I already liked this song before i watched Warrior just now. Now it's taken to a whole nother level.
As one of three brothers, the love-hate depicted in the movie and climaxed in this song hits me in the core. Bound by birth, divided by life. Although we love each other unconditionally, we share a history of mutual hate and violence. This is exactly what i saw in the movie and that's why i loved it.
The final fight scene in Warrior hits a really deep chord within me because my older brother and I were estranged for many years. After my Dad died he left and I didn't see him for many years and I hated him for abandoning us... he was my hero, but when my younger brother was diagnosed with cancer he came back into the picture and we eventually worked out our differences. Since my little brother's death we have been extremely close.
I just finished watching Warrior again for the 3rd time. I had to find this song. It's a very emotional moment in this movie. My eyes did get misty all 3 times. Buy it and put it in your top 5 movies of all time.
This song just makes me think of all the relationships I have screwed up, let fall to the way side, not tried hard enough, dismissed, and point blankly refused to accept. It makes me think of how I pushed my family away because I was angry and now I don't know how to goo back. The movie scene filled me with hope that perhaps, just maybe if you want it hard enough you can reconcile with those who you have begrudged and move on to a better life.
I just watched warrior like a week ago and I have got to say its the best film yet its my favorite movie now and I watched it about 3 times the first day I watched it...
The writters decided on this song to end Warrior before ever writting the final scene! and they wrote the scene with this playing on continual loop... what a song!
@furrybumper Wow, you couldn't be anymore wrong than this. The song was written in 2004 when it was originally released on their (the nationals) EP Cherry Tree
@namccann215 No you couldn't be more wrong ,read a comment carefully before trying to reply like a smart ass,he didn't say anything about when was the song written .
Man...some movies are really good at pulling tears out of a man. Warrior was one of them. And like others have said, this song just only added to it. Great movie and song!!
" Im sorry Tommy! Tap out, I love you! Its going to be ok!" Ummmmm yea, If anyone says they didn't shed a tear durning that scene they are fucking lying.

Simply the most beautiful song I've ever heard!
Had it on repeat while writing a goodbye-letter to my cancer-dying grandpa a couple of days ago..

Dad had a stroke last night and in a state of coma right now. I am half way around world waiting for my flight to clear to go home.
This song says everything I am going through right now.
