  • Bike looks really nice! How are the tires? I hear they are a little too thin.

  • The Ninja250r is a great little bike, Lot's of fun to be had, from the back roads to the Interstate at times. A good bike to learn to race on, that's on the track. They get good fuel mileage & a lot of looks from people who wish they to was riding.....Take care,yl

  • HEY BROO IS COOL YOUR MOTORCYCLE, I WANT ONE, BUT IN MEXICO IS SOOO EXPENSIVE. SOME DAY Y HAVE ONE.. SALUDOS DE MEXICO AMIGO... (HELLO FROM MEXICO FRIEND) SORRY FOR MY BAD LENGUAGE IM NOT SPEAK INGLISH SO GOOD

  • is there a difference between 250 and 250R? or is it just the name?

  • @KerryDoan same d00d

  • @KerryDoan The Same!

  • do you get a spare key when you buy new? If so how many keys do you get total?

  • @SexyToshi you get 2 keys 1 and 1 replacement if you lose both you need to pay $20 or so and wait for a replacement key

  • Why do you leave your key in the fuel cap?

  • very good video

  • I just bought one this exact make/model the other day. Gotta say it's awesome! I got rid of my FZ750 and "downgraded" to the Ninja 250.

If you guys are considering buying one, I'd do it if I were you - oh wait, I already did.

    :)

  • Oooh please, turn it on ;)

  • Would insurance be pretty spendy for a 19 year old male with a perfect driving record for a 250r?

  • @fuckVEVO84 I have progressive insurance and I too am 19 and have an 08 250. I took an MSF course and my insurance is about 28 bucks a month. I do not commute with the bike.

  • What year did the 250r become fuel injected?

  • Duck Poop!

  • I wish my european version had a fuel gauge

  • Hi, I'm not sure if you mentioned this in the video, but how much did you pay for it at the dealers? And how much do you pay for insurance? Thanks (: and nice video!

  • where u from?

  • looks amazing, how much did it cost you? I live in australia, and it costs $7,500 AUD (same as USD now) for a new one...

  • i thought youre supposed to keep it under 4k rpm in your first 500miles

  • @Erekai Gear count doesn't work that way. Neutral doesn't count so you nave N 1 2 3 4 5 6

  • you have no idea how long i have been trying to find a video like this thanks and it was a good video.

  • Would you say this is a good bike for beginners? I dont want a bike more powerful than 250cc

  • @MESSER8989 its good

  • nice video... i want one! im planning on getting this bike brand new. the only thing u missed out on the vid was turning it on! lol

  • I have a 2007 Ninja 250 and I noticed you said "6 speed manual transmission" in this video. Are you counting Neutral as one of the "speeds" so you have Neutral and 5 Gears (like my '07 250) or does it actually have 6 ridable gears? (Not including Neutral) I don't know a whole lot about the 2008+ Ninja 250s.

  • @Erekai This bike have 6 speed not include neutral as told.

  • Nice bike, and the video!!!

  • I have the 2010 Ninja 250r and put 700 miles in less than a month! I'm loving this so much. I wish I had a faster bike but it will be too tall for me to ride since I'm only 5.1" You can check out my clip while riding in downtown, I actually do freeway riding a lot at about 75-85 mph and the bike run great. Thinking of getting new exhaust so my bike would sound meaner ;)

  • @iambaicha IIRC the ninja 650 has an identical seat height. But you might want to keep the 250 for a bit and develop your skills.

  • i love this bike

  • just got this bike, except its black, loving it! still trying to get use to shifting lol

  • I want oneeeeeeeee hopefully getting it on this march

  • THE WAY YOU DESCRIBED WAS NICE, WELL DONE, BETTER THAN THE OTHERS ;)

  • hahaha...the first day I would go on a long trip and go ahead and get that 1,000 kilometer "break in" out of the way.

  • niced bike

  • nice bike.

  • how much do you pay for the insurance monthly? can you give me some guidelines for cheap insurace, i am gonna buy one this month, i am from tx., and statefarm quoted me 98 dollars per month for full coverage,

  • How do the helmet hooks work?

  • @Melville21 You hook the D rings under the hook, and then let the helmet dangle on the side of the motorcycle. You can then stick the rear seat back on and lock and and poof. You have a helmet lock. It doesn't stop someone from cutting the strap, but it does stop someone from just walking away with the helmet.

  • whats no double riding ? how much is a seat cowl in dollars from a kawasaki dealer

  • nice bike man ...enjoy!!!

