  • how do you play like that?!

  • Is the 9th inlay worn down, defective, or what? I'm trying to figure out if you bought it that way. BEAUTIFUL playing by the way. You have a good feel for blues. Great demo !!!

  • Great sweet sound!

  • nice guitar and playing... can you send me a backing track please????

  • @harisfender blue jeans blues zz top search :)

  • sick !!

  • @1y9b9b Ikr guyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful guitar and magical tone Greg..

  • I have that very Gibson. I bought it in 1966 new. Still is great.

  • a good blues sinfony.....beatiful lilloblues

  • @lillo13852 zz top blue jeans blues

  • For some reason i always thought the 345 was more like a smaller (body wise) version of the 335... it looks about the same size, is it?????

  • @khpierce8 you are thinking of the 349. 335, 345, 355 are all exactly the same body dimensions, with varying amounts of trim.

  • DE MARTY MC FLY GUITAR!

  • very nice tone and tune....sounds amazing

    I have a '59 345.

    Should make a video too.

  • I wish I could give up my "real" job and do what you do

  • Yess i Get it !!!! ZZ top

Very nice sound and feeling Greg

My turn to play that great blues

  • Hello I am a french jazz guitarist (woman)

    (myspace taloujazz)

sometimes I play BB King stuff

I would like this backtrack and the tab of your improvisation I can pay you by papal

    Thank you

  • i want to be the bear, desde argentina greg

  • I belive the backing track is a Ronnie Earl track called CHild Of A Survivor. Greg does it justice here. But ROnnie is a current blues favorite of mine. Love the sound of the Okko and Greg has played through it a variety of guitars. Greg, have you ab;d the Okko against the ZenDrive and if so, what made you go with the Okko?

  • @cm0220ster

It's ZZ Top, Blue Jean Blues.

  • At some points this backing track almost sounds like Since I've Been Loving You by Led Zeppelin

  • For once, I actually recognize the backing track (its from the song Blue Jean Blues by zz top).

I would go for guitars like this but the f holes causes me unnecessary grief.

  • WOW! I gotta get one on my 335 and a bigsby too!

  • Hehe. Blue Jean Blues.

  • great sound! well played! trying hard to become that good

  • Beautiful. There's something wrong with the HD video on this though, it's staggers back and forth like crazy and it's not my end. The audio is fine, thankfully :)

  • ZZ Top? Great sounding guitar. A 335 is on my list. :)

  • Damn....

  • please, what it that REVERB effect?:))..sorry for bad english:))..thanks:))

  • why does it kill the sound?

  • So sweet.

  • blue jeans blues :)

  • Really nice use of the VARI-TONE switch. I have an ES-137 with one, but haven't used. The amp I've been using didn't lend itself to using it, ( it didn't sound good) but I just got a Vibrolux Reverb (1973) and it sounds GREAT through it, I just have to learn to use it now.

  • Yeah Man =)

  • wow..so romantic song ...

  • This is beautifully done.

  • beautiful guitar. i played one of these at chicago music exchange, sounded amazing. when i noticed the pricetag said "ask for price" i knew it wasn't coming home with me.

  • @MrBingping Don't you hate that? Mind you, good playing can make just about any guitar sound nice-that's how I console myself anyway....

  • WOW thats beautiful man

  • what's a varitone?

  • what scale you are using??

sorry I'm junior on Blues field :)

  • Greg you rock man. We all here(RobotFollower Crew) are big fans. Your tone's always "no comment" which means that you put your soul into the tone man, and it sounds amazing! We thank you for the great reviews, no talking and blah blah blah. Your reviews are right into the point. You just play and show us how it sounds like, and it sounds fantastic. Keep up the great job man.

    -The RobotFollower Crew

  • this guy should do johnny b goode with this guitar

  • is the varitone the only real difference between this and the 335? or do they have different profiles aswell?

  • @teanio3 Just check my YouTube-Startpage - all infos about backing-tracks, recording-Setup, "do you own all these guitars"-questions, Strings, Picks, etc... are there

  • @GregsGuitars How much for this one, Gregor? If you still have it.

  • wish I had one just like that

  • Great Sounding Guitar! What is this chord progression?

  • you seem like quite a stevie fan ;)

  • The 345 is stereo, without a stereo 1/4 inch cable, both pickups will play if the 1/4 inch is not fully plugged in. With a true stereo cable, the 345 can be run through two amps at the same time.

  • Man without your vids I would have run out to a store and buy the first es-335 uninformed. Now I believe I should run to the first store and buy a 345. Sounds great. And thank you for all the time you put into making these vids. Very informative to compare differences between guitars.

  • Great Tone but I have never liked the Varitone 5 way switch (or whatever it is)

  • @GregsGuitars *shakes head* ahhhhh. makes sense.

I know you know this but you;re a great player, man. keep it up. I'd point you to the vids I have online but most of them really suck and are not indicative of the playing I'm capable of...

  • i want this gem!

  • Man, that tone is SWEET!!!!!!

  • Greogr, the opening lick is the one i would love you to tab and play on your next 20 licks cd

  • beautiful.... what is exactly a varitone circuit..???

  • Geez... That is great playing...

  • Without doubt Gregor gives us the best guitar vids on all of youtube... Danke!

