cool

  • is the louad noise a coling fan or smothing

  • Yeah, that's a fan I have to keep the light bulb cool. (I use the light bulb to limit current and prevent overloading the transformers.)

  • You could use an inductivity instead of lightbulbs.

Like the ones for fluorescent tubes. For more current you can simply put serveral in parallel. I used that before to current limit a microwave transformer and it worked fine.

  • interesting !
