  • Yeah, one of Joey's friends admitted online writing about six one-star reviews of Matovina's book and Amazon took them all down and eventually banned him. He actually relished in this act. Shame how Matovina has been gone after by the Mollands. They said they never read his book and never will. Boy, that bodes well for having a credible argument!

  • Okay, first, all you need to do is go to the index in page 442 with headers such as "arguments/conflicts with (8 different references), "on her control over Joey (184, 212, 213)," on phone argument between Joey and Tom (388)," resentment by Natural Gas members against (310)," "Without You" credits claim by (406, 407). They may not have been DIRECT hits, but it's obvious he didn't care for her.

  • @Multi80schick All of the references are quotes from others well-involved. The book lets all the major players tell the story. Including Kathie and Joey. Pete Ham quit the band because of her at one point. That's HUGE in their history. I'd recommend anyone to read the book and decide for themselves. A superb classic book about a great band! And Matovina's a big proponent of Joey's music, too! He got me to take a second look at Joey's tunes!!

  • @powerpopsmith He seemed like he didn't care for Kathie much, but he didn't say anything bad about Joey. I don't know either of them personally, so I'm not going to worry about what others say about her here. Hard feelings going on, but you can blame that on bad management, which would tear anyone apart. Did you see one of the reviews of the book at Amazon where other reviewers are accusing one of the others of being Joey? I laughed, because anyone could have written it that's taking sides.

  • What a song. Why isn't this on the radio instead of the pure shitgunk we have to hear?

  • I read Paul Matovina's book, a he totally trashed Kathie throughout, but other people he interviewed did as well, including Tom, Mike and certain members of Natural Gas. All I can say is, we didn't personally know her, so we can't really judge. It's one of those had-to-be-there things. Take it as you want, but the woman died with warts like anyone else. Whatever kind of person she actually was, it's still a sad thing for Joey, and he seems like a decent guy.

  • @Multi80schick Hey, I read the book, too. In fact, I went through it again and there's not one instance of Matovina "trashing" Kathie Molland. Maybe I missed something... can you point out out even one instance? I'll be waiting. Page number, too, please... Again - where Matovina actually personally trashed Kathie Molland?

  • I d like to know the name of this music . Its so beautiful and sad !

  • I don't think there is a longer version ronfowlermusic because I messaged the director when he had a website years ago. He just added material at the end to all the versions. The VH1 Behind The Music was ten times better in telling the basic storyline. Not that it was perfect either. The Molland approved documentary ; Kathie bragged to be the definitive story. Not even close. Very amatuerish like their rushed BASIL project. That was a clear copycat move to Ham's 7 Park Avenue demos coming out.

  • It's sad that even after her passing, certain parties persist in the character assassinations. Beautiful song, RIP Kathie.

  • @ronfowlermusic I thought that Kathie Molland character-assassinated Tom Evans after he was dead in the Mollands approved documentary. But I agree that this is not the ideal place to cast aspersions - whatever one's opinion.

  • @GraceBarrett I don't remember anything disrespectful of Tommy in the documentary. There were differences of opinion, of course, but none of that takes away from the music.

  • @ronfowlermusic It was more in the interviews sold, sorry. They left the background on Tommy's death out of the doc. It was a very shallow doc... that's my opinion. Also Kathie did say something about "our" check. That really struck me with what Pete did in quitting the band over Kathie getting involved in their business. Joey even said that many times!

  • @GraceBarrett I did think it was strange that they ended the documentary with Pete's death. Should've included the reformed Badfinger with Tom and Joey, and then Tommy's death. I can't blame that on the Molland's, though, may have been the director's decision. There is a longer version out there, but I haven't seen it. May buy it someday if the price comes down.

  • So, two dumbasses kill themselves because they didn't understand the contract they signed? What fucking tards.

  • @castletriglav hey REETARD... yeah YOU....nice channel ya got. Really done up brilliant! Judging by the highly sophisticated and artistic nature of your channel ... I say ya shouldve killed yourself many many years ago.

