  • evolution is just as much of a belief as creation, it is NOT science! science starts with a theory, evidence is collected and if it is science it is proven. because evolution can not be proven because it can not be tested makes it as much of a belief as creation.. also there is a reason the belief in God stands up to evolutionists, because it has been around for a couple thousand years, the theory of evolution is new, and is still a theory.

  • @mattbrandt69 Scientific theory is actually more solid than scientific fact and evolution has been verified and is demonstratable. You simply need to examine a species with a high rate of reproduction in an incresingly hostile environment. You will notice, as the weaker of the species die off and the stronger reproduce, the sample as a whole gets stronger and has evolved to become stronger than it's precursors. This is just one demonstratable change and doesn't even account for mutation

  • @mattbrandt69 You were asleep in science class weren't you? Facts make a hypothesis which are then tested to see if they match up with observations. If they do they become theories. Evolution is a fact and as a concept it's about 2500 years old (Read up on Empedocles) and it came about when we started classifying animals. When you do that it becomes obvious that species have evolved from one another; NB butterfly collections.

  • @mattbrandt69 Thing is for 2500 years there was no mechanism by which this observed fact could be explained and so evolution was just an interesting fact. Science at the time was dominated by essentialism (read up on that). So a butterfly was a butterfly because it had butterflyiness and a horse was a horse because it had horsiness. cf to the creationist notion of "kinds" creationists are essentialists.

  • @mattbrandt69 Essentialism was demonstrated to be BS the moment we realised we could seperate chemical compounds (deemed heretofore as essential) into their elements. So then smart people began to ask if essentialism in biology wasn't also BS and since we've been modifying animals for 10,000 years it became apparent that nature could do what we did when Darwin proposed that the mechanism of evolution was natural selection which Setusmortus has explained to you. Do more reading.

  • @mattbrandt69 People thought: "if artificial selection can produce new animals, why not natural selection?" and suddenly the observations made millenia ago when we classified animals made sense and we had an explanation of how this all happened. Then we acquired the ability to look at, and understanding of genetics, and we found that the genetics lined up more or less with how we classified animals, read about cladistics and phylogenetics and the modern theory of evolution was born.

  • So is evolution "just as much of a belief as creation"? I think I've demonstrated the opposite. I've shown that anyone who classifes animals can infer the evolution has happened. I've pointed you to the genetic evidence for evoluton which is congruent with these millenia old observations and inferences such as those of Empedocles and others. Evolution can thus be demonstrated to have happened and can be infered to still be happening. It's science.

  • @mattbrandt69 said "there is a reason the belief in God stands up to evolutionists, because it has been around for a couple thousand years, the theory of evolution is new, and is still a theory."

The flat Earth theory has been around for a very long time. The theory that Earth is roughly spherical is newer, but obviously a more accurate assessment of the shape of the Earth. Old ideas are often wildly inaccurate.

  • It all comes down to what was said at the end of this video. When you see something that is not yet understood, instead of saying: Aha! I don't understand therefore god exists, you should say: I don't understand, let me look into it further and learn more about this.

Conclusion? Religion is a dead end to the human brain.

  • If people want to disprove evolution they should try to do so by scientific means but they should realize that even if they succeed it does not mean that intelligent design is a valid theory.

  • @alberthadonlyone ? That is never ever in history of mankind going to happen and you know it, LOL.
