  • Shocking! If you WORK for BA you should get a free oyster card. NO excuse then!

  • Hmmm, why am I not surprised, We do regular Trans-Atlantic flights and do avoid Heathrow every chance we get. Quickest connections are @ Amsterdam Schipol, Frankfurt Main, and Paris CDG in my opinion..

  • Yanks are a selfish race, I bet Bush knew that there was no WoMD in Sudan's hands, disgracefull bullies.

  • NO.5 is new!

  • It's Heathrow. How is this new? I'm used to O'Hare, for crying out loud.

  • Yes, I mean look at France, their terminals collapse. Idiot. Terminal 5 is working perfectly now and is a beautiful gateway to Heathrow.

  • @Alania21 it never collapsed it was a saftey precaution get your facts right

  • WE ARE A FRAGGING ADVANCED COUNTRY! WE MADE THE U.S AS POWERFUL AS IT IS. WE SHOULD STILL OWN THE U.S NOW!

    freakfarter out!

  • Oh I thought that Americans made America what it is. They kicked your ass and then saved your ass. You'd be speaking German if it wasn't for the good ol USA.

  • My arse. The German Leader, Hitler made so many mistakes. Look at us. YOU ARE ALL EVIL PEOPLE. YOU ARE YANKS. YOu always turn up late for every war. Your "leader" Mr Bush caused the deaths of so many in Iraq... Typical American.

  • Dream on there sonny... lol..

  • We're all evil? So what about the Americans who know that some Americans are crazy. I guess that makes certain people evil, that aren't from America.

  • it took u 3 f***cking years and only after the japenese bblasted the heck out of u

  • It is a shame for britain

In Germany that would not happen.

  • I said it's a fuckin shit hole compare to hong kong and Singapore Changi.

  • its the Best Terminal in the World(after Dusseldorf)

  • I may be wrong but I believe that even though it was said to improve the airport's efficiency, they needed to S-L-O-W-L-Y intergrate it into the system.

  • That is a point but it is a busy airport. It isnt that specific racial background!

  • Its safer than any airport in Canada atleast!!!!!!!!! Theres a rule about how long the runways have to be and in Canada its not as strict so in Canada most runways are short.

  • I heard Heathrow's baggage ahndlers are a bunch of slow idiots anyway... :/

  • My Grandad actually fixed heathrow terminal 5.....im serious

  • @shalzy007 I believe you.

  • Terminal 5 is working now. See for yourself on the BA homepage. I went throught their last week and it took me 2 minutes to get through check-in on a flight to New York

  • Yeah ,thats right blame it on the staff!

  • LOL...Beijing's terminal 3 cost $ 3.5 bn(cheaper) and was finished in 3 years and Britain pulls this shit out??? Hahaha I'm surprised how low the British quality of service has sunk ! Need I also remind you that Beijing's terminal 3 is also bigger, I really can't believe what I'm seeing !

  • Its nice to get an expert opinion from someone of a country the size of Belarus!

  • Lol you don't need to insult me directly ...just face it ! You weren't capable (your country) of finishing a terminal (incredibly small compared to China's) in 15 years and they did it in 3 !! Plus I was on Heathrow when the whole baggage chaos took place and trust me it fucking sucked ! YOU invested more, worked more and it didn't even work out properly in the first few days ; China's worked perfectly even from the inauguration. Trust me, for what happened that day I deserve to be mad!

  • Ye, right

  • Stupid chinese nationalist

  • @15XG Yes they have 1.5Bn people for labour and infinite land to build in. I think you've gone and made a fool out of yourself.

  • Hallo Inselaffen! Auf der falschen Seite fahrn, mieses Essen und noch schlechtere Autos (Rover): UND IHR WOLLT MIT EINEM FLUGPLATZ KLARKOMMEN? Startet lieber in Wien.

  • 15 years in the making and they still couldnt get it right. YOu think they would of trained the staff on simulators

  • what was the date this happened?

  • Its Willie Walsh, he is irish and he hates the british. So wants british airways to fail.

  • lol?

  • Elton John looks strange at 1:11.

    LOL :))

  • haha, nice spot

  • No whay, thats eltons dad!

  • The operator of Heathrow, BAA, claims that Heathrow is the "world's busiest international airport", but Heathrow is only the world's third-busiest airport by total passenger traffic, after Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson and Chicago O'Hare, which are also international airports. However, Heathrow has the highest number of international passengers. Atlanta takes in 89 million passengers a year whereas Heathrow takes in 68 million passengers a year.