  • Kathie was so cool to all of Badfinger or Joey's fans. They ALL made mistakes in their youth. She was as proud of Badfinger as all the members were. Joey is the last member of the original Badfinger left and is an awesome musician. Got it, DM (aka "Damned Meddler")?

  • In a place and time when good music is appreciated, this would be a number one song for many many weeks.....thank you for posting.

    Ram on,

    Joe

  • Kathie was a great lady, smart, funny, no bullshit in her whatsoever. Whoever says otherwise didn't understand her. She called BS whenever she sas it, and I suppose that could have made her unpopular with some folks, but all that matters is that she was Joe Molland's rock, mom to their 2 boys, kind and gracious to friends. In my brief experience in knowing her, she never had a bad word to say about any of the guys in Badfinger, or the band's devoted fans.

  • @popomatic1970 Well, you had a good personal experience with her, but to say she never had a bad word to say about the others, I guess you never saw her interview on the DVD trashing Tom Evans or have you read her bile on the internet, much of which still is on it. What a nasty foul-mouthed woman. Have you heard Mike Gibbins call her the "anti-christ" in an interview on the web! He was around for it all. And Tom Evans on a phone call said she "killed" Pete Ham. God knows what went down...

  • I'm not familiar at all with Joey's solo work but I do like this song. Thanks for sharing.

  • I just found out Kathie had left the planet a while back and I was sorry to hear it, my condolences to Joey. I always found her comments to be realistic re: Badfinger's blind side. Being an American she had that extra awareness of the potential rip-off style of US dog eat dog politics and business practices, that all or nothing pursuit of the so-called "American Dream". Badfinger being from England and a more socially empathic society, was there for the 'dining' once they met Polley. RIP Kathie.

  • Remembering Kathie on what would have been her birthday today. She is dearly missed!

  • Beautiful Beautiful song.

  • Thanks for sharing...

  • Dan Matovina is just a egotistical fool who pretends to be bill Madford. He is the one who has caused all of the trouble and the divide between badfinger family, friends and fans. He is a Dangerous individual and spreads lies about people. Who the hell is he anyway, just a one hit wonder who released a book about the group. The sooner this joke of an author is exterminated from this earth the better.

  • @masterofpuppets1967 maddan's track record: 1 book full of lies, sends joey a drawing of himself with a rose, steals items from kathie, gives away home vid's of pete left and right and does not copyright it like the ham estate requested, hides behind a multitude of false id's on youtube and elsewhere, tries to influence apple records to do remasters his way and get's ignored, threatens other authors of badfinger books with lawsuits, threatens jose nueves because he got the grammys for the boys.

  • @nymcelligot Maddan even accused a man of breaking into his California apartment who was dying of cancer. I wonder if any of Kathie's stolen property was allegedly taken from his collection of Magazines and cut outs that he drools over. The only reason brokeback dan hated Kathie was because she had the man he wanted, after being rejected he has now holds Joey responsible for being a survivor.

  • Thanks for proving my point. Now do everyone a favor and go seek some therapy.

  • @billbadford Billyboy, Billyboy, I see you're bored again with nothing useful to do as usual.

  • All of the posts from "nymcelligot" and "TheKeithjames" are from the same individual, Neil Fowkes. Apparently Matovina caught him bootlegging Badfinger material so the guy has been seeking revenge ever since. Don't waste your breath on the guy.

  • @billbadford Please Bill - or Dannyboy once again assuming someone else's identity? Were you feeling lonely on your fictionblog and all of a sudden arrived at YouTube? Dannyboy tried to seduce Joey who doesn't brokeback & refused CrazyMato. Dannyboy has dedicated himself to harassing Joey. Mato stole items from the Molland house. The bootleg items were Home videos the Ham's asked DannyMato to copyright and instead gave away to his friends. Neil continued Mato's giving away the vids to others.

  • @billbadford Oooh sorry i mean Dan Matovina. When was the last time that you saw your psychiatrist. Have you been wearing your mothers clothes again?

