  • dude this is bs dude how the fuck can u give 5th graders 12th grade work and shit u son a of bitch

  • This show is total bullshit.

  • Ken, we know you're not smarter than a 5th grader. You're smarter than all of US!

  • He is smarter then a fifth grader!

  • man these questions are NOT 5th grade level.

  • Of course his wife has braces. Gotta love this guy.

  • I'm sorry, but Ken Jennings is smarter than a fifth grader. Half of the questions on here are learned in high school.

  • He's actually smart! Go figure

  • He made a smart decision. He said sometimes he knew the answer to the 1 mil question and sometimes he didn't. If he HAD been wrong he "would have kicked himself in the morning."

Most people who go for the million dollars end up being wrong... that's part of the gameshow system: pressure them into risking more, then they lose more in the end and you don't have to pay up as much. Statistically, you're more likely to net more if you back out early.

It may not look "cool," but it's smarter.

  • I find that a lot of questions on this show are not 5th grade questions. I'm a smart guy and do very well on trivia-based game shows while playing at home, but there is no way I learned some of the stuff they ask when I was in 5th grade.

Also, how do they decide what is a "5th grade question" and what isn't?

  • i knew that.....oh well

  • he didnt win over 3million on jeopardy.. lol look at his face when jeff said that.. xD he knew he was wrong.

  • I just learned that in 8th grade. O____O

  • lesson learned: take risks in life

  • he won 2.5 million dollars on Jeopardy not over 3 o.O

  • This show makes me realize how screwed the education system is in the south. Most of questions in the subjects weren't even covered until I got to high school, and some of the harder questions I only knew because took the time out of school to learn various subjects. Though I do realize that a lot of these questions are meant to be off the wall things so the average person wouldn't win big, but it is still sad to see that people can't answer some of the easier questions on this show.

  • he's a really smart guy, but i respect how he's not overconfident

  • why the fuck is the million dollar question always social studies?

  • @98WTF The last episode I saw, it was Science.

  • they always pussy out....

  • Let me tell you, I would have done the same.

  • A fifth grader probably would've risked it, so he is smarter for stopping at 500K

  • Comment removed

  • Who the hell are these kids?!

  • 3:03 How

  • lol ken jennings is such a jew, just look by his nose...

  • @funowning ...except he's a Mormon

  • @puresmilinbob Well, since he was talking about the nose, he's talking about the Jewish race of people and not the religion.

  • @funowning ...except he's a Mormon

  • Ken Jennings once again proves how smart he is. Walking away a winner once again.

  • is the full episode uploaded anywhere?would love to see ken jenning whoop these easy ass questions

  • lol the most fake laugh ever 00:57

  • is there a full episode for this?

  • Shit? Learned about that in Health class.

  • They probably find the tiniest fact in the smallest part of the text book or something, and it isn't even something they would teach, it's probably hidden in some textbook like I said. lol

  • Hahaha, could it be that the producers just put up a question that he would know "just in case" he dropped out. And keep the really hard question if he goes for it. Either way, I think dropping out was the better idea for him.

  • What a bitch

  • this game should be called "are you smarter than Albert Einstein?" because no 5th grader could answer that

  • @MetaSonic543 I could if I were a 5th grader. We learned that shit in S.S...... but apparently I forgot it a year later......

  • I learned this in AP Government class, damn, they should've named this show "Are You Smarter Than a High School Know-It-All".

  • i got it right. hell yeah. im smarter then a fifth grader. and if he went for it they would have went to a different question.

  • i think i learned that in high school.... or maybe i just wasn't paying attention in the 5th grade, social studies was my least favorite subject

  • 4:30 is when the question comes up.

  • Woohoo AP US History :D

  • What the shit? I didn't learn the answer to that question until Highschool.

    Trolls.

  • Easy question

  • But hes Ken Jennings! >:(

  • I KNEW THAT and im in 8th grade

  • @sasbud12 According to my calculations, about 0 people on Earth care.

  • I KNEW THAT

  • i like ken jennings..idk why they booed him lol

  • i just learned that shit in 11th grade AP US History.

  • @lsutigerfan1350 In my AP US History class all we ever did was play chess

  • @lsutigerfan1350 I'm in 11th grade AP US history too. I know that feel.

  • He's such a pussy. Just get to the fucking question.

  • But he DID get the last question right, so technically he IS smarter than a 5th grader. Isn't he?

  • @GameAce6 Ken Jennings is smarter than the entire planet. Combined.

  • @spartacus778 except for asians.... ur wrong.

  • This guy just destroys all game shows

  • of course hes smarter.. he won jeopardy like 100 times

  • The million dollar question is one I knew the answer to, but that's because I'm taking an APUSH class in my junior year in high school. It's allegedly a college-level class. "Smarter than a fifth grader" my ass.

  • The stupid cunt wife in the background, "I think you should do it honey! We're already fucking rich!"