  • In case anyone is curious, the song is "Blue Jean Blues" by ZZ Top

  • almost bought one back in the day, wish I would've now

  • I got a Gibson B.B. King Lucille but I got to get me a red one with a black pg. My favorite guitar color. How to you like that Bigsby on there?

  • tasteful man. tasteful.

  • where did you take the backingtrack? =) Wounderful tone anyway =)

  • Hey Greg, it would be cool if you could improvise some complicated slightly overdriven chord passages and demonstrate the varitone circuit on those passages.

It would be great to hear the bite of that guitar on punchy chords.

  • wow that guitar has such unreal tone

  • Hello Greg, Beautiful playing, can you tell me what kind of strings and what gauge they are on this gibson, Thank You Barry, also I would like to buy one like this but the price is probably out of my price range, is there maby something out there you could recomend that would come close with the tone and feel, maby a reissueThanks for your time Barry Dubin

  • That guitar sounds like sex. Im looking into getting an es 335 but most of the ones i've played sound kinda dead. I'm looking for a brighter sounding one like this one. Could you tell me the specs on this one like the model etc? thanks man

  • what specs? It is a vintage 65 ES-345....

  • @GregsGuitars specs as in pickups, neck size and what wood is the fretboard. Thanks

  • I don't know - guitar has been sold a long time ago

  • i love your song great player

what is your effect ? thank you very much

  • Delay is a Akai Headrush, Overdrive Okko Diablo

  • thanks what is chords ? thank ;)

  • that first run at 0:03 secs sent a shiver down me, just beautiful.

  • Ohhhh What a Beautiful sound!

  • lame question: whats the chicken head knob for?

  • it is the Varitone switch

  • which does....?

    ahahahha.

  • Luv that 'teddy bear' amp sound!

  • love your videos! Great gear man! Sounds sick! THANKS!

  • very good *****

i think it sounds very much like mark knopfler.

  • lovin that blues. i always liked the bigsby bridge

  • AWESOME sound !!

  • Great playing and tone!

I think this is my absolute dream guitar. Es-345 with Bigsby and Varitone!!....Ever since I watched Marty McFly in Back to the Future many years ago!!

  • The guitar is great, but the playing doesn't hurt either! I've got a 345 and find that a simple compressor (used more or less as a limiter) eliminates the wild volume swings with the Vari-tone, making it amazingly usable. I now love it.

Again, real nice playing. You get a great, soulful tone!

  • Great guitar, great sound and now I try with my Gibson Lucille ;-)

  • Whoaw ! Perfect sond ♪♫♪

  • this is chuck berry model!

  • Beauty!

  • Gosh this is beautiful... The playing & the guitar itself! The tone is just awesome! :)

Anyway... anyone notice the teddy bear in front of the amp? It's supporting the mic haha :P

  • royal feel--you have the Royal feel. beautiful feeling, these are not notes--these are feelings you're playing--incredible

  • NICE!! great demo,GREAT tone coming from guitar to amp.Tone Tone Tone and more QUALITY TONE.

  • amen, man those old worn out pickups sound good

  • original bigsby right

  • yes!

  • my aim is to own this and a 325 hah

  • ole, ole y ole !

    Sound and feeling

  • You got Great feeling and soul!

    KILLER TONE !

  • sounds like pink floyd wish you were here tone

  • even tho the song was recorded on an acoustic 12 string?

  • i was talking about the album dumbshit

  • wow... someone woke up on the wrong side of the tampon...

  • haha yeah

  • i thought it sounded like david gilmore too. if you don't watch the video but have just audio, some parts sure do sound like a strat. but i could be wrong...

  • yea ur right

  • obviously a lot of people are dumbshits and think im talking about the song cause they are poser wannabes that are into trends

  • Great playing! Is this still the OKKO diablo?

  • Hi ... can you demo the stereo feature of the 345 and what amp is best to bring out my 81 345.

    thanks

  • the stereo feature is bullsh.. each Pickup leads into a different amp. Any Fender amp is good! Vibrollux Reverb is great, Deluxe Reverb....

  • is it stressful tuning with the bigsby? i heard you had to tune it like 4 times cause if you tune a string it pulls the bigsby down loosening the strings.

  • yes, it is a little bit mor work, but no problem

  • thank you, I own an epiphone 56 les paul goldtop and I was thinking of putting a bigsby on it.

  • Is this song Tin Pan Alley from Stevie Ray Vaughan?

  • Blue Jeans Blues - Backing

    Check the ZZ-Top

  • Wow, beautiful playing. Favorited for inspirational purposes!

  • That really does sound beautiful.

  • der blue jean blues..sehr schön! billy gibbons hat ja ne tele dafür benutzt..

  • is the teddy bear the source of this godly tone?

  • yes, but please don't tell nobody else..

    :-)

  • Did billy Gibbons use one of these on the original track?

  • No, he was using a Strat

  • out of all the guitars you have looked at i think this suits your style of playing the most do you agree? the tone is beautiful!

  • Play Johnny Be Goode on that and i honestly would be ohh so ver grateful.

  • thats great playing and a brilliant sound, this kind of thing you could listen to for hours!

  • top notch sound man

  • Super!

  • good...

  • I love that bluesy tone, great !

  • Great tone! I could almost eat it.

Is that your own backing track?

  • Thanks! You will find the Backing Track on guitarbackingtracks Z Z Top Blue Jeans Blues
