I was at a Keene city council meeting recently, when Everyone stood to pledge allegience, Sam sat there shaking his head. And then it occured to me what sam was about... You see he exercised his right without any problems not to stand and pledge, but that wasnt enough, it burned in his side that everyone else chose to do so. Sam, us in Keene know what kind of phony you are, hopefully you dont fool any youtubers with your crap.

those who arrested him had a different interpretation of the charges that were filed against him. in their eyes, he broke the law. this is why he was detained. in our eyes, he did nothing wrong at all. i hope his hearing will observe justice as these incredulous charges are removed from his record and as an example is set for the rest of state and federal government. oppression will be met with resistance. but hunger strikes i still don't understand.

Maybe think about Gandhi. He used hunger strikes to evict an empire. He was denied a speedy trial. He could theoretically have spent years in there on the technicality of refusing to give his name (a brilliant application / extension of the 5th amendment). By putting his life on the line he not only made the most unequivocal possible statement of intent, but he lit a burner on the process. Fearing media attention WHILE knowing they were in the wrong resulted in his release. I do understand it.

would someone please explain how starving yourself is supposed to strengthen your cause and weaken your opposition? if you die, it was YOUR CHOICE. not theirs. they offered food, but you refuse it. i can't see how this is effective. how does this make the Keene district courts look bad? seems foolish to me. help me understand.

i don't think they released him due to his health. if he was getting terminal, he would have been hospitalized after he was unable to make rational decisions anymore. i'm sure they released him because they didn't have sufficient ground to detain him any longer. besides, for a guy who's health that had been deteriorated, he sure looks pretty damn good to me. i don't believe his health had anything to do with his release.

I'm sure there are smart people working on this, but I'm very surprised the writ of habeus corpus hasn't produced a speedy trial! I don't know enough, but criminal charges and grand jury indictments are probably the next step.

Crazy stuff. Just shows how we need to take back control of the legal process, both in terms of knowledge of procedure and rights, as well as ensuring against abuse from officials.

I've been there, done that, time that is, in California. Thank God I live in Canada now. All Americans should be warned that there is no longer any freedom of speech in the USA. Criminal thugs have taken over America and they have no morals or integrity at all.

I remember seeing a video from Ridley a few weeks back about how when you use force to get a point across to government they just use more force in return so the only option is to be civil and use peaceful methods of protest.

Well let me know when you guys are ready to fight because this peace stuff is for suckers with big hearts. No one is going to slap chains on me so I dont show up to protest unless I am ready to fight. The answer to 1984 is 1776 people.

No matter how you stand up for your self the government is going to push back. Its when you draw a line in the sand and say "No More" that counts. All you need is 1/3rd of the population behind you and you will see mountains move. To keep this man in jail and no date set for a Judge to review his charges is a form of punishment and Unconstitutional. If I went to a protest and was willing to be locked up knowing no one would fight for my release then I would be a fool.