  • Navy boy? 300 clicks is boat talk

  • Got mine this week. So in love with this bike ;p

  • Esse cara esta com o nariz emtupido!!

  • @6kaneko88 Eh assim que eu falo sempre tambem. :( Muito chato!

  • wait how do you know what to drive if its in km/h?

  • @sk8erfreak9242 max km/h is 210

  • @sk8erfreak9242 Im sorry hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaoooooooooboyyyyyyyyyhahahahahahaha

  • very nice review from a consumer perspective:)

  • its cool looking but when i baught mine i rode it for a month and got bored with it quick especialy if you ride with sport bikers and your kicking around on a cool looking moped so i got reid of it and got me an older fuel injected sport bike a 04 kawi 636 alot more bike for even cheaper then 250 save your time and just get a 600cc just take your time like you would any new rider would and you will be ok

  • Hey, How do you use the helmet hooks? Do you have to take the rear seat off?(PLEASE RESPOND)

    thanks

  • Nice walk around

  • cuanto consume por kilometro a 80 kmh? y cuanto consume a 150 kmh ?

  • 169 kmph how much is that in mph??

  • @kurdi82

    like 100, haha

  • thats the best camera i ever seen dude.. lol nice bike man, i actually just bought this bike today. RED color.... anything i need to know about this bike man? I hope it last a long time. I'm buying it used , but only 1588 K on it

  • how much does it cost??

  • do you have the swine flu?

  • Very good review. Thank you very much Birchaholic.

  • what is that knob on the left side, just above the shifter.

is that a gas valve or something? what is it?

  • nice bike, what this like in traffic, i heard that these bike get really hot when in traffic idleing

  • nice bike to start with isnt it?

  • @TronicLover

    yes, very

  • hey birchaholic, i have a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250r, im still breaking in my bike so far 800km, i read the manual and it says the break in period is complete after 1600km. So that raises my question, so can i start double riding at 1000km or 1600km, the dealer does not know anything about when double riding will be ok., so i hoped that you would be able to tell me out of your knowledge. Thanks

  • ur gonna change the exhaust system to?

  • Are you sure thats a 2009 model?

My 2009 250R has a temp gauge rather then a fuel gauge, they changed from the fuel to the temp in the 2009 model.

But it has the Special colour scheme like mine.

But mine is injected, not carb'd :)

  • when you get it up to 167, let me kno

  • Nice bike. I really like that bike but dont know if im tall enough. Do you think I would be ok; im 5 ft 6?

  • @jkd1984 Yeah for sure. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone over about 6' though.

  • omg i hate the digital displays :D i like to see the needle going up :D

  • hello. do you think we can change the classic meter to the digital analog meter ?? it ugly mann !!

  • you say something about the changes in 2008 and 2009! i thing you have the special edition and its more expancive that the all green! i mean you have to pay it to got it! its not the new year changes for the model right?

  • whats double riding srry im a newb

  • double riding is 2 people, ,like you and a passanger

  • oh i see lol now i feel like a bartard haha rofl

  • @nipkonx no offense...but im 13 and i figgured that out.......

  • Birchaholic - You still enjoying your bike? I've been wondering if you get tired of the 250 after a season or is it enough bike to keep for a few years?

  • i wouldnt say im tired of it, its a fun bike and i dont plan on getting rid of it anytime soon but i couldnt really move up to a bigger bike because of insurance so im sayin if you have the option to get something a little bigger i would do it

  • @birchaholic how old are you and what do i pay for insurance a month? also is the acceleration fastest enough?

  • @birchaholic is the 250r fast? congratulations for ur bike its nice

  • @ilwlj ya for sure, i got a 2008 ninja 500r for a starter bike, and i feel the same way, its fun and cheap to run and i wont get rid of it, but i have had it for a year and a half and i am lookin for something bigger. i rode a r6 and it wasnt quite what i wanted, so i am thinkin hard about the yamaha FZ1. they are cool, and fun to ride too.

  • When you get on this bike, it's almost as big in size as it's bigger brother the ZX-6, just an inch or 2 difference! I just bought a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R today from the dealer in a show room. The power this bike puts out is more than enough to get you excited with riding around on it, it is so smooth and quick! So ilwlj I'd say if you where to get this bike you'd notice for yourself as i'm sure birchaholic already knows that you'd agree with me.

