  • this music creeped me the fuck out when i first played it. i still get chills when i get to this part of the game.

  • See, son?

In my time we used to play RPG's with Eco-stories, you know, graphix were not that important

  • Ugh ugh this was one of my all time favorite songs in the whole game. I'd just put Cloud in the Forgotten City and leave him there for hours while I did stuff around the house.. just to hear the music over and over :D

  • @mercatorblue I loved anxious heart, Tifa's theme and who are you?... love to FF7 :D

  • I can still remember how I felt the moment Aerith first died on me. I was 9 and my mom came into my room to ask if I wanted dinner. I turned around to answer her and then BAM - Aerith gets stabbed. I turned back around, saw what happened, dropped my controller and proceeded to FREAK THE FUCK OUT. My mom just backed out of the room without another word. I don't have good memory so it's funny that I can remember almost every single thing about that moment. That's the mark of a truly good game.

  • fuk i cant go back aww man i forgot to save!!

    get me every time !

this game has been embedded in to my very soul!

  • it's nice to see all these comments on these videos, knowing that there is still some faith in humanity ^_^

shine on, you crazy bastards! *bro-fist*

  • sounds like cells theme from dbz kinda

  • @xJT94x please drown, comparing FF7 to that... I'm not even going to say it.

  • @Endaviour

Lil nigga I been playin' this game since before you were walking.

You betta checkedy check yoself befo' you wreck yoself!

  • Its so fuckin awesome, makes me feel so many emotions at the same time. Nostalgia, sad, fear, admiration, and so many others.. I love this game and his music.

  • save our planet!

  • One person thought the dislike button said "Dis I Like ".

  • I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH IT SUCH A GREAT ONE TO PLAY AND so little people know about it :( make me sad

  • Gaia....

  • @geostigma123, haha me too. Still does give me the chills. I love this music and hate it at the same time because you know what's about to happen. I almost want to keep running around in circles getting into fights, just so I don't have to go into the next area. So suits the mood tho, the fact u wake up in the middle of the night in tat freaky place to sleep in, just adds to it. :)

  • When you heard this tune you knew Aeris was going to die shortly, so you played the game slow as possible checking every house but it was inevitable.

  • @hahaRanqe That's exactly how i felt about this song. I love it, but at the same time, it always managed to send chills down my spine, because i knew what was about to happen.

  • Destinated to be the greatest game in all times.

  • So show me on the dolly where the game touched you...

  • Such nostalgia..Why is it always bittersweet? Maybe it's because you realise that the time gone is time you'll never get back...Strange when you think of it that way.

  • Ahhh memories, sweet, sweet memories, my favourite video game and score I could listen to this soundtrack over and over again and never get tired. :)

  • This tune scared the shit out of me when I was like 9 years old

  • the person that disliked it...either sephiroth or JENOVA...

  • @BahamutZEROteraFlare or the president of Nintendo.... lol

  • @Girichoko yeah, all game companies today are trying to copy ff7's awesomeness

  • I'm just going to sit huddled in a corner in the fetal position now.

  • can you hear the cry of the planet?

  • can you hear the cry of the planet

  • Dammit Cloud! The Planet's dyin'!

  • BP made the planet cry

  • You can feel the tension from this piece. You knew something major was going to happen, so much build up.

  • .... who the FUCK dislike that? :<

  • You can hear the pain of the planet in this song, and it makes me realise how much our own planet probably is in pain :/

  • sound at 0:51 is orgasmic

  • Hear the cry of the planet, so planet hear you...

    Pray for Japan :(

  • i wish nobuo uematsu produced music of this awesomesauceness for ff9

  • That's weird. Everything here on Youtube calls this 'You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet', or close to it. My copy of the OST says the title is 'Listen to the Cries of the Planet'. Personally, I like the title I have, seems to lend more to the eerie feel.

  • you just knew something bad was about to happen when you heard this song...

  • So many greats, this was MY fav.

  • This song still has the effect it did 13 years ago. So creepy.

