As a women, as a women of color, as a women that has achieved in a man's world and keep a (home and heirs) I thank Ms. Anthony for her strength and her fight for the right to vote... that lead to death. Never give up and Never surrender .
Susan did not need to go to jail for voting. Back in those days voting ballots were held in local barber shops. Susan went into the barber shop in broad daylight, in front of everybody, and put in her vote, afterwords she was arrested. She didn't have to get arrested, she could've snuck into the barber shop at night and put in her vote and not get caught.
@YouthFreedomFighters So... she should have fought her battle in silence and resorting to sneaking around just to vote as if it's something to be ashamed of? Well, I'm sure as hell glad she didn't have your mentality.
@ColibriAnna08 I agree. Thank you for your insight. Im also glad she didn't sneak in to vote. I was looking for a good answer as to why that would be a bad idea.
Susan was an amazing human being. Ida B. Wells use to walk with this woman, and I have the utmost respect for both of them and the impact they made on our society as they both attempted to resolve issues that plague our society to this very day. Both are legendary in my opinion.
"Atheism leads a man to sense, to philosophy, to natural piety, to laws, to reputation: all of which may be guides to an outward moral virtue...""What you should say to outsiders is that a Christian has neither more nor less rights in our Association than an atheist. When our platform becomes too narrow for people of all creeds and of no creeds, I myself shall not stand upon it." Susan B. Anthony "
Congratulations on obtaining the right to vote, ladies. Now, you can vote for wars that only men will be drafted to fight. Feminism has been an equal rights movement, not an equal obligations movement. Never do you see the word "responsibility" mentioned in any of their demands. We must "go back to the way things were before". Yes, we made a big mistake in having freedoms and rights for women- without equal responsibilities. The 19th Amendment has been a grave setback for men.
No people who gain rights ever turn around later and say, "Can we go back to the way things were before? We made a big mistake by having freedoms and rights."
But during the time they are struggling for those rights, they are treated like they are insane people...later they are treated as heroes.
Susan B. Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton have always been my heroes! Now it is time to see their dream for all women to come true; it is time to break the highest glass ceiling in the land! Ladies unite, throw off those invisible Burkas, and make your Grandmothers proud; vote for Hillary! (smile) I wish my Mother were alive to be part of this moment in "Herstory!" (wink)

I wrote the screenplay "THE REVOLUTIONISTS" about Susan B. Anthony & Elizabeth Cady Stanton's lives & unrequited loves!
I need a producer! I would love Kate Hudson & Keira Knightley to star as the young women!