  • His son really looks like him --- how cute! XD

  • i wonder hom many jobs he is offered every week?

  • It should be called, "Have you retained and absorbed more useless trivia then a 5th grader."

  • C'mon...I freaking knew that, and I suck at social studies.

  • This guy made $2.5 million dollars on Jeopardy and he's not smarter than a 5th grader?

  • @Clearfuls

He obviously knew everything. He just didn't want to go for it at the end.

  • Ken Jennings is never gonna give you up, money. He's never gonna let you down.

  • omfg i fucking KNOW THAT QUESTION, PUT ME ON THIS DAMN SHOW

  • Bet his wife is glad she married the geek haha

  • I hate how they make him say "I'm not smarter than a fifth grader" even though he knew the answer and made a logical choice in stopping

  • Ken Jennings vs. John Carpenter!! place your bets!!

  • That is such an easy question, oh my gosh

  • come on ken, your KEN JENNINGS!

  • He left with 2 and a half million dollars, not over 3 million o_O

  • @Tunkman77 He also won $500,000 for his runner-up finish in Jeopardy's Ultimate Tournament of Champions in addition to the $2.5 million he won in his initial 74-show run.

  • @MetalSmasherGaming His total earnings on Jeopardy! are $3,172,700, consisting of $2,520,700 over his 74 wins, a $2,000 second-place prize in his 75th appearance, a $500,000 second-place prize in the Jeopardy! Ultimate Tournament of Champions, as well as half of a $300,000 prize in the IBM Challenge.

  • How is this a million dollar question... This is the easiest shit ever.

  • But he got all the questions right... Including the last one. Just because he didn't go for it, doesn't mean he didn't get it right. So he is smarter then a 5th grader.

  • What's up with the 1-2-3 hand sign from the host at the end?

  • but he answered all the questions, except for the college one, so he is smarter then a fifth grader

  • i don't get it? he technically knew the answer so why did he have to say that he wasn't smarter than a fifth grader? he only dropped out because he didn't want to risk the money.

  • The only person more winningest than Ken Jennings is Charlie Sheen.

And this show was so bullshit and was always rigged.

  • they take a really long time to spit out a stupid question..

  • My god that was the easiest 1 million dollar question ever. John adams was great in his HBO special.

  • Is ''Winningest'' even a word?

  • @delldell50 Yes

  • This fucking show tries to boost the illusion that the American education system isn't the shithole that it really is.

  • Did that host just say winningest?

  • @TicTacAnyone err... so?

  • He is smarter than a fifth grader.

  • You know what Ken should have said?

"My name is Ken Jennings, and I'm not smarter than a fifth grader...but I AM wealthier than one!"

He then proceeds to whip out a pair of shades and struts off the set with "Like A Boss" playing in the background.

  • damn his wife is ugly

  • @dshah1224 not to ken jennings lol

  • I hate how this is called are you smarter than a fifth grader. There isn't a fifth grader in the world that knows all of these questions. These are not elementary questions.

  • @FieldsOfMold I would know them, so would alot of 3rd graders in some asian schools.

  • pussssaaaaaaaaaaay

  • I learned this is 8th grade and I actually knew the answer. But really, if it takes somebody like Ken Jennings to win that should reflect our current state of education

  • this show is bullshit the 5th graders are like einstein

  • there is only 3 kids on the show now. anyone know why that is?

  • @FloridaRaider This is back when the show was on during primetime. Now it's only on in syndication and mostly only in the morning. So... the scale of the show has been reduced entirely.

  • I felt good that I knew the answer

  • I knew that too ~_~

  • i never learned this shit in 5th grade

  • @AnonymousFiddleBoy Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader needs to have its name changed to "Do You Know Rudimentary Facts Of Basic Subjects That Weren't Actually Taught In Grade School".

  • If i have a gameshow i'm NEVER getting this guy on it xD

  • Is that his wife with braces?

  • WINNINGEST

  • I hate this show more than anything. Jeff Foxworthy is the biggest ass, I bet he doesn't know any of these questions.

  • He did the right thing

  • He should of kept in mind, at least, that no matter what topic it would of been, it's going to reflect 5th grade or earlier grade questions. Nothing he learned that he would of forgotten in high school or college would ever be on there o__O, which would probably be the more complicated ones...damn.

  • 5th graders don't know how to handle money, so technically he is smarter...

  • 8 people are not smarter than a 5th grader.

  • @VMKCheat I'm sure there are more than 8 people, Infants, republicans, you......

(No, I'm not THAT much of a dick)

  • anybody check out the tits on the woman at 1:23 right above foxworthy's hand? spectacular

  • Pussy.

  • They talk way to fucking much

  • Comment removed

  • @wizardplum Fantastic.

  • It certainly took long enough for him to decide what the hell to do.