  • i haven t heard this one for a long time.the best times of my life and my first final fantasy.with music like that there is no way you cannot feel the game completly, feel the confusion at times, the power or the anger.thank god i could play these games back then

  • the 1 that voted "not cool" clearly did not have the priviledge of playing this game back in 97,

i still wade in nostalgia hearing the soundtracks....

i miss it so bad :(.....

    Sephiroth is so cool....

  • @11Quetzal11 why are you missing it when you could BE PLAYING IT!!!!

  • @dstmt2 i do i have 2 copys of the original 1 to play and the other oe never to be toutched forever to be preserved in a flawless state , that is untill i die and it gous in the coffin with me :)

  • @11Quetzal11 ´Better give it to your grandchildren instead. So they know what I good game is really made of.

  • @Galgamos hmmm yeah good one , migt change my will to give it to my grand children

thing is i dont have any kids at least not that i know of and ...to be honest....i dont want kids

i dont wanna put a being onto this planet further overpopulating it not to mention i dont want my kid to live in this corrupt fucked up system

as soon as i sighn the birthcertificate my kid gets a fine on his name hes going to pay off during his life

a city is nothing but a big money-battery for the government

  • @Galgamos but ...they wil put scratches on it .....aaaarg no not my FF7 copy no .....i already invision the abuse the carelesness towards the discs .....some 1 spilling mayonese onto it ...NOOOOO ......its unbearable

id rather have it in my coffin so some acheologist 1 day diggs me up and sees the copy and knows i was a person with good taste

  • 1 person did not cry for the planet.

  • The song has an uneasy feel. It may be a beautiful city lost by time, but something just didn't feel right about the place, and I found out the hard way why.... :(

  • It's like a sad, Final Fantasy version of Stairway to Heaven. Except, technically, Sephiroth is at the top.

  • @ROFLHellFire encouraging ain't it? lol

  • @xJoycexVampirex haha agreed. Fantastic song as the rest of the soundtrack.

  • this is the music that i fall asleep to when i have a test! idk why but i feel sooo badass when i wake up.

    my favorite from the soundtrack.

  • This track always reminds me of Tool - Schism, or perhaps the other way around.

  • A mysterious place full of wisdom. The Forgotten city...I guess that our Planet is crying too...but we have no Ancients to heal it...

Everytime I get to The city of the Ancients, I feel a bit stressed and sad. I know that I will cry again at Aerith´s tragic death.

  • I miss music like this in games. Very eerie but mysterious, makes you really feel like you're at a forbidden/fabled area.

  • One little boy got owned by Safer Sephiroth ;)

  • this song brings back so many memories -.- on how i wish they re-made this but in playstation 3 graphics. no game will be able to top FFVII .. thumbs up if you agree

  • @DomiKing21 They are making one. the story and everything is going to be the same but the graphics are gonna look better. WAY better. don't know when it's coming out though. Sorry =(

  • @kiddygirl98

dude there is no final fantasy 7 comingout with betetr graphics or anything, it was just a demo, also square statet themself they wont do any enw final fantasy 7 remake, it would take them more than 15 years to complet it. so quitt dreaming please and be sure there will never be such a great game as ff7 ever. sad but true

  • @Jimrox328

Do you remember why they said it would take 15 years? Considering the movement is a lot more restrictive(for the most part) than games like FF13(which is already pretty linear), and the battle system is VERY basic, if they could just up the graphics, I don't see why it would take 15 years....unless it's just because of the loong story...

Eh I'm not sure. They Don't really need the same developers from the first game to make an updated version. 15 years just sounds way too long.

  • @chris110012

I agree. All they'd really have to do, is use the original as a sort of "template", and simply update the graphics. 3 years, tops. Though I'd assume update the audio, as well, maybe a year, if that. Adding voice-overs? A few months, at most.

  • @DomiKing21 It must be done!!

  • @DomiKing21 Soooo many games have topped it since, open your eyes.

  • 1 guy missed the like button coz he's crying?

