  • @Kgardin674 I the seitan cheat balls do freeze really well! Just don't freeze in foil as the tomato will make the foil disintegrate and stick to the foil. Thank you all for the nice comments! Go Veg!

  • Wow i like this! I have never made them this way. I am gonna try this.

  • Can I freeze the "cheat balls"?

  • I can't wait to try this recipe!! Also lol at "cheat" balls!

  • awsome recipe. I store wheat so I was looking for non bread recipes to make. And my kids will love these as sandwiches. I can cook em up and put them in the crock pot with the spagetti sauce. thanks for sharing.

  • Hail Seitan!

  • LOL! I get it. Seitan cheat balls! Mask of the Belzebub hahahah!

  • That is so neat I love the rock idea! Thumbs up!!

  • Yeah...the mask of Satan was a little creepy. But other than that, this video is great!

  • seitan cheatballs, a mask of the devil is not really the first thing you want to show your viewers.

  • I can't find yeast flakes ANYWHERE!! Not even whole foods!!!! Its like this elusive essential ingredient for all these awesome seitan recipes, its driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mackles Hi. I found yeast flakes in bulk at Diane's Natural Foods (not sure if they're everywhere). In my town, they also have it pre-packaged at GNC (General Nutrition Center), but it's a little more pricey there. If you have a Sprouts or a Trader Joe's nearby, I bet they'd have it. Good luck. :)

  • @mackles buy it online!

  • can I boil them instead of baking them?

  • can you also fry these up? They look amazing and very easy!! I'm gonna try this!! Thanks for the recipe!!

  • Mmmmmm, I'm hungry! Can I come to your house? No wait, this looks easy enough, I'll give it a try myself! lol Thanks for sharing!

  • you don't have to rinse the dough?

  • @judieannozine

The flour she used was wheat gluten, not normal wheat flour, so no rinsing was necessary : )

You only have to rinse normal wheat flour in order to get rid of most of the starch, which gives the dough a more meaty texture once it's cooked.

Hope that cleared things up for you!!

  • I made these and they were *delish*!! I didn't have rice vinegar, tomato paste, or marjoram, so I used white vinegar, ketchup, and left that spice out, and they were STILL great! Excellent recipe! Oh, and I just realized re-watching this that I forgot to cover them in foil to bake! Hahaha, this is really a fool-proof recipe! : )

  • oh, yummmm!

  • why is the video stopping ?

  • BTW, that is vladdie slapping me in the head with a sword at the end.
