Acer Revo Memory Upgrade

A few questions:

How big of a performance jump did you get? I have one of these, with "CPU 230 @1.6GHz, with 896 M of RAM", according to the system specs, hooked up as a media server for my TV. It chokes badly when it comes to playing Blu-Ray quality .mkv files, though. Do you think that a memory upgrade -- or any available kind of upgrade at all -- would fix this?

Thanks buddy just installed mine in less than 5 min. What is that other smaller ram like slot in there I open mine and there's another slot off to the opposite side

@01chohan i don't think so, what is ddr2 keeps ddr2, ddr3 has a different slot, ddr3 memory has that gap more to the middle.

I had a 4x1GB Kingston kit go bad on me in the past, and lots of single-sticks in lower density. Granted DDR2 Desktop RAM.

i thought was a router or modem than i remeber how small they are.i have here a huge desktop,.i was very proud i had 7 or 8 years old pentum 4 desktop.i first replaced the hard disk,i first did mi self i blew it allmost it was ready for windows 7,only need more memory,i had 512 i bought 1 gig or 2 gig,i try,or it did t fit or something else i end up with a over load,if i have to do in few years with this dual core i go to the computer shop

i had to replace my motherboard after i overclocked it too far and fried the motherboard

Does this PC run off 12vdc? I wonder if it would run directly off a 12v battery for field day? If so, it would make a nice little field PC for Ham Radio Deluxe

I don't know why, but acer makes accessing the ram on their netbooks and nettops extremely difficut, LOL

I had to literally remove my motherboard, in order to upgrade the ram on my acer aspire one.
