  • ahh love it:)

  • respect to Arthur Baker, Rick Rubin, and Russel Simmons.

  • too funny how arthur bake is headbanging... or whatever it is hes doing :D

  • Fuckin' timeless!! Love the reel to reel master straight from the studio to the floor. Poor cunts nowadays have such shite to listen to. I was there all throughout the heyday of N.O. Could not imagine growing up without all that synth. mastery.

  • The beginning of this video was filmed on Liberty ave in Richmondhill Queens, NYC

  • The long hair guy is Arthur Baker, the producer of Confusion, who also worked with Bambaataa and Planet Patrol. He has nothing to do with fake metal. You don't know what you are talking about tmes92279.

  • f-ny!!

  • Confusion skateboards!!

  • back to the 80 s always had new order on the turntable only seen Thane play once at liverpool on 8Th February 86 the fall new order and the smiths o and john cooper clarke any one there that night

  • This was like from another planet in 1984, strange to think a northern indie band invented hip hop

  • HipHop had been around long before this!!

  • This is more electro, but hey who cares it's New Order.

  • Eh?

  • you're talking some serious bollocks. hip hop was 10 years strong when this came out. learn or shut up.

  • yeah like i take advice with your musical tastes

  • learn or shut up.

  • your opinion is irrelevent

  • Arthur Baker is GOD......actually he does look a little like Jesus lol :O)

    New York forever baby!!!!!!!!!!

  • anyone who thinks genius or any great talent has anything to do with colour of skin? Has to know that they are morons!

  • Nowadays he's running his own restaurant in Harlem and releasing new projects. Is he married? I think, I read it somewhere.

  • Don't care what color the dude is he is a genius, love all those bands and this song is killer!!!

  • I'll settle this right now: Arthur is WHITE!! I was his studio manager in 1983/4 at "Streetwise Records".

  • Arthur Baker isn't black you idiots!!

He's actually the white, long haired bearded dude in the video!!

    Google his bio!!

  • Arthur Baker ... joined the staff of Tommy Boy Records in the early 80s, teamed with co-producer Shep Pettibone to record with Afrika Bambaataa. He later reunited with Bambaataa for the classic "Planet Rock," - a rip-off of Kraftwerks "Trans Europe Express". By 1983 he formed his own label "Streetwise Records" and began working with UK bands like New Order. He was way ahead of his time. Even his work with New Order proceeded any of the mainstream crap that would follow in later years.

  • New Order was doing hip hop with Arthur Baker and America was dancing to them before they even knew they were a bunch of white guys from Manchester. As usual, European bands lead the way in dance!

  • Er, Arthur Baker is a black man, leader of the Zulu Hip Hop Nation in New York city. His group The Soul Sonic Force, G.L.O.B.E., and Planet Patrol were doing this kind of music 15 years before europe even heard of Hip Hop. Get your info straight. You probably think columbus was the first to discover america too, idiot.

  • The "white guys" reference refers to New Order. As for Baker, I'm not doubting his colour [I know he is black], not that I give a rats ass what colour he is - that is NOT the point idiot!

  • Actually the guy is right bro, Arther baker is the white guy with long hair, though i'm sure back in the day many thought he was african american because of his strong association to black music, his collabo's with Afrika etc made it seem that way. but he was a very talented white guy i give him that much... he had some soul, so maybe he was black in heart. :)

    Respect!

  • are you mental columbus was the first man on the moon along with ll cool jay
