Fuckin' timeless!! Love the reel to reel master straight from the studio to the floor. Poor cunts nowadays have such shite to listen to. I was there all throughout the heyday of N.O. Could not imagine growing up without all that synth. mastery.
The long hair guy is Arthur Baker, the producer of Confusion, who also worked with Bambaataa and Planet Patrol. He has nothing to do with fake metal. You don't know what you are talking about tmes92279.
back to the 80 s always had new order on the turntable only seen Thane play once at liverpool on 8Th February 86 the fall new order and the smiths o and john cooper clarke any one there that night
Arthur Baker ... joined the staff of Tommy Boy Records in the early 80s, teamed with co-producer Shep Pettibone to record with Afrika Bambaataa. He later reunited with Bambaataa for the classic "Planet Rock," - a rip-off of Kraftwerks "Trans Europe Express". By 1983 he formed his own label "Streetwise Records" and began working with UK bands like New Order. He was way ahead of his time. Even his work with New Order proceeded any of the mainstream crap that would follow in later years.
New Order was doing hip hop with Arthur Baker and America was dancing to them before they even knew they were a bunch of white guys from Manchester. As usual, European bands lead the way in dance!
Er, Arthur Baker is a black man, leader of the Zulu Hip Hop Nation in New York city. His group The Soul Sonic Force, G.L.O.B.E., and Planet Patrol were doing this kind of music 15 years before europe even heard of Hip Hop. Get your info straight. You probably think columbus was the first to discover america too, idiot.
The "white guys" reference refers to New Order. As for Baker, I'm not doubting his colour [I know he is black], not that I give a rats ass what colour he is - that is NOT the point idiot!
Actually the guy is right bro, Arther baker is the white guy with long hair, though i'm sure back in the day many thought he was african american because of his strong association to black music, his collabo's with Afrika etc made it seem that way. but he was a very talented white guy i give him that much... he had some soul, so maybe he was black in heart. :)
new order is the best new order is the best new order is the best i will keep going on until the end of time