  • @Tony63909

3 minutes is a long time to make a million dollars, life changing(well maybe not for him) decision?

  • 'Winningest' is that even a word??

  • @hitman1365 Yes, it is a word. Try reading sometime.

  • @topdubdotcom Fuck off!!

  • He already over 2 million from Jeopardy so did it really matter that he didn't get another million...

  • @StarRoseAngelic Your an idiot - a bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush

  • im a 7th grader and i cant get any of these questions??? wtf???

  • @zezima12354 OMG ME TOO

  • he looks younger than a fifth grader :P

  • @ulongkoror haha true but what's sad is that kids these days don't even watch the Addams family. Now if there was a question about Spongebob on the show... They would know. I totally agree, dude.

  • does that woman have braces? lolollol

  • ken jennings is way too smart to risk on that kind of crap. That question was way too easy for a million dollars anyways. even I knew that.

  • I was taught for the first time about the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans in my AP US history class (Sophomore in High School), there is no way in hell that a 5th grader knows that John Adams was a Federalist...

  • @Daaru23: A common misconception is that the 11th question is one that most 5th graders are supposed to know. It isn't, which is why you cannot use a classmate to cheat off (because they'd almost always be wrong and it would just be cruel on them) and, if you get it right, you get to say that you are "SMARTER than a 5th grader". Otherwise, it'd be "Just as smarter as"

  • @FallenAngelIII

    "Just as smarter as"? wtf?

  • @Daaru23 lol really? does an 8 year old know about republicans and democrats today? im sure theyve heard of the terms, especially if their parents watch the news, just being exposed to it wouldn't seem that unusual. well, if you were taking a grade school histroy class, the two main partys during that time were federalists and democrat-republican before they split. by process of elimination ken knew the answer, john adams was not a republica-democrat, had to be a federalist. not hard for a child

  • If they had to give him a million dollars then NASCAR would lose their sponsor.

  • By no means am I trying to brag but I did get this right and I believe I knew it before fifth grade. When you're fascinated by presidents it happens. I am shocked how some act how hard this is. Just me though.

And yes Jennings is smarter and more badass than a fifth grader.

  • they should change that church pastor for a real host.

    by the way

ken jennings IS smarter than a 5th grader.

  • lol, must not obey the dollar sign :)

  • The questions are not what fifth graders should know. The fifth graders probably don't even know the first grade questions.

  • i would love for someone to find me a 5th grader that even know who John Adams is,theyll probably say is some character from the Adams family

  • FUCKING 5TH GRADERS DONT KNOW THE ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS HALF THE TIME. THAT WAS A COLLEGE LEVEL QUESTION THT HE DROPPED OUT OF. HOW THE FUCK IS HE NOT SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?! FUCK THIS SHOW. FUCK THIS FUCKING SHOW.

  • @bjdooi

    I concur... :)

  • @bjdooi I agree to some extent. I don't think that question was collefe level, but he is definfetly Smarter than A FIfth GRADER!!!!!

  • Smartest Mormon in the world... Hands down...

  • @RoyalDevil3 Your grammar is atrocious. No Offense*

  • Comment removed

  • ken jennings is THE SHIT.

  • technically he is smarter than a 5th grader because he knew the right answer. He didnt take it because he didnt want to risk losing the money

  • @PibbXtra08 Thanks for explaining that to us all. So relieved that you were there.

  • @PibbXtra08 Further proving he is smarter that a fifth grader.

  • technically he is smarter than a 5th grader because he knew the right answer. He didnt take it because he didnt want to risk losing money for his charity.

  • Was he saying "winningest"?

  • @Crexu Yes he did. It's a word; this is why we have google.

  • He was probably paid the full amount to not accept the full amount.

  • are they paid to talk like mofos before deciding?

  • I'm gonna grow a mustache like that. THE 80'S WILL NEVER DIE!

  • i hate this show

  • I have a strong hunch that they choose an easier question to psych out the contestant if they've already dropped out. That was far too easy of a question to be the legitimate million dollar question.

  • I wouldnt have been able to answer that question until junior year of high school....

  • smarter than a 5th grader is the redneck version of jeopardy

  • @Kritickos all thats mising is the nascar bumper stickers and the you know youre a redneck jokes

  • @Kritickos It was a funny comment before watching the vid, it became funnier when it began and I heard the accent...

  • @Kritickos well maybe you should watch the movie Check your Neck

  • @Robb373737 Big words? I am entitled to an opinion and I don't really care if you like it or not. All I ask is you express yours without having to resort to expletives. You need to get over yourself pal.

  • hahaha thats literally a high school question. 5th graders dont know what a federalist or jeffersonian republican is. what a ridiculous show

  • maybe the guy didn't want to risk 500k on one question.

  • I'm sorry but what is the point in this video? I was expecting to see him answer some questions..

  • thanks a lot for posting this.
