I don't now why, but it never quite moved me like Tangerine Dream's version of the scene. Theirs was more surreal and less conventional, in the classic sense.
I will always love this movie. I thing it is classic in fantasy movies now. And the music of Jerry Goldsmith is one of the most amazing scores of all time. Always love you Jerry Goldsmith...

Even the score of the film seems inspired by cocteau's beauty and the beast!
I wish this track was longer...

Hmm.. I like Tangerine Dream's version a lot better. It gives off a much more haunting, hair-raising feeling, at least for me.

Tangerine Dream version is much better, Goldsmith's is freakishly generic.

@L00CIF3R Not generic for its time. Goldsmith was always an innovator. He left his mark by developing lots of styles we use today

@L00CIF3R Jerry Invented Generic music everyone's still trying too catchup to his style

My personal opinion is that this is Goldsmith's best piece.

I'm guessing this is during the part where Lili dances with the black dress until she finds out she's wearing it?

This is more majestic than many "proper" waltz. It's a shame it's so short and doesn't have more of the nice bits but still very good. 5*
