When you don't behave well,people will cally ou koan baht psa,or koan ett pooch,koan ett labeab ett lbob !! equivalent to a bastard child or a child without proper guidance and not well bred and well brought up...no matter how poor you are,if you have manner in Cambnodia,people will respect you and they will compliment the woman and the man who brought you up with such good manners,a well to do person is a person who posessed good manner in Cambodia,Good manner are most valued in Khmer society.
Having Manner,respect and politeness are the most important in Khmer society,must take shoese off at people home,must bend your back foreward when you walk across an elders,must speak softly,must use proper terms when one speak to an elder,take take hat off when you enter people home,you must sit in a certain position as not to offend your visitor or guest,khmer people get very offended when you touch their head,do not ever touch someon head in Cambodia.