  • Can't wait to get mine :D. Great video

  • I have the same bike but the speedometer only goes up to 120mph

  • this is in kph not mph thats why lol

  • O painel classico é show melhor que os digitais

  • hi, and what the camera filmed the video, which for the model?

  • vid is so good clarity and all thats how people should make videos good luck

  • @wirelessoptical

    its a good learner bike

    can hit around 170km/h

its fine on road, dont know what the hell ur on about

  • is there any way you can change the kmh to mph?

  • you can take the whole speedo apart and replace the sticker under the needle. it takes a great deal of your time though

  • how much does it cost?

  • in the states it goes for around 8k brand new.

  • msrp is about 4500 in the usa though so you should be able to find it for much less than 8k

  • ummm no.... more like 4k

  • Dude..! this video is so bloody clear... awsme clarity... iv booked my Ninja as well.. over here in India they have released the Fuel Injected version. no big physical modification.. its around $6500 here..

  • Comment removed

  • "A credit card or two" HA

  • I just got mine yesterday...I got the 2009 SE version too. This bike is awesome. The US version is carburated...the european version is fuel injected. They did that to keep the price where us americans wanted it. The 0-60mph is 5.75sec. At 70mph it will be turning 8g in 6th gear.

  • haha i just bought that bike today!!! love it not gonna have videos for a couple weeks though but mine is not metric with the gauges its american standard so mine says 120

  • as i saw, the speedometer show km/h (which implies non usa models, european ones maybe) but there is a fuel indicator, and not a temperature one (wich is standard at non usa models), so is this how you bought it, or have you made it so, because it's the first i see (and seems much more comfortable than the eu model)

  • so how quick is the 0-100kmph or 0-64mph on tis bike??

  • Got my 2010 ordered from my local dealer. Told it will be here in a month (including customs period). It is on a ship sailing the waters as we speak.

  • ...and wrong...that's the Limited Edition paint job, the 2009 is also available in red, black and Kawa green.

  • It says it is fuel injected...not with a carb??? ON the official Kawasaki brochure!!

  • omg thts nice hoping to get mine later next year

  • nice vid. my brother is telling me to get a 250cc for my first bike so im saving up for a bike and now ive narrowed by search down to this one im 14 and cant wait to turn 16. gotta save which is a pain

  • when do the 2010 comes out. havent heard anything on it but when i got the 09 there was talk all over the internet by this time

  • october or november iv heared may just be a roumer tho

  • Great vid!

  • nice video very informative thanks

  • Nice video! If you ever need any parts for your 250R check out our site 250-R . c o m

  • nice bike man

    thaks for sahre your knowledge

    florianópolis,brazil

  • meaning not redlining often (but u still do once in a while because the engine needs to get used to those kinds of speeds), no 2-up riding and in general u keep the revs low so the piston rings set nicely. but this method is not proven to be better than others, just more recommended to play it safe. my break in was keep in under 5k for 1rst 400km then under 7k until 500, >8k till 700, >9k till 800, >10k till 1000 and redlining once or twice in between intervals. this is just my 2 cents lol.

  • the point of a break in is to seat the piston rings properly. when the bike is new from the factory the rings are about 90% seated. the point where the piston rings are broken in is also the same point everything begins they begin to go the other way of a break in. on the 250 its about 20000km. the point of a break in ( about 1000km) is to get the whole drivetrain used to the stress. during the 1000km break in it is recommended not to constantly stress the engine...

  • a 250cc as your second bike? what was your first?

  • Have you heard of the hard way( riding hard ) of breaking in your bike?

  • No I have not heard of that I was just goin with what the dealer told me

  • There was this site (i think it was motoman or something) that mentioned that if you break it in hard, you will not loss any hp. Cant try it on my bike tho, coz my bike was used. Nice bike btw, ride safe!

  • That's all just humbug if you ask me. I haven't found a scientific study which proves that a particular break-in method is better than what's suggested in the handbook. Likewise, I haven't found any which proves that trashing the engine before the official break-in period is bad.

The only people who can afford to buy 100 engines and conduct such studies on them are the manufacturers, but they don't publicly publish them. I'd just follow their break-in recommendations and not fool around.

  • there are scientific studies that have proven hard break in is better :/

  • Yeah, the exhaust is the only thing I don't really like about my 250R. Gonna get a Remus slip-on next week.

  • Yeah I wanna get a Two Brothers Carbon Fiber Full Exhaust

  • i luv your walkaround of ur bike
