My Noodle has been doing this his life w no problems. Since he has been "fixed" he's a bit chunky but stable fast and agile at almost 12 yo He sits pretty on his muffin top toosh for quite a while I am lucky and so is he. I only wish he did not have a bad tooth. P-U. I tend to it w peroxide & am careful.
Good looking dox! Mine does the same thing and we can't get her to stop. We have tried correcting her, scolding her, everything...even to this day and she still keeps doing it. I think it's a breed thing. Maybe because they are so short, they like to pop up to get a better look at things. lol. You have to admit, it is really funny.
it's a beautiful dachshund! =) i have one her name is "Aulladora" =) she is like almost 10 years old! and she is the best <3 and she can't sit like that she is just tooooo long jajaja xD
although this is a cute pose,, called "sitting pretty", it is the way Dachshunds injure their back! This will create all sorts of problems, and is dangerous!
its not the short legs its the long back. You can look online and find this out. I have one who has back problems. She wasnt suppose to walk again.I give her everyday now 500mg Ester C,25000iu Beta Caratine, 400iu Vitamin E, and a combo pill Glucosamin, Chondritin, MSM, she did relasp when I stopped the treatment, thought she was better..started again, it took her longer and she was in more pain but she did come out of it again, I will continue the treatment for the rest of her life.worth it!
That's amazing! Though won't he have any spine problems? I agree with mrceq, it ain't good for dogs with short legs. Never mind me though, THAT WAS STILL COOL! Tommy, you rock! :)
It reminds me my dog, a teckel as well who passed away 2 weeks ago. He never had any spine or leg problems, he died in 2 weeks because of a sudden cancer. What a fucking disease.
Omg this is my Long lost Brother of my dog.

@eefilm4u Thats right! We had two Dachshunds that did this, they BOTH injured their backs. The one we have now cannot "sit pretty" Thank God.

Tommy: take care with that position, is not good for your spine. Is not good for any dog with short legs.
