@tankeriv Yes you can, in fact the yorkfield 45nm processors are either as fast or faster. If you're comparing it to a Q6600 or something, you should be talking about first gen Phenom processors, one of which I have and still does fairly ok today, or my friend with a Q6600 who still plays with me at only 2.3ghz.

This computer is totally obsolete. My eyes can process DirectX 999 in a 20480 x 10240 resolution at 1000 fps! The real helper is my heart,an Dual Core which is clocked at 5litres per minute,so anything that is rendered in real-time is a joke! I have a MASSIVE fan,pumps shitload of air in me which keeps me cool. Big honour to my Crossfire Kidneys! Todays tasks take too much RAM!!! I have a 100 TB Hard disk,but unfortunately,i have to dump useless shit to keep it in good shape! ;)

in term of perfomance 4890 is still better, in term of graphics well, 5770 have dx11, so in some game may look better, right now there are only few games that support dx11.

Shame you've turned off all teh motion blur as thats where crysis really shines. The singular object blurring looks fantastic aswell as everything else, one of the best features of using DX10. I know the gameplay isnt important, but man, are you using a controller?? because your aim is terrible!

It depends on the motherboard. Search for crossfire AMD boards on Newegg. I remember seeing a couple $100+ ones that people mentioned in the reviews allowed you to modify BIOS in Windows 7.

Yeah, the 4890 is still a better deal than the 5770, which it blows out of the water in performance tests. The only thing 5770 has going for it is dx 11 support and low power consumption.

Nope. Just got an Asus 5850. It's a complete MONSTER. That brand comes with an unlocked voltage regulator. My stock 5850 is 725 core, 1,000 memory, 1.08volts. I have it at 975 core, 1,300 memory and 1.26volts!!! My Vantage GPU Benchmark is just over "17,000" on just the one card!!! Gonna get a second one after Christmas. Just make sure you get one w/ unlocked voltage, or you can't push it that high, no heat difference. Maybe that's why they jumped 100 bucks... disgusting, lol.

nope, u just need 2. Its a double slot card so tht just means that it uses 2 of those metal panels at the back of your computer so u gotta make sure theres nothing next to each card.

what did you have AA turned on, and did you have it on gamer settings or ?

and btw, i have the exact same setup as you. what voltage do you use for the cpu, did you change the multiplier/bus speed? water cooling.

i have the same motherboard/CPU and 2 4890s in crossfire. with all this at default clocks and crysis warhead completely maxed out at 1920 by 1080 i average around 40 fps.

just finding it hard to believe you got an average 50 fps on that level.

Yeah, it's enthusiast. It was 2x aa, but honestly, I hardly "ever" use aa when I'm gaming. Once the rez is high enough, aa is technically useless. Injust uped the volts to 1.45. bus speed up 220. NB/HT up 200. Sits right at 3.83ghz and doesn't goe over 52c full load. Also if you do that, only use 4 gig of ram. having all 8 bottlenecks your bus speed. No biggie, u can have 4 at 1600, or 8 at 1066 or 1333 depending on heat. Hope this helps.

I heard that crytek payed nvidia to do all the optimizations for this game which is a shame becuase ati cards are very good and cryengine is also very good and it would have been nice to see how it would look when taking full advantage of a ati card. guess the unreal engine unleashes true ati power thats also a good engine.