  • Bisschen spitzfindig, wie?

  • She's my favourite news presenter. I think she is soo damn hot!!!!!!!!!

  • Nah, I prefer Fiona Bruce! LOL

  • your absolutely right. I totally forgot about her. Does she still present the bbc news?? The last time I saw her on tv was on her last episode of crimewatchn when she was wearing tight clothing.:-)) She has such a sexy voice too.

  • She sure does, and don't forget Sopphie Raworth too!!!

  • Chief executive Willy Wash lmfaowrotf

  • British incompetence in project management...

  • Lol 1:42 old guy sticks his finger up

  • When have ba been good

  • Still losing face! BA long haul not moving into T5 yet? LOL. Afraid of LOSING MORE AND MORE FACE!

  • They should've done beta testing. Surely they could've prevented the chaos had they known what to expect.

  • Willy Walsh :P

  • That kirkwood guy is very stupid like the rest of the managers!

  • I wonder a little how this can happen. I mean airports are built and run since over 80 years. Heathrow is an old airport with a lot routine. Why suddenly the system breaks down, what is the reason?

  • Baggage systems always tend to fail at new terminals!

  • I wonder a little how this can happen. I mean airports are built and run since over 80 years. Heathrow is an old airport with a lot routine. Why suddenly the system breaks down, what is the reason?

  • BA still the best

  • Talk about passing the buck !!!

  • its great story of how higher manangment sign things off before they are ready!

  • John Cleese probably is in charge at Terminal 5 at Heathrow airport

  • It's alright now, when I returned from Hamburg two days ago, there was no big queue, and you could actually see floor space.

  • well british airways it wasn't "your finest hour" when you grounded CONCORDE. so again not another fine hour for you with the terminal 5 chaos.

Shame on you British Airways, in both cases...

The Laurel and Hardy tune would have gone great with this video.

    Allegedly...!

    Nice posting...

  • BA grounded Concorde? Not true. Airbus industries (the company that controls manufacture of spare parts and more vitally updates manuals and safety briefings) withdrew their technical support. This made it impossible to operate Concorde legally within european or american airspace. want to blame someone for concordes demise look towards Toulouse.

  • BA grounded concorde due to high operating costs.IF CONCORDE WAS STILL HERE TODAY, BRITISH AIRWAYS MIGHT OF GONE BUST KK

  • High operating costs!! Well as it was making a profit that doesn't stand up. The cost of becoming the legasy producer(spares manufacture, design authority and translating the manual into the languages of all EASA member countries(yes that was a requirement under EU law)was what killed it. Oh and Air France pulling out too.

  • Cost cost cost the Airlines are not making back the money spent on the safety modifications and other upgrades. With some other big costs coming up (tens of millions, before any life extension programme), BA need to write off £84M now, rather than £150M in 3 or 4 years. Air France will write off a large sum of money too.

Airbus, the Manufacturer, will also not support the aircraft after October 2003.

    Concorde is the best?

Out of interest do u know anything about planes??

  • The largest and best terminal? More like a big-top 3-ring circus, run by apes and monkeys. Can't even handle common technology. Ha-ha, losing face again!

  • Interesting to see all the misinformation + videos doing the rounds, putting the blame on the baggage system / "worker error". The reality as far as my friends who work at BAA are concerned it was actually baggage unable to get onto the baggage movers at the Core Building A baggage "pickup points", to go the none core "satellite" stands (called buildings B to D). These bags still have or had rofl to go via the apron roads, which basically failed capacity testing.

  • "satellite" stands (called buildings B to D)

Satellite B, yes. Satellite C opens in 2012 after they build it. There is no plan for a Satellite D. Oh, and they are (or will be) joined by transfer baggage belts in underground tunnels, only a very small percentage of bags will ever go via the apron road.

  • Another serious issue arose when security personnel under, what I could only describe as old Soviet tactics, hid behind anti-terrorist legislation in trying to prevent passengers from filming the chaos that was taking place within the terminal building. Questions should be asked in the Commons as to whether taxpayer funded personnel should be allowed act as pseudo mercenaries in a damage control exercise by both BAA and British Airways.

  • I feel a lot of empathy towards the average BA employees having to deal with a situation not of their making, while those who were responsible for this fiasco were hiding behind closed doors. The arrogance displayed by British Airways management, and in particular, that of operations director Gareth Kirkwood should not go without sanction. He should resign or be fired.
