I got to give props for any band that knows this tune by Terry Reid. And they've done it well BUT it ain't Terry Reid. Go check out his original studio recording from 1969. Now THAT's a vocal.

@TheToTimusic thanks for your concern but I was actually referring to Jack White when i said jack white... You do know that they are both in this video, right?
@SuperMcabral Terry Reid might have done it better, but it's great to see a band in the 2000 era paying homage to him and this song. That's what it is all about my man. Rock n Roll will never die. Keep your head up!
@SuperMcabral Terry Reid was good of course, but Jack White is one of the best musicians in the world period. If your a Terry Reid fan you should take it as a compliment that White would play this song instead of boasting how much better Reid is. You should check out the documentary called "It Might Get Loud". See for yourself the other two people other than White that are in the film.
i just started listening to the white stripes and i've never heard of this band, so you'll have to forgive me if this question seems a bit stupid. But who covered who? I know the raconteurs did a cover of this song but i dont know if they covered Glastonbury or if they covered him.
you do no that glastonbury is the place their performing at not a band in this case, and this is the raconteurs in this vid, as for covering, im not sure but i think its terry reid
Brendon and Jack, just want to thank you for digging down deep and finding a gem a song from a true 60's blues/rocker. We need more of you out there keeping it alive. Long live the Rac and Terry Reid.
I dunno they dont really sound much like the band... but same kinda vibe... like just into making good music... ... oh and it's not just bob dylans band .. there a band ( so to speak) by themselves...
thumbs up on that shit, i really dont like these people together, the other guys alright . in the beginning , but when the song starts . im trying to listen to jack sing , and the other guys singin over him. and im also so use to seeing jack being the band , and not part of it. kna mean.
the energy exuding is amazing just from watching and listening on my computer- I can only imagine what it would have felt like to be whitness this first-hand.
why do they play all that shit on the radio instead of this?
crazynapsacker 4 days ago
I wish the Raconteurs had been this good when I saw them on the first tour. They charged $50 a ticket and played for 45 minutes, I shit you not.
While this is a good cover, I don't think it tops the original by any stretch.
librarianeric 3 months ago
@librarianeric The band doesn't get to choose the price of the tickets.

a decent cover, but not a patch on the Terry Reid original.

Awesome cover, hopefully it turned a few people on to the incredible Terry Reid, surely one of our most overlooked musical genius's.
malcatron 2 years ago 4
it did for at least one. i checked him out shortly after hearing this. i love him! he's like Steve Marriott (my favorite singer) with brown hair.

2:04 guy has a cool t-shirt. He's having a shocker though.
I was right up front but still not close enough to them there at glasto- I just noticed Brendan's face is fascinating to watch.
My stomach does a flip at Jack's hotness whenever the camera goes to him hehe.
But the cameraman sucks and it's annoying to watch the stupid sky and crap when you wanna see the band. No-one wants to see the audience.

what exactly is jack doing when he's tapping on that box?
BiscuitsJoe 3 years ago
killswitching i think
bischke 3 years ago 3
It is killswitching. Basically it cuts the circuit, so no signal gets through.
Like flicking an on/off switch, really.
