On January 22, 2011, as I was staring out of the window, grieving her passing, I heard this song for the very first time on the radio. Although it came out in 2006 on the "Greatest HIts, Vol 2" CD, this song had never crossed my path. When I needed comfort the most, God sent it through this song.
My only son was killed in a car accident 6 years ago. He was 23. I, too, miss him terribly. This song is very touching for me. I got a letter from him two days after he has killed saying how much he loved me, how good a job I did raising him and how proud of me he was. I keep a copy with me at all times. On Dec. 26th, 2007, my husband(age 34) died from cancer. He left behind me(his wife) our three precious daughters(13,12 & 7) & lots of family and friends. The process of "getting through" was extremely tough. One day at a time. One breath at a time. But now things are easier(sometimes). We still miss him more than one can imagine. But the memories are what we hang on to. We have moved on, I remarried a wonderful man and my girls now have 2 stepbrothers but its nice to know that God cried for me.

I lost my Brooke Caroline in a tragic car accident March 10, 2004. I love this song...it reminds that her soul is eternal in God's grace & we here on earth have to remain strong until it is our time...I love you Brooke!

I just lost mine 6 months ago im 22 and i was supost to be in school but i wanted to spend one more day with him we read John 3:16 out of the bible then he told me he loved me then i gave him a hug and 5 min after that he died

As I am listening to this song it makes me think about my momma who passed away in 2008. We played this song at her service. Today is a sad day again for me because my ex-boyfriend just lost him mom today. R.I.P. Momma and Momma Cora.

probably the hardest and worst memory i'll ever have. i just wish i would have told him before how much i loved him and how much he meant to me more often. i just hope he knew that he was loved greatly. Will miss him forever but it is the fingerprints he left on my heart and soul i will always remember.

I lost my grandpa April 24th. He raised me and was my best friend. He taught me everything i know. It is so hard to go on everyday knowing he will never meet my children and he wont be there to see me get married. before he passed my one mission in life was for him to see my children and help me raise them. When i wasnt there he would sleep in "my room" because my grandma snores, the day i got my last fitting for my senior prom dress my father and i found him, gone from this life in "my bed".

@MrRason88 thanks so much, it'll be 25 years in october for me i still remember him even though i was so young. Doesn't matter how long it's been it's still hard to go on. Your story is so sad, just know there in a better place and we'll met them again someday that's what i say to myself and that he's up there watching me.

@Dinoross Thank you. She is. She was only 28 and left behind her husband and 3 daughters all under the age of 8. She passed in her sleep.

I've lost so many great people in my life. Every time I sing this song I think of them. Grandma Hall, Grandpa Hall, Grandma Petersen, Grandpa Petersen, Mr. PItts. I love you all. It's hard to listen to this song without getting choked up or teary eyed. :(

I believe the Diamond Rio Band truly believes in God. I would love to see a post of In God We Still Trust. If any of the band gets on here for real I'd just like to take the moment to let them know how much their music has inspired me on occasions when I've wanted to take my own life. Thank God he is merciful & just to put bands like these guys out there to uplift us in times of need.