  • decent song....Kristen & yetty, I'm there with you...She was classless and Badfinger wouldve done better if they had Bob Jackson on keyboards from the beginning & Ham on guitar...Maybe things would've turned out differently...It's amazing...Bob Jackson gets so much (deserved) respect, thanks to the internet & the Matovina book.....A must read to get the 'true story' of Badfinger.

  • @pilot9781 she had more class that mato and all his cohorts combined! bob's conribution to badfinger was musical and did not help sort out their problems. things would have benn the same. the mato book is a joke full of lies and mis-information. the true story will come out next year in cimino's book badfinger & beyond - the interviews now that a way around the legal threats by crazymato have been overcome. maybe know we'll see how mato tried to brokeback with joey and joey's refusal.

  • Latest news: M. Cimino will finally publish his book Badfinger and Beyond - The Interviews. It seems the hold up all these years has been threats of lawsuits by You Know Who. Another lie shattered that no one else would put out a book because of shoddy prep work or Joey's supposed inability to tell his story. Also, there seems to be a faked photo of Macca's kitchen with a copy of CrazyMato's unauthorized book among others on a shelf. As if Macca would place it there. The walls are tumbling down!

  • Hey nymcelligot: I read the "interview" by Brennan. So let me get this straight - Dannyboy thinks he's better than the Head Engineer of Apple Records? No wonder no one at Apple wants anything to do with him. He's the modern day Stan Polley. Give me a break!

  • @TheKeithjames i got the remastered cds last week. no surprise - no mention anywhere of crazydanomato, no mention of bug music, no mention of the "heirs" -zilch!!!! joey however, is extensively interviewed and quoted throughout in the booklets. dannyboy just blowing smokescreens as usual. he's a nobody who wants to be a somebody. he thinks that by intimidating others he can control everything badfinger. you know why there arn't any other badfinger books? he's threaten them all with lawsuits!

  • also graciebaby, your credibility is shot when you say that dannybrokebackmatocrazy seems like a nice man, making it seem like you don't know him when you are part of his few followers and have know him for years. dannycrazy tried to brokeback with joey but joey doesn't go that way, stole items from the mollands house, is losing his grip on the ham estate and becoming less important in the badfinger world. his only claim to fame is meddling in on others like a kid that no one want to play with.

  • graciebaby, i see your comprehension level is low also. after reading tom's "interview" - it reads more like dannyboy's habit of writting everything himself and then making it look like others are interplaying with him. dannyboy himself admits he made some suggestions in 2008, that he was not part of the team and that as the "rep" of the hams he gave them some material. in general you can see he was more of a bother as most of his suggestions were not carried out. dannymatocrazy is not nice.

  • Mr. nymcelligotti, I hadn't seen anything where Mike Gibbins "made up" with Joey Molland. I don't know what that would mean anyway. Mike said what he said. It happened. And Tom said what he said. You can HEAR them say it. People can make whatever personal judgments they want. Were you in rooms to know their personal conversations? At the end, it is all a tragedy.

  • @Kristenbillick listen kristydannyboy, one person making statements that were later recanted and another under the influence hardly makes for evidence of what you claim. the facts are, dannyboy matocrazy made brokeback overtures to joey that were refused and stoled items from the mollands, pete got his best friend's wife pregnant after another drunken episode, tom was bipolar and depressive who kept making the same mistakes that lead to a $5million suit when he was warned not to sign.

  • @nymcelligot kristydannyboy, goes to show there is alot you don't know about and never will. btw, gaynor gibbins and joey got together recently and had a great time. and, the remastered badfinger apple records catalog that will launch next month had nothing to do with danny matocrazy.

  • @nymcelligot You are a sick puppy. So now you change "made up" to "recanted". Can't keep your stories straight, huh? Where does it show Mike Gibbins recanted what he said? That would mean he admitted he LIED about all the things we HEAR him say. Pathetic, pathetic, PATHETIC argument.