  • Found out my little brother died this morning. Why can't I cry? Why do I just want to listen to this?

  • A chilling song, yet so freaking sad cause you know Aerith will die.

She really rocked and won quite some boss battles for me. I couldn't find a character to replace her till the End.

She was also kinda cute in Crisis Core.

I even thought about replaying the game with her using some hack, since I already completed it once anyways.

  • Ive

  • Comment removed

  • In a strange way, this music reminds me of Stabbing Westward's You Complete Me

  • i think im going to play this on the weekend...such a good game

  • @ant123456 same... i think ive actually played this at least once a year since it came out haha well not every year but i always have some contact with it anyway

i always find it ironic it was one of my first proper games and its still my favorite and always will be id say

  • This song gives me chills every time.

  • Awesome tune. I bet the Mass Effect Music was inspired by this.

  • Answer:

    Before listening: Umm... No..?

    After listening: O_o YES.

I mean, just that intro strings-kinda thing REALLY gives the song the right for it's title. And I mean it.

The strongest game song I've ever heard.

  • When did this play?

  • @DragonDogmeat

It plays when you go the forgotten city, the city/capital of the ancients, right before you find Aeris.

  • is there some play you can download thise songs? there are so many realy good ones from FF7

  • Try piratebay. (Org)

    Look for Nobuo Uematsu Collection.

  • this music is so ethereal and atmospheric...yet it's enough to drive you insane.

  • My favorite song of the whole game.

    It's amazing.

  • Creepiness. And who the hells been in Clouds room when hes having that kip in one of the scariest places you would have to be insane enough to even consider sleeping in?

  • one of my fav ff7 tracks...the choir that starts at 0:22 is just so powerful

  • Guess who dies?

  • Cloud.

  • HOLD THE LINES

  • Aerith's? Lost in translation.

  • Fucking epic.

  • wow hands down the best final fantasy song out there... creepiness, badassness, and nostalgia all put into one

  • *sniff*

I still get all choked up whenever I hear this. =*(

  • Still have the 2nd disc to this game. My cousin took the 1st and the 3rd, guess he forgot the 2nd. But now iam pissed cuz he lost it T_T.

  • why did they change her name

  • get it for free lol i got it on my comp lol get the rom for it reply to me if u want a link

  • O_O!!!!!! how you get it for freeeee o.o? u must tell meh >:3

  • can i have the link?

  • Can I still buy this game in the UK?? I want it so much!! I have never had an experience with the "old" FF´s I mean I only have X-2 , XII. And dirge of cerberus.. . : (

  • the 2 best are X and VII

  • tru

  • You can doanload it on PSN, for like 6.99 or something like that I believe. Not a hard copy, but it's the game none-the-less.

  • I've loved this song ever since I first played FFVII. it gives me the chills...

  • I never played that game but this song is awesome :)

  • you SHOULD

  • i know and i want but i don't have PS2 :P

  • i have FFIX for the PS1.... im sure FFVII is also for PS1

  • yes it is

  • C-L-A-S-S-I-C

And what a powerful scene soon after T_T

an dude im almost willing to donate my PS2 to you so you can get the experience

  • This was my favorite bit of music from FFVII. It bummed me out that I couldn't return to the area easily to rehear it.

  • I miss the good old times with Cloud and his friends.

I think we all had really luck to live in the time period where this masterpiece was created!

  • @majestrixxx yea!

  • @majestrixxx i was born when this game was made

  • @kokulink

Wow, you just made me feel very old. I played this in highschool. LOL

  • @dantedraco lol yea =]

  • @majestrixxx Kids these days just want hi-def graphix and head shots..... This is a game to be played.

  • @Girichoko hahaha headshots lol

  • @Girichoko hahaha, they don't know what they've missed ^^ !

  • Yeah, this is a very cryptic theme. Very powerful. Another sample of the genius that is Nobuo Uematsu.

