every time I try to move my image on gimp it leaves like a checkered black box in the middle! What do I do to avoid that?

@narutoandme15 that's because you have no background under the picture, you have to open up a new untitled image that'll give you a white background and then paste the picture on top of the new background. hopefully that helps! sorry if i didn't explain it well, but just try playing around with it and see if it works! (:

@nervousnotebooks i just do that to make it easier to copy and paste into gimp on one image rather than opening up 3 images on gimp and open a 4th one just to make a blend

@Shivali2971 I wasnt able to get this too work. My eraser wasn't doing what yours was doing even though I followed along?I wonder what went wrong. I ended up using the blend tool but I like what you did here.

Hey, I have a small question. When I paste two pictures and try to move them side by side, I have a grid behind the first one I pasted. If I try to move it out of place, it takes off some of the picture. Help?

How do you move the picture? When I move the image with the move tool underneath the image there is a checkered background and the picture goes under the white background. Please help!

@Mileyrosebloom when there is a checkered background it means that the picture is the only layer you have. Before you start moving, you have to make sure there is at least one layer on your background, so that when you add you picture, it says there are 2 layers instead of 1. hope this helps(:
