cannot get into this new album at all. there are a couple of songs which are ok. mainly the first 2 and retail therapy and thats it. there's a couple nice intro riffs out there but the synths are terrible in this and the rhythm, while catchy, is drowned out by dull riffs and geoff's awesome voice being wasted on mediocre lyrics about sex. i can see where queenryche are trying to go...thats not the problem. but there is no energy in this album at all. they've slapped together rock and danc music.

You know.. the first time I heard mindcrime I thought it was a little odd..but the concept aspect of it was amazing. This strikes me as odd the same way that one did. But I really feel like I would begin to really dig it after playing it a few times. This song has a lot of depth musically. Lyrically it makes me giggle. I bought this CD at Gaylords the other day. When I got home and opened the CD package, with CD in hand I turned on my Sony CD/Minidisc combo deck...this deck reads CDtext so that song titles and disc titles appear when you insert the CD. When you first turn on the deck its display reads "Welcome!" however when I turned the deck on with the "Dedicated To Chaos" CD in my hand ready to drop it on the CD tray, instead of the deck saying "Welcome!" the deck told me to stab myself in the c*nt.

After that its been all Gray, Slater and some random dudes making crap music. Even CDG's pen wasn't igniting anymore at Promised Land, but at least it has few good songs. Listen EP or any of 3 first records and after that listen PL / HNITNF and try saying they are great records.