  • @kyoopihd - Nobuo made Final Fantasy. Which is why VII through X were amazing and most since have been complete failures. XI was shit, XII was shit, XIII was shit and so is XIV. I miss Nobuo.... :'(

  • @Scepticide Nobuo is still the one created Dissidia and Duodecim right?!

  • @Vipera217 - Uh no, they were done by Tetsuya Nomura. Nobuo has had little to no involvement with anything SquareEnix have done since Final Fantasy X. He left them in 2004, probably because they became Jewish little shits who forgot about the fans now they have money. He contributes some material, some made it into every console release since he left, but he had nothing to do with either of those games. Equally the Final Fantasy rock band Black Mages, which he starred, split up too.

  • @Scepticide ARGH! got that mixed up! so, Tetsu is the director and Uematsu is the composer ..sorry xDD

What's happening to game creators now?! first, this, now, DMC5?!

  • @Vipera217 - Ah DMC 5 isn't 5, its a re-boot, which means completely new... so in other words in Devil May Cry 1 - Take two. Ninja Theory are shit anyway and Capcom suck for putting their franchises in the hands of western developers because their studio's in Japan haven't done anything worthwhile since the PS2 was released. Slant Six who did SOCOM Confrontation for PS3 are doing Resident Evil 6 (unconfirmed but enough evidence.) which will be PS3 exclusive for a while.

  • @Scepticide there's a lesson here! remain loyal to your company, then you're remaining loyal to the fans

  • This is really amazing. The best theme for me of the OST.

  • i can never get enough of this game

  • God...so many pleasant memories of playing this game through all hours of the night. I always couldn't wait until I was able to get to this world due to this beautiful, haunting piece.

And don't worry, people. I also cried when Aerith died. Very shocking indeed.

  • One of my favourite songs of the game. It's so creepy and forbidding. Poor Aerith :(

  • One of my favorite place and song of the game, even if it means someone dear is gonna die...

  • I know, it's very sad about Aerith.

  • i hate what this level leads too....Aerith's death :(

  • This is my favorite piece, it brings back so many memories.

  • This song is creepy, I like it.

  • I love this song; and cherish itφ

  • Haha this song really reminds me about 10 years ago i was playing FF7 and this music was playing in the part it was so late at night, and i was going to travel the next day, and then the scene happened in the game, and it ruined my entire trip i dont know why. I guess i was so into the game and i was like 9 years old back then but i remember i was like shaking and my eyes were watering, its funny now that i look back at it.

  • Aerith was the key to the entire story. Remember in the begining the flowers she had. somethin told me she was gonna die by the intro you see her praying. Ah what amazing things openings can tell you.

  • In the opening of the game you see her face look up, and the last thing you see in the ending is her face again.

  • this song suits a church of the damned

  • This song makes me sad.

Like something bad is going to happen, and no matter how hard I try to stop it, or prepare for it, there is nothing I can do.

This game kind of fucked me up. Maybe because I was so young when I played it...

  • A great song, always reminds me of some distant event, dream or feeling from my childhood, like a "lost memory".

  • The way it starts off....OOH creepy.

  • I like the name of the music.

  • I used this song and some other ones for a school project on the revolutionary war. This song brings back so many memories, it just sends chills down your spine. I couldn't even talk enough to present this part of the project to the class!

  • i cried when aerith died lol

  • OMG WHAT DO U MEAN SHE DIES :'(

  • umm... melorine means nothing.

  • it was a joke :) ive played FF7 so many times i need to bust it out again i miss cloud :P

  • tune

  • This tune is perfect when you consider that you hear it when the last of a species seems to wander, in a trance, towards her destiny, and is then wiped out without much thought.

  • this song sends chills down my spine...

    R.I.P. Aeris/Aerith

  • It's all coming back to me, the search for Aeris, the City of the Ancients, I went into the central building, found Aeris, and then...

  • The same here :S !

  • masamunekabob.  ; ;

  • yeah...the moment me and my crew where sleeping nearby when all in a sudden some voice awaked me and went for the search of aerith...i fuckin love that game!!:D