  • @Kristenbillick kristydannymatocrazy, i see your comprehension level is low. dannymatocrazy is losing his battle to hold on to the estates, he tried brokebacking with joey but he doesn't go that way, pete knocked up his friend's wife, tom was bipolar/depressive, they both left behind saddened families, the remastered badfinger cds coming out had nothing to do with matodanny, gaynor gibbins as well as others are making up with joey and you can't accept being left out. danny's out in the cold.

  • @nymcelligot You lied to us - you said "the remastered badfinger cds coming out had nothing to do with matodanny" ... Well... go to badfingerlibrary dot co m . It seems Dan Matovina was well involved and seems like a nice man who is very helpful to Badfinger.... And realize the credibility of all your attacks are shot down now...

  • Nice song by Joey - a fine songwriter - but Bottomline on Kathie Molland - Mike Gibbins (who was there and saw it all) called her the "anti-christ" - SEARCH Gibbins Interview & Sean together. Also, Tommy Evans stated on tape that Kathie "killed" Pete Ham ( I'm sure it is figurative, meaning his "heart and soul.") And Kathie had a huge foul mouth on the internet and would to threaten to "hurt" people.

  • @Kristenbillick kristydannyboyzarkonetal, mike gibbins and joey made up just before he died. all the hate you mention was fed by dannymatocrazy because joey wouldn't brokeback with him. pete and tom took their lives and left everyone behind hurting for it. pete got his best friend's wife pregnant and tom kept making the same bad decisions that lead to his being sued for $5million. that's why they killed themselves instead of persevering like mike and joey. stop being an a** looking like a fool.

  • @Kristenbillick still playing that worned out anti-joey diatribe huh? you're getting to be very boring.

  • The music industry and music fans (especially in the USA) have such bad taste in general.....this song should have been a hit!! Very frustrating that it not only wasn't a hit, it never got played in the USA.....but we certainly do love our Lady Ga Ga and Madonna over here...ridiculous. Joey is such an under-rated talent, and an extremely good person...had the chance to meet him in Boston this year.

    Thank you for posting....

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • Beautiful song, beautiful video. Having met Joey, I can tell you that he's a great, gregarious guy with lots of heart & personality. Joey was a huge part of Badfinger's sound. The sonic differences between Badfinger & The Iveys should be pretty obvious.Nobody in Badfinger was the "bad guy". Band dynamics, like family dynamics, are what they are, and are not easily understood by outsiders. The only real villian was Stan Polley. And by the way, sainthood for Pete Ham isn't such a bad idea :)

  • @brilliantcolors7 agreed....am still amazed by ' sweet tuesday morning' [ i bought the album in 1972]....someone at tombrennans BFpage was asking if she was ill etc. maybe JM could put a facebook page with info up.

would love to hear JM BF play in los angeles.

  • a beautifull song indeed R I P DEAR KATHIE PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU ALWAYS if you love badfinger dont fight here but remember them with love and love all their members as equals they all did it harder then we will ever know each individual suffered in his own little way give them peace and remember the beauty which was and still is them BADFINGER

  • Outstanding tribute, thank you. I had the honor of meeting Joey last week in the Boston area....he could not have been any nicer and genuine to both my wife and I.....he deserves the very best that life has to offer....I am so sorry about all of his heartache over the years...he is a good person. thank you again.

    Joe and Linda in NH.

  • I guess I hadn't realized Kathie Molland had passed away either. I also have NO ANTI-Joey M. sentiments. Badfinger was one of my fave groups growing up and it was a real kick to get to meet him briefly one time in Omaha,NE when he played there in the early to mid 90's. He was quite nice, autographed something for me, and I asked him about when the WB LP "Wish You Were Here' was gonna be on a domestic(U.S.)CD.....My best wishes to him....they went thru hell with that Stan Polley gangster.

  • Well said uglyyetty. The band was getting screwed and she knew it. Pete had waay to much faith in polley, cost him dearly in the end.Its not fair trying to make her into a Yoko, events proved her right in the end. So sad cause badfinger had so much left in them. They could have been touring still with the songs they had. They were still living in that crappy lil 7 park ave house w holes in there shoes when they should had a lot more. RIP Kathie, Joey M keep going!

