Where could I find more information on the origins of Vietnamese Spoon Playing?

Hi,

I learnt how to play the spoons in Vietnam in 1949. The origin of the introduction of spoon playing came from one soldier who had had the military training in Soviet Union during the 40's.

Then I learnt the spoon playing with him .

After that , when I came to France in 1961, I developed many possibilities of new techniques . What you have seen on this clip are my personal development of spoon techniques .

That is what the origins of Vietnamese Spoon Playing

I't looks like you have the spoons fused together at the base. Am I correct? I am trying right now to make a pair like that using a cold weld. I'll have to see tommorow if it can hold.

Not at all . The 2 spoons are separated so that I could change the timbre of the sound. If it is fused you can hardly modify the color of the timbre.
