  • Crown Broadcasting owned a cluster of stations in feeder markets that all came under different "jewels". KKIS AM/FM were under "Diamond Broadcasting". The stations went into receivership because of Crown's financial trouble.

  • Also, it's amazing that all they had to do was leave this station alone and it would continue to do great. There's only one "KISS-FM" and this one is it.

  • @RadioAirchecks well the KISS-FM brand started in LA to mean CHR. Then the Kiss-FM came to San Francisco at 98.1fm

  • Who were the owners of KKIS AM and FM in the early 1990's. The airchecks of the KKIS format resemble todays KKDV, KUIC and KKIQ But I noticed that KKIS became the DIablo Valley Translator of KSJO 92.3 in San Jose in the Mid to late 1990's and the Kiss Brand left Diablo Valley for 98.1 FM KISQ by Clear Channel then Chancellor in 1996. Its interesting that the Fomat returned to 92.1 in 2004-2005 as soon as 95.7 KKDV flipped from Classic Rock to Country.