  • @thekux JM keep touring and recording. i am putting a tribute song up at youtube sometime.

  • Read the book by Dan Matovina

This video is not as it seems. This female created a lot of hell for Badfinger.

and joey is nothing but anathema to the true Badfinger before Pete Ham and Tom Evans died.

  • @sunmarsjupiter Listensunmarsjupiter, runrunrunawaykristenbillickdannyboy or any of the other phoney names you use to cover yourself. You're a coward who has nothing better to do than spread false lies based on a book with a very clear objective of elevating Pete Ham to sainthood and blaming the mollands for everything. You're a sad excuse for a person who has done nothing but live off the memory of a wonderful band.

  • @sunmarsjupiter i see dannyrunrunrunawayboy stand behind you too. or maybe you're one of his false ids he likes to use here on youtube. anyway, it seems dannyboy is on this anti-joey campaign because he sent joey a letter with a self portrait and a rose. joey doesn't go that way so now he takes every opportunity to get back at him. the book is only his main weapon to attack joey. the fact is pete and tom killed themselves instead of sticking it out like mike and joey. they could have kept going

  • @sunmarsjupiter sadly pete and tom didnt ' die' THEY TOOK THEIR OWN LIVES.

  • i met joey in 2003 and we spoke about mike and i even gave him a demo by golders green " sille veb" which you can hear on youtube. he was very nice to give a photo and 2 autographs to me. i found out about kathie and it broke my heart to hear that, i want joey to know that we are all here for him....i want to dedicate "sille veb " to them!!

  • great tribute, great partnership, great song and whatever happened between them caused by greedy corporate pigs a f***ing great band!

  • Very sweet.

  • Remembering Kathie on her first year anniversary. RIP sweet Kathie.

  • One thing about Joey that seperates him from all other Badfinger members - he knew how to land a babe, and to write the most memorable of his songs about her. RIP Kathy oh beautiful and loveliest women of the times ...

  • Wow Just when I think they are gone here they come again

  • This is a very Nice tribute! I saw Badfinger in Harvard Square Boston back when "Ass" & Badfinger's 1st Warner Brothers LP were released at the same time! I'm guessing about 1974. I remember Joey being very funny on stage. I actually have a tape of it somebody gave me years after. I've never seen Joey perform since then. I've been perfroming myself every time he comes near Boston. I hope to see him some day. I'd make sure I take a night off for a change!

    God Bless You Joey!

    Ted

  • What a great song! I think Kathie has been given a bad rap over the years. As an educated U.S. girl from MN, she probably recognized how badly Badfinger was getting screwed before the boys did. She was very protective of Joey and a lot of men never seem to listen to what a woman is telling them, NO MATTER WHAT. In addition, a real fan wouldn't judge someone they've never met and make snide remarks in a public forum. Joey's made mistakes like anyone else and deserves your respect.

  • I can tell you this firsthand, as a friend of both Joe's and Kath's, God Bless Her. Kathie was to Joey what Linda was to Paul. They were extremely devoted to each other.

There's a lot of anti-Joey feeling out there. Don't get it, just plain hate maybe that he's the only Badfinger left. He tried to make Peter see how the bastard ripped them off. So he has to get the piss.

Ask Jerry Shirley, or anyone who really knows Joey like I do what a class act he is. And what a lady Kath was.RIP,Kath.

  • @uglyyetty couldnt have said it better myself. very unfair to make kathie a Yoko. They we still living in that crappy lil 7 park ave house w holes in their shoes when it should have been better after a bunch of hits. She knew they were getting screwed and the events that followed proved her right. To bad cause badfinger had so much left, they had so much great material they would have been able to tour for years. RIP Kathie, and I hope Joey still performs keeping badfinger alive.

  • @uglyyetty I do know this much ...... girlfriends should NEVER be involved with their partner's bands or any other kind of work unless they are a part of the band or a manager (real manager). She was being protective of Joey..yes I know...but fucked everyone else up in the process. She should have kept her nose out of things. And I know this because I know a person who hung around with all them during the crappy times.

  • and you're a piece of crap, pal.
