Do you seriously use that little amount of dow 55? I dont overlube but you got so little i doubt there was even enough for a thin layer on all the engine orings that need grease
I sold my EGO9 for a Angel A1 Fly (was better then the EGO) then I bought a Victory that I play with and keep the Angel as a backup... The Victory beats the EGO9 100x over...
there was no dow55 put onto the bolt watch the vid again. Also follow the manual like I have. ****** BASIC PE MAINTINENCE******** does not require the ram to be lubed.
I never said Dow 55 was put on the bolt. I was correcting your reasoning as to why it shouldn't be used. You said that the o-rings would swell and wear out faster...that is false.
It it was going to hurt the gun bob wouldnt have put it on there in the first place. Dont be a jackass. And you really shouldn't be crying about our vids that actually are doing something to help ppl. Instead of posting vids on how many modes your gun can shoot... be worth while and put your knowledge to good use if my info is so wrong.
Those metal components do not come lubed from the factory. When you shoot the marker, the lube tends to be moved around a bit, and it can appear that way. Why would you lube a piece of metal that doesn't come into contact with anything? Why lube a spring?
because it will move and touch it does not just float in the PE. I am just doing what I was told from a gun tech that was taught by bob himself. I am not going to go against anything he says bc he has never steered me wrong with in comes to gun maintenance before. Putting a slight smear of lube on the spring will not hurt anything
I didn't say that lubing the spring would hurt anything. It's just pointless. You're using an o-ring lubricant on a metal surface. Use some common sense.
Then why would you put lube on the plastic part of the PE casing? If you don't like the vid, then make your own. Our fans respect our opinion, and we put out quality information for them. I hope you can be more respectful and productive on here in the future. We appreciate you watching.
I'm not sure what you're referring to there...are you trying to refer to the white delrin donut? That would be what the poppet seals against and Dow 55 helps to swell that piece and create a better seal.
Dow 55 will not swell aluminum on the other hand.
I just get mad when people post up informative videos with incorrect information in them.
You said not to put dow55 on anything metal cause it is pointless... so you are saying that putting dow55 on the front and back half of the PE is out of the question because that is not an o ring... even though it will help the PE slide in and out of the gun??? That makes no sense.
Also you do not want to put dow55 on the seal/donut... it will cause the donut to swell and cause abnormal and inconsistent operation of the firing sequence(valve stick).
The donuts are made to fit perfectly already... unless you have a donut that was not fit properly from the factory. If that is the case call blast and they will send you a new one free of charge. dow55 on the seal would f it all up.
The only part of the engine that comes into contact with the inside of the marker are o-rings. Metal does not come into contact with metal.
And lubing the donut was recommended by BLAST to fix odd leaks that the Proficiency engine had. I have done this to all 3 Marqs I have owned, and the dozen or so I have teched.
if you are talking about putting dow on the donut, it was recommended by terry. it is only supposed to be for the victories that were having plroblems.... and putting dow on any metal will have no effect besides having more grease in your engine that can work its way into air passages. also it wastes a lot of grease
If you really want to lube a metal surface, you should put some lube on the ram shaft because there is an interior o-ring on the poppet that needs a little lube. But you ignored that one too.
And BLAST (Bob Long himself and the rest of the techs) recommended to lube the donut to solve mystery leaks in the PE engine. There is a sticky in the Marq forum on Pbnation with this info.
Matt is referring to the sealing side of the poppet itself...not the donut.
I am sick of this convo... if you want the manual for the victory to look over for BASIC maintenance then just ask I have it and do not think it is available online yet. You will find that almost nothing you said was mentioned in it. Most importantly feel free to make your own vids since you are the self proclaimed expert on all that is bob long. Our fans will continue to watch and support us and I am sorry if you choose not to. Good day
I'm not trying to sound like a dick, but you are very defensive.
I can guarantee that I have owned and fixed more guns than you have...I know what I'm talking about...you do not. You simply try to repeat what you have heard from other people. In the past year I have owned 3 Marqs and 5 Gen 5 Timmy's...so yes, I am well versed in the Bob Long line of markers.
you're also a fucking cunt. There's a reason why we like this mate's account and if you don't then bugger off. If you're a self proclaimed guru try making some fucking maintenance vids instead of just showing people you know how to pull a trigger. Seriously piss off you stupid fucking wanker.
What the hell is your problem? If you don't like these vids then DON'T WATCH THEM.. yes, critque is good but calling someone an idiot is NOT critque. These guys work really hard on their videos and if you don't like them, then make your own.
hey I just got the manual for the victory from a great fan!
It has a break down of when to do maintenance on each part of the gun. According to the manual you will need to do this maintenance after every weekend of play... aprox 2-4 cases.
Would it be fine to use eclipse gun lube on it cuz bob long said any grease??

Is the Proficiency Engine stock on the Victory, or is it a separate upgrade like with the rest of the Marq series?

You should not lube all the metal surfaces. Putting lube on the spring is useless.
stewey956 2 years ago
Bob Long recommends gun oil on the bolt o-rings as well...he as for years.
And you don't put Dow 55 on the bolt because that causes FSDO, and if you use enough it will buildup in front of the eyes.
And the one o-ring on the back of the ram (the one o-ring you didn't touch) is probably one of the most important in the entire engine.
